Ch10 Power
As promised, the following day, Robert arrived after Damon and I had eaten breakfast.
Last night, around eight, Damon had left to feed. I hadn't stopped him. I had worked on my book some more while waiting for him to return. We hadn't kissed or cuddled since he had returned yesterday. It was a little awkward, but Damon didn't know why I was so distant.
He didn't know about these conflicting feelings, these arguments I was having with myself about whose feelings these were. Ever since I had been in Annabelle's head, I had felt love for Damon but also anger towards Thomas. Every time I thought of him, I wanted to rip his head off, tear him limb from limb, burn him, and make him suffer.
I had never felt anger like this before, and I was sure the anger I was feeling came from Annabelle. So maybe the love I felt for Damon came from her too. Therefore, I kept my distance.
I didn't want to hurt Damon later. It wouldn't be easy to explain all this to him. So I decided that after I got my powers, I would kill Thomas. Then I hoped that all of Annabelle's memories and feelings would no longer be a part of me, and my feelings would be my own. Then Damon and I could take it from there.
We stood in a triangle with Robert in front of us, and Damon and I standing about two feet from each other.
Robert told me to tell Damon that if he wanted to back out, now was the time to do so. Damon explained that he would do anything for me.
I wanted to cry. After how I had treated him, he still wanted to help. So without thinking, without second-guessing, I walked over to him. I took his face in my hands and kissed him passionately, showing no signs of stopping.
Robert cleared his throat to get our attention. It didn't stop us. We carried on kissing.
"Ok people, let's keep it PG," Robert shouted. I smiled and stopped the kiss.
"What was that for?" Damon whispered. I just shrugged and shook my head.
"Oh, for the love of... back in positions!" Robert shouted again, as if Damon could hear him.
Blushing, I walked back to my place. "Thank you," Robert feigned annoyance, and with a sidelong smile, he winked at me.
I stole a glance towards Damon, and he too was smiling. Robert then asked me to ask Damon if he was ready, to which Damon nodded.
"Tell him I am standing next to him and I'm about to possess him," I did so. Robert stepped towards Damon and walked into him. Damon's body spasmed once, twice, then stopped.
"Damon?" I questioned. Damon lifted his hands to his face, felt his own face, and then looked down at himself. "Damon?" I questioned again.
"No, not Damon, Robert," he whispered. I nodded with a smile, happy it worked.
"What now?" I asked.
"Now it's time for your initiation. Ready?" he asked. I nodded.
"I, Robert Leatherman, council member of the uni-taur coven, announce that you, Anastasia Long, daughter of Edward Long, have the opportunity to join this coven. Do you accept?"
"I do," I answered.
Robert nodded.
"Do you promise to respect the other members and report to the council if you see anyone doing something wrong?"
"I do," again I answered. Robert nodded.
He put out his hands as if in prayer; his hand shone, with a white light. A silver ball appeared in his hands. He handed me the ball. As soon as he did, the ball started to speak.
"Anastasia Long, daughter of Edward Long, you are strong and unique. You will love those around you, but you shall have more powers than anyone else, not just in your coven, but the world. Therefore it seems befitting, that you rule. You shall rule the seven kingdoms; you will rule all the covens in the world."
The ball disappeared, and I felt a tingling through my body. I felt elevated, like I could fly. The tingling feeling disappeared, and I felt normal once again. I looked towards Robert; he had now left Damon's body. Damon was smiling. He stepped to me.
"Let me be the first to congratulate you on joining the coven." Damon kissed the back of my hand, and I smiled, looking down at the floor.
For the next two days, I learned about the different abilities I had and how to use each one. I learned how to blink, which is to teleport from one spot to another in the blink of an eye. It was handy when you were in a hurry, but you could only blink to places you had seen, as you had to picture the place in your mind.
I learned how to do spells as well. Robert stayed for two days, teaching me everything he knew. I was grateful. Damon, however, just watched. As a vampire, there really wasn't much he could do. Damon would leave whenever he needed to feed, and he would come back to see the progress we had made in the hour he had been gone.
After two days, I was ready. It was time to go to the other realm and defeat Thomas. As I had said before, I had no desire to become leader; I just wanted revenge. Thomas had not only killed Annabelle, but he was also the reason I never knew my parents. He had to die, and as far as I was concerned, the sooner the better.
I had also learned what my trait was. A trait is an extra power a witch has, a power that only some possess. Mine was to be able to break bones. I could break your bones just by looking at you. Are you scared yet?
According to Damon, Annabelle's son, Frederick, had the same trait. Yes, I know. So what, right? I already knew, but I didn't want to upset Damon any more than I already had, so I just nodded, as if to say, "That's great."
Damon and I made our way down into the cave. Robert, of course, decided he would meet us there. He's a ghost; he doesn't need to walk at mortal speed. Of course, neither did we. I mean, I had seen the other realm; I could've blinked, and Damon is a vampire; he has vampire speed. But I wanted to spend as much time with him as I possibly could. Who knows whether we will later? Once Annabelle's memories are gone, I might not even like Damon like that, and maybe we'll never see each other again.
"So what's the plan?" Damon asked, breaking the silence.
"I'll just blink into his office and wing it," I shrugged. Damon stopped walking and looked angry.
"Please tell me you're kidding," he pleaded.
"Of course I'm kidding. Don't worry about the plan, Damon. Let's go." I got hold of his hand and pulled him along. We got to the cave wall. I took a deep breath and walked through, still holding Damon's hand.

Ooh, what will happen? Will Anastasia kill Thomas? Or will she be killed? And what about Damon and their love?
