78__What a great day! Or... is it?

Kamilla rolled over in her bed with a groan, her eyes squeezed shut against the morning light.

Light. That meant mum had already opened her curtains. That meant it was time to get up and go to class.

Drawing up all her strength, Kamilla swung a leg over the side of the bed, feeling for the floor with her toes.
Once the soft rug tickled her toes, she planted her foot down and slowly lowered the other until she was sitting with her head against the pillow.

She looked like a mannequin rising from the bed, but this was the maximum amount of energy Kamilla could summon at the moment. With a groan, she pushed herself up until she was sitting upright, her eyes still glued shut from sleep.
A sigh deflated her lungs. This was the first time she’d slept without being bombarded with dreams of Witcher’s and Viktor. They’d been there, but not as much as other nights.
That must be a good sign, thought Kamilla, scratching her chin. Today would be a good day. She’d have a good breakfast, be early for all her classes, be super hydrated all day and look bloody cute!
Kamilla stood up and sleepily made her way to the door. She also wouldn’t let herself think about Vik—

“Ugn!” she groaned, smacking herself face first into the door.

The door? Kamilla frowned, her nose twitching as she sniffed. Her door smelt rather *un-doorlike*. Moving her face from side to side, she felt it with the tip of her nose. Kamilla paused. Doors didn’t have what felt awfully similar to pecs, did they? Neither were doors supposed to have such a distinct scent of crisp masculinity. This smelled like...

Her heart clenching with strong suspicion, Kamilla darted away and began to rub her eyes heartily. She could recognize Viktor’s scent amongst ten thousand others! He was probably looking at her with that scowl on his—
Kamilla blinked her eyes open, trying to adjust to the light. With a deflating heart, she looked around at the empty room. Frowning, she looked behind her and spun around in a circle. Nothing.

For a silent moment, Kamilla just looked at her closed door.
“I’m going crazy,” she murmured, slowly approaching the door.

She walked barefoot down the hallway, her frown deepening when she heard the sound of voices coming from the kitchen.
When she walked into the room, she thought she’d faint from the sight.

“Ahahahaha!” laughed her mother, pink-cheeked with delight as she poured more coffee for Xavier. “That’s hilarious, oh, my word!”
Kamilla blinked in disbelief.

“It was the best day of her life,” said Ethan. “To meet such a beautiful Vampire and go on a date with him.”

Zen reached for two thick sandwiches, placing one on Syre’s plate and the other on his. “Of course Vlad wiped her memory afterwards though.”

Adelaide gasped. “Oh, no. Poor lass would have been delighted to keep such a wonderful memory.”

“And she would have told all her friends and started some trouble,” said Syre with a grin. “Next thing we know, we’ve got a whole line of human girls asking for dates. The human males would *hate* it.”

Kamilla watched, open mouthed as her mom nodded with a laugh.
Silently, Kamilla glanced back at her room. Had she really been imagining it or had Viktor been in there?

“Oh, Kamilla!”
“Huh?” said Kamilla, turning back around.
The guys waved with varying kinds of greetings.
Kamilla scratched her chin, regarding them suspiciously. “What’s going on here? And mum, what did I say about allowing strangers into your house when I’m not around?”

Syre gasped and held his chest. “Strangers? I’m hurt!”

“Me too,” said Ethan with an elaborate sweep of his dark, wavy hair.

Kamilla gave them a look. “You guys aren’t answering my question. Also...” She glanced back at her room. “Did... Viktor come with you?”

Xavier shook his head. “No, he didn’t. We left him attending to Kingdom duties with Seth and Damon.”

“Stop questioning these poor dears and sit for breakfast,” said Adelaide, stirring waffle batter.

Kamilla pursed her lips. “Are you guys here to guard me? Or did Damon send you again?”

Ethan raised his brows. “No, we’re on duty. We’ve been on duty.”
“And the duty is?” asked Kamilla, puzzled.
“Watching you,” responded Ethan, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “We have been since you left the castle.” He looked at his brothers. “Didn’t they tell you that the other day?”

With narrowed eyes, Kamilla looked at Syre and Zen who had shrunk in their seats. “Nope,” she muttered. “They said they were sent on that *one* day! You guys have been stalking me for the past two weeks?”
“Not stalking. Ensuring your safety, my Queen,” said Ethan with a calm smile.

“Also, Damon told me to say that!” added Syre. “He said you’d be uncomfortable if you found out we were watching you.”

Kamilla tried to stay mad, but it didn’t work. He was too precious as he looked at her with cheeks bulging with yummy sandwiches and red eyes glittering with humor.

“Fine,” she muttered eventually. Only cause they were looking out for her.
Turning on her heel, Kamilla disappeared back into the house and took thirty minutes to do everything before she stood before her mirror, two outfit choices in her hands.
She put the first over her body, a slim white turtle neck, paired with black slacks and a red coat. She bit her lip, mind deep in thought. It was either she was losing the plot or Viktor had been in her room this morning.
She held the other outfit over her body, a short pleated grey skirt with a black sweater and cream-colored coat.

There was really no way Kamilla could have imagined his scent that strongly. She’d felt the warmth of his body, for crying out loud!

Huffing, she lowered both options and crossed her arms. What did he think he was doing, driving her mad this way? She’d felt him, sensed him and smelt him, but the fact that she hadn’t seen him with her own eyes left her feeling like she’d imagined it all!
The frustration bit away at her, but Kamilla swatted it away. No. Today was going to be a good day! Even if Viktor was serious about what he’d said back in Onyx the other day, it meant nothing. Like Syre said, she had to bring him to his knees.

With a nod, Kamilla reached out and grabbed the pleated skirt outfit and, tossing off her bathrobe, got herself dressed.

Twenty minutes later and still with two hours to spare until her first class started, Kamilla darted into the kitchen, grabbed her glass bottle out the fridge and a waffle off her plate before dashing towards the front hall. "I love you, mom!"

“That’s not enough for breakfast, love!” called her mother after her.

“Gotta go, ma’am!” said Syre and Kamilla heard them thank her mom for her warm hospitality as she closed the front door behind her.

Drawing in a lungful of fresh air, Kamilla started her walk to the town college of EGD, Engineering and Architecture.
Two houses away from hers, she glanced back to see if the Legion was following, but was stunned to see a clear street.

Kamilla turned back and picked up pace, her mouth curving in affection. Her guys were too slick. No wonder she hadn’t been able to tell that they’d been around her, watching her for the past two weeks.
Well, if they were the Legion of Onyx, of course they’d be that good.

Delighted at her pleasant morning, Kamilla got off the bus and, for the first time in her life, smiled up at the gates of her campus. It wasn’t particularly the school she was fond of, the morning air just seemed to be so fresh and lovely today.

Brushing crumbs from a muffin she’d bought off her skirt, she walked through the gates, smiling back at everyone who smiled at her.
The campus fountain was flourishing this morning, the white ducks swimming to their hearts’ content and the vast green lawn sparkling with morning dew as students walked about, looking as glamorous as celebrities.

“Good mornin’,” greeted a cute, dimpled guy as he walked past her.
Kamilla blushed as she gave him a wave. “Morning.” Wow, that would have *never* happened in high school. She should come to campus looking super cute from now on.
Her coat dramatically billowed out behind her as Kamilla walked towards her main building, causing a few students to stare and wave. She bit the inside of her cheek nervously. This was the most greetings she’d received in all her days of school, including the past week that she’d spent in college.

“Oh! Ms. Kamilla Drew!”

Stunned, Kamilla paused on the steps and looked at the attractive woman who’d called her.
“Uhm, hello.” With a quiet gasp, she suddenly realized who she was looking at. “Oh, you’re Ms. Turner! From Administration!”

Ms. Turner nodded. “I am, dear. How are you? What’s going on, I really thought you were here to stay. Your excellent grades had our Dean so excited!”

Kamilla blinked at the lady’s dejected expression. “Pardon? I... I am here... to stay.”

Ms. Turner looked puzzled. “You are? Then...” Frowning, she pointed toward the parking lot. “How come your guardian just cancelled your registration on your behalf?”

Kamilla’s jaw dropped open. “What? M-my registration was cancelled? But, my mom—”

“No, no,” said Ms. Turner with a shake of her head. “Not your mother, he was male and he brought a letter signed by you for the cancelling of your registration. Awfully gorgeous man, Kamilla. Is he your brother? Is he single?”

Kamilla thought her lungs had turned to stone, the way she could barely breathe. “An awfully gorgeous man c-cancelled my registration?” She gritted her teeth. There was only one man who fitted that description for her. “Tall? Black hair to his shoulders? Dark blue eyes and a hard, chiseled jaw strong enough to smash through rock?” Kamilla asked darkly.
With a dreamy sigh, Ms. Turner nodded.

The brightness of her day became a shattered illusion as Kamilla looked at Ms. Turner, her blood boiling in her veins. “Which way did he go?”
