Chapter XXII: Amaris' Wrath
A black limousine arrived so it caught everyone’s attention. Their arguments subsided for a while. The car was carefully parked in front of us and seconds later, a big creature with long hair and bearded face came out.
I smiled as he walked closer to us.
"Good morning, little creatures." He greeted us all with a smile.
I could clearly see them looking up at the large creature in front of us. Their faces were amazed as they looked at Mr. Bear.
“Wow! Hi, big man!” Ashton was the first one to approached him.
Followed by Jasper. “Hello, Mr. Biggie!”
"He's real, right?" Stephan couldn't believe as he looked at Mr. Bear. He immediately disposed the stick of cigarette and walks toward our butler.
I'm glad they give Mr. Bear a warm greeting. I love how they greeted and approached him nicely.
Fortunately, they were not like the students who said bad words to him the day he picked me up. I saw how they gave high fives to Mr. Bear. I even saw Caden bump his fist with him. That sight really warms my heart.
"Who's that ugly creature?"
Well, I'm wrong. Not everyone is nice here… there is still a creature that has gone astray and is not blessed with virtue.
“What is he doing here in our university. Make him leave, Marcus! He is so ugly! And why are you having fun with them? You don't even know that ugly creature!” Amalia frowned at Caden, almost pulling him away from the others.
I saw disgusts in her eyes as she looked at Mr. Bear and I am not liking that.
"That's really rude, Amalia!" Caden called her out. "Say sorry to him!"
Mr. Bear looked at Amalia, and the latter has to step backward. “I know, little creature. I am ugly and I think that's my asset.” He let out a hearty laugh. The others laughed as well, but it didn’t even brought smile on my lips.
I was not pleased with Amalia's behavior. She can always badmouth or insult me but not the people around me. I was born in this world with Mr. Bear by myside and I saw how he lost self-confidence because of his appearance. I always see him standing in front of a large mirror for few hours, then shaking his head as if he didn’t like what he saw.
Even if he doesn’t say it, I know he gets hurt when hurtful words are being said to him. I also don’t understand what others perception of ugly and beautiful. I always saw Mr. Bear as the most handsome father figure in my whole life. I don’t see anything ugly in him.
And not because he is laughing at the insult, it doesn’t mean that it’s no longer painful. Amalia will never understand the feeling because she's not in that situation.
“No offense, but you look like a monster. The size of your eyes and nose…” She acted like she will puke, then afterwards she started laughing.
"He can be mistaken as a tainted creature. I'm right, am I not?" She asked others but no one answered her.
“That’s really rude, Amalia! Say sorry to Mr. Bear!” I couldn't stand it anymore so I have to approach her, and looked straightly in her eyes.
"Say sorry to him, Amalia!" I am starting to get pissed.
“No need, little doll. Let’s go home. Madame is waiting for you…” Mr. Bear tried to get my attention but I am busy talking to this ill-mannered lady.
“Why would I be sorry? I am just saying the truth. Is he your boyfriend?” One corner of her lips curled up. I could sense mocking in her voice.
"He's my family, so say sorry to him." I am trying to hold my patience. It is getting thinner and thinner.
"Why do I—"
"I said apologize to him!" I almost screamed.
This is the first time that my voice raised in my whole life. I am always the calm one, but she's really trying my patience.
Yes, I’m innocent about the other things in the world and I always keep my happy aura, but I also know how to get angry and this is the first time I have felt that. And I admit to myself I’m not liking it.
“Just apologize, Amalia. What you said is really rude…” Carmel joined the conversation but her cousin just glared at her.
"Don't you try to meddle in, Carmel!" The woman left no choice but to shut her mouth.
"Hey, calm down girls!" I heard the men’s rebuke but I ignored that.
The woman in front of me glared at me and was about to slap me when I took her hand and violently released it. She almost stumbles fortunately Carmel was there help her.
She has no idea what other creatures carry with them every day. Building your self-confidence is very hard. Pointing out someone's imperfections will not make you perfect.
“I just want you to apologize to him, Amalia. You don't know his struggles so you don't have the right to insult him like that!” I heaved a sigh, forcing myself to calm down.
“Don't create more pain and stress to others. Stop being so mean to others just to fulfill whatever it is you don't like about you!”
I turned my back on her and started walking away. I don’t want to look at her because I feel like I can’t hold back anymore.
“I'm just telling the truth that he's ugly. What's wrong with that? Be angry if what I say is not freaking true!”
That's it! I thought she was going to stop but she was really trying to reach the limit of my patience.
“Kneel!” I said through gritted teeth. My vision starts to darken, and I am starting to get livid.
I heard her loud fall and the loud gasps from the other at the same time. I slowly turned to look at Amalia and I was not surprised to find her kneeling on the ground.
I felt the color of my eyes intensify once again.
"Oh my gosh!" The girls are gasping in horror.
I walked near her and watched her suffer. I am not cruel. I am just teaching her a lesson.
“Kneel until your knees and palms bleed! Kneel down until you don’t regret what you did and said! Kneel until you shed blood!” I put all my anger when I told her that.
I could not feel pity as I watched her almost kissing the ground. I saw how her cousin help her stand up but that just turned into waste.
Elites were too stunned to move. It takes a moment until they came back to their senses. They tried helping Amalia, but that’s no use. There is nothing they can do. They need to kill me first if they want Amalia to get up!
"Amaris, what did you do?" Sanya sighed weakly while also looking at Amalia in disbelief.
“W-what did you do to me, Amaris?! F*ck you!” I could feel the pain in her voice, but instead of repenting she still looked too high on herself.
“Ugh, I can’t f-cking get up! By the time I get up here, I will make sure you will pay! I will kill you, b-tch!”
"Just stop Amalia," Karmela said weakly as she struggled to help her.
I gritted my teeth. I've been holding back for a long time but there are creatures like her trying to reach the end of my patience!
"You want to know what I did to those tainted creatures, right?" I could taste venom from my own voice. My cold gaze can turn her into ice.
“I made them kneel until they became ashes from my own hands. I watched them grasping for their lives in front of me!” An evil smirk crept from my lips, and at the same time, I heard their loud gasps.
I mean no harm, just don't hurt me and my loved ones. I have a lot of patience, but there are creatures who are really desperate to make it easier for them to disappear from the world. I did that so that she would learn how to be humble even when it’s forced.
I got startled when a strong hand grabbed my arm.
“Stop this. Let her go!” Caden said, holding my arm tightly.
I was hurt by the pull he made on my arm but I don’t know why my heart ached more at the visible concern on his face for that woman. I tried so hard not to touch his furrowed forehead.
“No. Let her learn her lesson. You are tolerating her, so her horn grows bigger!” I quickly withdrew my arm from his grasp.
I stepped back from him because I felt like I couldn’t breathe every time we got close. Then stared at Amalia who was already full of sweat as she knelt on the ground.
“I’m accepting your challenge, Amalia! If you manage to put a scratch on any part of my body, I promise that I will leave the university and you will never see me again. But if I am the first to hurt you, you will never interfere with me and you will apologize for everything you did and said wrong!” I said dismissing everyone.
I no longer glanced at the others and immediately teleported into our car.
“Amaris is the most patient and most genuine creature in the world, but she could also be your greatest nightmare once you hurt her. Be safe always, little creatures.” I heard Mr. Bear said to them before saying goodbye.
I just closed my eyes and waited to go home. I still have Mamita to deal with.
***
“I will park the car first. Your Mamita is already waiting,” Mr. Bear said that made me open my eyes.
He opens the door for me. I didn't realize that we were here in front of the mansion.
I gave him a faint smile and nodded at him before going inside. I feel very exhausted, while the day is not yet half over.
"How was the meeting?" I was startled when I saw Mamita at the patio. I didn't notice her right away.
She looked at me once again before taking a sip from her wine glass.
"It's okay, Mamita." I approached her and planted a kiss on the head.
I missed her.
I was surprised when she hugged me. My eyes immediately got wet because of that.
“I’m sorry for hurting your feelings, Amaris. Mamita is just worried about you, you know I love you so much. I hope you will forgive me,” she said gently and I feel like everything became okay.
I was hurt by what she said yesterday but my love for her weighed more than that and I would always forgive her.
“I'm sorry too, Mamita. I love you." I hugged her tightly.
I temporarily forgot what happened earlier at Laurent.
“I missed you.”
That night I slept soundly, completely forgetting that I had to deal with something the next day.
