50__Lesson no. 2

“Aaww, *please*, Vlad…” whined Sasha, batting her lashes at Vlad who only stared darkly ahead as she tugged on his arm and put her chin on his shoulder.

Kamilla looked at the sickening sight with a scowl. “Stop asking for people’s powers and win your own!” she growled out.
“Yeah!” agreed Fayed, nodding his blonde head. “Please stop bothering Vlad, Sash, else he’ll burn the board.”
Kamilla gasped and hovered protective hands over the game. “No! I own so many powers and properties on this board! Vlad, I swear, this time, I’ll really kick your ass if you do that.”

Kamilla would really be sad if he burnt it. This was such a cool game! Once you won a certain power or property, you had the ability to use it for real during the game.
Ever since Kamilla had won the power of fire, she’d burned up half a strand of Vlad’s scary bangs, because of which he’d *literally* screamed! She’d managed to melt off some metal on Sasha’s boots, which had been the best thing *ever* and she’d even won the power of hypnosis and hypnotized Syre to dance a jig around the room which had everyone in stitches.
It was a game of magic, according to Demetrius, over which Viktor would flip if he found out they were playing. Kamilla loved it!

Vlad finally broke his stare contest with the fireplace and turned to look at Kamilla.
She watched with a sudden chill as his mouth curved up one side in a smirk that transformed his entire aura from dark and dangerous to cocky, dark and dangerous. Huge difference!
“Although I’d love to agree with you… I doubt my Queen would be any match for me,” he murmured, looking at her from under his black, curled cap of hair.

“Yes, Kamilla,” said Sasha as if someone asked her. “With you being…” Her lips curved in a slight smile. “*Half*… we wouldn’t expect you to know just how strong real Vampires are. Vlad could possibly break you in two.”
Xavier held up a hand. “But, of course, he wouldn’t. Vlad’s a gentleman, no matter what anyone may think. I raised him that way.”
Vlad glared mildly at Xavier. “I’m no gentleman, but I still wouldn’t fight you, my Queen.”

Sasha nodded as she pushed around her board game piece. “Yes, he wouldn’t fight you, but… if he did, he’d break you in two.”
She smiled, utterly please with herself and Kamilla felt the fury rise within her until it reached her head and messed up whatever cells gave her rational thought.
Narrowing her eyes at Sasha, Kamilla tilted her head. “Would you?”
Sasha’s hand froze and she blinked. “Pardon? Would I what?”

“Break me in two. Would you?” Kamilla folded her hands together and smiled.
Sasha’s hand curved around the piece and held it tightly as she met Kamilla’s sharp gaze. “Dare I say… I just might?”

Zen suddenly lifted his head from the couch where he’d been napping and blinked at them. “Are you going to have a stand-off?”

Demetrius’s head snapped up. “What?! No! Absolutely not, Viktor would kill me!”
Kamilla raised her brows at him. “Why would he do that? If we decided to mess around a little, it wouldn’t be your fault.”

“He wouldn’t care!” Demetrius shouted urgently. “He’d kill me anyway!”
Grabbing the die floating in the air, Demetrius rolled them across the table they sat on cushions around. “Forget it, just keep playing!” he told everyone.

Kamilla was beyond listening. Sasha was like an annoying rash! She kept popping up and irritating Kamilla within an inch of madness. Today, she’d at least knock out one tooth. It was okay if Sasha won, Kamilla was half-human anyway. But, still… she wouldn’t rest easy until she knocked that one tooth!

What? She’d wait for their bond to be broken so she could claim Viktor as her own?! Huh. Kamilla would roast Sasha over an open flame before she let her!
“What about behind the castle? There’s plenty of space there.” Kamilla suddenly said, her fists trembling with fury beneath the table.

Demetrius went weak. “No… please…”

Sasha nodded with a smile. “Sure! I’m ready when you are. It’s just for fun.”

Kamilla let her mouth curve. “Yeah. Just fun.”
*****************
Zen raised his hand to signal both contenders as they all stood on the terrain near the stable.

“Please don’t do this!” Demetrius pleaded, leaning weakly on Ethan. “I don’t deserve to die for this!”
“You won’t!” Kamilla yelled back, her gaze focused on Sasha’s smug face.

“You both ready?” asked Zen with a yawn.
Kamilla nodded. “Yup!”
Sasha clapped her hands like cheerleader. “This is going to be fun!”

Zen lowered his arm sharply. “Fight!”
“It’s not a boxing match, you dork,” said Vlad as Zen hurried away from the two women.

Kamilla calmly started to walk as she and Sasha circled each other.
Syre cupped his hands around his mouth. “Go easy, Sash!” he called.
Sasha threw him a sweet smile. “I know! I will!”

Kamilla watched her turn back around and held her breath when the darkest glare shadowed the woman’s face, turning her sweet smile into the perfect copy of satan’s own grin.
“I’ll go easy on her,” she murmured low enough for only Kamilla to hear and before Kamilla could blink, Sasha was dashing for her from across the yard, her eyes glowing hard.
For what seemed like the longest time and a split second at the same time, Kamilla was just watching this woman head straight for her with nothing less than murderous intent.

The blow hit with the force of a damn gigantic meteorite.

Kamilla barely heard their gasps above the loud ringing in her ears as she flew back what felt like a hundred feet, her feet dragging against the earth.
Her body finally slowed to a stop and Kamilla awkwardly straightened, blinking dazedly down at herself.
How in the hell was she still standing?! That literally knocked the breath out of her! Kamilla thought she’d given up the ghost from that one blow.

Slowly lifting her gaze, she saw the guys waving frantically at her from where they stood as Demetrius clutched his head in shock.
Kamilla saw him nudge Sasha’s arm and yell, “Are you out of your mind?!”
Sasha then pouted at him and shrugged, making some half-assed excuse. She turned in Kamilla’s direction and waved. “You okay? Or are you seriously hurt? We can stop here!” she yelled with smile. A damn *smile*!

Kamilla’s jaw clenched. That little purple-haired bitch. She had no idea who she was dealing with.

In a few seconds, Syre had reached her side and put a hand on Kamilla’s shoulder, worriedly scanning her face. “Kamilla, are you alright? Should I take you inside?”
Kamilla silently shook her head and pushed his hand away.

She took a step forward, and then another and another until she was steadily walking towards Sasha. Her body was tense, hot with fury, her aura burned with it.
It burned too hot for Kamilla to do too much more than just walk like this, knowing that there was no need to run. Whether she ran or walked, the result would be the same. She would still break Sasha in two.
The guys moved back and Kamilla saw Sasha take her stance, preparing herself to keep fighting.

She smiled and raised her fists as Kamilla approached. “Lesson no.1,” she told Kamilla as she watched her approach. “Never underestimate a Vamp—”
“Oh!” screamed Zen when Kamilla’s hand slammed into Sasha throat, cutting off her words.

The blow was sharp and controlled, delivering a lethal slice to Sasha’s neck.

Blood splattered out of her mouth from the blow and the drops of red landed across Kamilla’s jumper in big gruesome dots.

Sasha clutched her neck, falling to her knees with a heavy gag and Kamilla calmly wrapped a hand in her long, purple hair to drag her back to her feet. Kamilla jerked Sasha forward even as more blood spluttered out of her mouth. “Lesson no. 2,” whispered Kamilla, looking flatly at Sasha’s face. “If your half-blood Queen can kill a werewolf… she can kill you too.”
