Chapter XIII: Ryoko and Tetsu

"Why are you so early, darling?" Mamita greeted me when I got home. She embraced me and kissed the top of my head just what she always does.

“Your classes ended already? Or are you not feeling well?” She asked me one question after another.

I couldn't speak right away because I was nervous about how she would react if I tell her what just happened in school.

"Uhm, Mamita..." She crossed her legs as she sits on our sofa, still holding my hand while I remained standing in front of her.

“Yes, darling?” She looked at me with a smile on her lips but it instantly fades away.

Oh my Goddess! She has already noticed it.

"And why is your cheek so swollen?" She examines my whole face. Slowly, I saw how her face got darkened. I have never seen Mamita get mad at me, and from what I see now I am scared.

"Who did that, Amaris?" She is fuming mad. Her breathing became rugged.

I knew I couldn't lie to her, and eventually she would find out too.

"I'll make sure that creature’s conscience doesn't put her to sleep when I find out who she is!" Her eyes turned to pitch black.

“Tell me who did that, little doll. I am going to make sure they will pay!” Mr. Bear is now beside me, just like Mamita he is in fury. He look at my swollen cheek with so much rage.

"If I had just seen that before, we wouldn't have left the university without meeting whoever did that. They wouldn’t leave the university… breathing." He let out a loud growl.

My eyes widened. This is the reason why I don’t want to tell them!

He didn't notice that earlier when he picked me up because I got in the car quickly.

“You are not doing your job well, Mr. Bear.” Mamita didn’t smile as she looks at our butler.

Mr. Bear on the other hand bowed his head. “I'm sorry. It won't happen again, Madame.”

I felt sorry for him, and he has to face Mamita’s anger.

I went in between them. “There is nothing to worry, Mamita… Mr. Bear. I am perfectly fine," I said softly so they can both calm down.

“That’s not fine with me, darling. What is she even thinking when she slapped you, huh? It's like I want to slap her too.” What am I gonna do to calm her?

I sat on the sofa next to Mamita and hugged her. “We just had a misunderstanding, Mamita. Don't be angry, please?”

“She dared hurt you, Amaris. Who wouldn't be angry?” I could still feel his anger that the only thing I can do is to sigh. “What right does she have to hurt you? She wouldn't like when I get mad.”

“Just tell us who did that, little doll. I will hunt them down," Mr. Bear added fiercely.

I quickly shook my head in disagreement. No!

“No need, Mr. Bear. I can handle it.” I smiled at him.

I don't want him to add fuel to the fire. Mamita will only get even angrier when he keeps it burning.

“All my life, I take care of you. Then some low-life creature dared to lay hand on your face?! I now regret that I let you enroll in the university.”

That alarmed me. Because of what happened, Mamita might even consider not letting study there anymore. It was too early for her to decide.

“Mamita, please calm down. I'm not really hurt. I swear!” Do I have need to use my ability to calm her down?

She just shook her head and touched my arm, and there she saw some dark spots on it. I closed my eyes in frustration for myself, why did I forget to hide the bruise on my arm?

“And not just on the cheek? They really didn't miss your arm, huh?” She stood up and walked back and forth in front of me. I felt how she spits anger every time she uttered a word.

I never have seen her this aggressive.

“Ready the car, Mr. Bear. We will go to Laurent,” Mamita replied with so much finality in her voice, so I hurried to her and gently took her arm.

“You don’t have to do that, Mamita. How can I learn if you will always punish those who will going to hurt me?” I almost beg her not to be impulsive.

“Come on, Mamita. Let’s just forget about this,” I said before gently guiding her to sit down.

I turned my gaze at Mr. Bear, and gave him a faint smile. “You can now leave, Mr. Bear. Thank you. I will take care of Mamita.”

He nodded at me before leaving the both of us.

I made sure that her anger subsided when I speak once again. “Let me handle the situation. I know you're worried about me. I am at fault too, Mamita. I also need to learn. All I need is your support, hmm?” I leaned over her and hugged her tightly.

She kisses the top of my head. “I just can't accept that someone hurt you, darling. All your life, I have taken care of you. And I promise even in my grave, that no one can hurt you.”

I got overwhelmed that my heart hurts a little. I know that she is just protective of me. She never fails to show me and make me feel that way.

“I understand and I know that it is part of my learning as well. I am ready to protect myself, Mamita. And in fact, you know too well that they won’t survive if they exceed their limits.” But won’t let that happen.

She knows what I am capable of, but I will never abuse that. Mamita always reminded me that I should know how to defend myself because there are some bad creatures that will going to hurt me in the future. And that makes me sad… I can’t see myself hurting another creature. Thinking about it, hurts my heart.

***

As I lay down my body, I feel like I have run out of energy today. I closed my eyes tightly but the scenario that happened earlier kept on repeating in my mind.

Silence invaded my whole room, until the ambiance changes. When I opened my eyes, smoke is all over my place.

They are here.

"Long time no see, Sky…" A voice coming from a teenage boy enveloped my ears.

I wasn’t able to get off from the bed when he rushes to hug me.

I giggle, I miss them.

"Be careful, Tetsu..." I heard a cold voice from a woman. “You might hurt, Sky. I told you to take it easy all the time, why are you so careless?”

"You are being a killjoy, Ryoko!" The boy sighed before hugging me again. “I miss you so much, Sky.”

"I missed you too, Tetsu." I kissed his head before turning to Ryoko who’s now frowning as she’s watching us. “Come here, Ryoko. I missed you as well.”

Her frown turns into a smile, as she slowly walks towards me.

"I miss you so much," she whispered as she hugged me tightly. "You never call us again." I could hear the growl in her tiny voice.

"I'm sorry for not calling you for so long." I caress their cheeks and kissed them both. “I just don't want to put your life in risk. I can’t lose you both.”

They are just like kids if you look at them both. Their physical bodies are between the ages of eight and ten, but the truth is that they have lived for hundred thousand years. They have a lot more experiences than me.

Ryoko is a girl and has the cold personality, while Tetsu is a boy and the playful one but they are both sweet. They are my yin and yang dragons. The lives of the three of us connected. When one has lost his life, the other two cannot continue anymore. And no one knows that I have them, even Mamita and Mr. Bear.

"I am so mad at the girl who hurt you, Sky..." Ryoko began. I could feel the coldness in her voice. "I hate her for calling you names. I want to punish her. I want to strangle her neck and leave her breathless.”

“Hush, Ryoko. That's not nice," I said calmly, I am about to hold her when she folded her arms.

“No one should mess up with you. They wouldn’t like when I faced them.” There was some kind of black aura coming out of her so I quickly pulled her back to sit.

“Don't let them just hurt you, Sky. Because if you don't fight, I will kill for you.”

Ryoko has the thinnest patience. She was the one trying to get out when Amalia hits me. She is always the aggressive one.

“Geez, calm down. Your head is always so hot, Ryoko! Try to calm down once in a while,” Tetsu scolded her.

“Shut up, Tetsu. I'm still older than you!” she rebutted.

Tetsu in the other hand sighed before facing me. "But my twin is right, Sky." Good heaven, I thought I have found someone who will take my side.

“I know you have caught all the kindness in the world, but don't let those creatures just hurt you. They won't like it when we make the move.”

I'm afraid of what they might do so if I could I wouldn't want to remind them of what happened earlier.

“I could protect myself. Hmm…” They are worrying too much just like Mamita.

“Yeah, I forgot. You can make them kneel in front of you without exceeding sweat,” Tetsu said smiling but immediately frowned when he remembered something.

“But since you are kind, you won't do that. They are damn lucky! Tsk.”

They know me too well.

"And you could kill them in just a blink of an eye," Ryoko added.

“And I will make sure the first one is the woman who hurt you. She messed up with the wrong creature. I will just wait for the day she will beg for her life.” A horrible grin came from her lips.

"Let’s not talk about this, anymore.” I just want to forget all of this.

“And I'm also at fault…” I don’t want to have a misunderstanding between us, just because I lacked knowledge and experience compared to those who were born free.

"Maybe if they were just like me who had experienced those things that creatures normally do since I was a child, there wouldn't be a commotion, would there?" Tetsu came up to me and sat on my lap. He gently touched both my cheeks.

“It’s not your fault, Sky. Her mind is too close to listen to your explanation. She puts first her anger.” He wiped the tears in my eyes, I didn't realize that I was already in tears.

“Hush, don’t cry. We are just always here for you. For what else are we destined to guide you? And you are different because you are special to everyone. No one can equal your existence.”

Ryoko sat beside me. “You have the purest heart and mind. We will not let that be tainted.”

"I love you both. Remember that I hid you from everyone because I don’t want you both to get hurt.” I hugged them tightly once again before dismissing them.

Someone's coming and no one must know anything about them.
