CH63 Kingdom of Antarctica

With breakfast over it was time to leave, luckily Damon had been to Antarctica before, so he could blink us, I was grateful for that, we blinked outside a palace, and I gasped, the palace, it seemed, was made of ice, we walked towards the door and two wolves stopped us, no not wolves warewolves
"Queen Anastasia, king Damon, Dylan and Charlie, here to see king Benjamin" Damon bowed, we all followed suit and bowed, one wolf nodded his head, turned, and started walking inside, all of us straightened and followed him, the palace on the inside was ice too the furniture, luckily, wasn't made of ice, there was no door leading to the throne room, it seemed this place had no doors, I guessed it must be hard to make doors using ice,
"Ahhh, queen Anastasia, king Damon how lovely to see you, I must say you look beautiful, queen Anastasia, as always" king Benjamin greeted as he stood from his throne, a woman stood next to his throne and she was staring daggers at me, I stepped closer to my mate, trying to show her I didn't care for the king
"King Benjamin, I take it you've forgotten South America then?" I asked not giving him my hand to shake, but Damon gave him a hand so it was ok
"I apologise for that Anastasia" Benjamin began
"Queen Anastasia" I reminded him menacingly
"Queen Anastasia, I'm sorry" he smiled although the smile didn't reach his eyes "Allow me to introduce my wife" the woman next to the throne came over
"Queen Rosemary" she introduced herself, I shook her hand I noticed she didn't look happy, weather she was angry at me, or they had, had a fight I didn't know, but I decided to leave it alone
"Spencer!!" King Benjamin shouted, to which I covered my ears "sorry" the king apologised, a man walked in "show these people to their rooms" he instructed the man
"This way, your majesties" the man led us away from the door less throne room
"I'm going to slip" I announced as I looked at the steps leading up
"You won't, your majesty" Spencer announced, I took a step up and realised it wasn't slippery at all, in fact nowhere in the palace was slippery, it was amazing
"I want a palace like this" I told Damon
"It would melt within a day" he whispered in my ear, I just shrugged.
We were shown to our rooms, the walls were ice, but nothing else was, the room even had a door, for which I was grateful
"You may go back to doing what you were doing, Spencer, we will find our own way back" Damon told Spencer as he placed our bag on the bed "Very well, your majesty" Spencer bowed, as he walked away, I closed the wooden door as Damon was rummaging through our bag, but when I closed the door I was pushed against it, the breath was knocked out of me
"Damon" I whispered as he nibbled my neck and shoulders, he held my hands in place, I couldn't move "Damon" I whispered again, it seemed my mate had become deaf, as he kissed my neck it felt wet, I turned my head to see my mate crying, I used my strength to push him away from me, I turned around and saw that my mate was definitely crying
"What's wrong?" I asked him worriedly, trying to think what could have made him cry, "Damon? Please, what happened? Why are you crying? Please talk to me" I nearly cried too, Damon kissed my hand and smiled
"It's nothing baby, I'm fine" he tried to shut me out
"No, no Damon don't do that, don't shut me out please, please tell me what's wrong" I cried
"Hey no don't cry baby, it's just, you asked for a castle made of ice and I turned you down"
"Damon that was a joke, I don't really want a palace made of ice"
"Wait, really?" Damon seemed amazed, I nodded, he chuckled lightly, as he shook his head "sorry" he said sheepishly I hugged him and kissed him, and bit his lip for good measure.
Damon washed his face before we left the room and began walking towards the throne room, we walked hand in hand, smiling and talking quietly
"A queen doesn't dress in tshirts and jeans" queen Rosemary mocked I looked down at my attire
"Oh I didn't know running seven kingdoms was measured by clothes" I told her
"I can teach you how to be a queen" she smiled at me
"No thankyou, I have a great teacher, I'm very happy with her" I told her so as not to hurt her
"Well clearly this teacher isn't teaching you the proper way" Rosemary shrieked
"As queen, I wear what I like, I'm in charge, if others don't like it I don't care" I shrugged and before she could say anything else I carried on talking "king Benjamin, I hope you know tomorrow I shall speak to your staff, everybody that works here in the palace must be present, even the warewolves outside, you and your queen must not be here when my companions and I are talking to your staff" I spoke like a queen should, right?
"But that's not fair" Rosemary shrieked "you can't kick us out of our own throne room, you have no right
"Well, as hard as it may be for a child queen, like yourself, to comprehend, the world doesn't run on fair" I smiled as she looked angry "and besides those are the rules"
"It will be arranged, your majesty" Benjamin stood up and spoke before his wife could.
I noticed no one was wearing warm clothing, everyone just wore normal clothes, and even I didn't feel cold, so as we were being shown round I looked through a window, I could see the snow outside we were definitely in Antarctica, so why weren't we feeling cold?
"Spencer" I got out tour guides attention, Spencer stopped walking and looked at me "Why am I not cold? I mean I see the snow outside, I know I've come to a very cold place, so why do I not feel cold?" I asked him
"Magic, your majesty, our witches make sure that we always feel warm, the castle doesn't melt because its very cold, but we don't feel cold because of the magic" he smiled I smiled in understanding and the tour continued
"I think it's awesome" Charlie said, I agreed with him.
The tour ended in the dining hall, I gasped when I saw the dining table made of ice, the chairs, thankfully, were wooden but the table was amazing, food was served, fried fish, fried fish, and more fried fish, I didn't mind fried fish, not really, but there was nothing else, no chips, no sauce, nothing
"The only food we get here is fish" Benjamin announced sounding sorry
"It looks exquisite" I told him with a smile, the king too smiled, and we took our seats the king sat at the head and his wife sat on his right, Damon sat on his left, I sat next to Damon and Charlie and Dylan sat next to me, the fish wasn't the best I'd ever had but it wasn't the worst either, I guessed that even spices were hard to come by around here, as well as vegetables
"So after this, which kingdom is next?" Benjamin asked as he took a bite of his fish
"Oh, um this is the last one" I told him as I swallowed my bite of fish
"I see, so what's next?" Benjamin asked
"I'm not sure" I told him with a shrug
"Huh, a good queen always plans ahead" Rosemary huffed
"And a good consort knows when to be quiet" I told her sweetly, Damon touched my hand trying to calm me down, I was calm, I took another bite of the fish, I kept taking a sip of wine with mostly every bite, the fish wasn't dry, but because there was no flavour it was hard to swallow
"More wine?" A butler asked, standing next yo me
"No thank-you" I answered, the butler nodded and walked back to his place.
Once food was done king Benjamin offered to give us a tour of the coven, as there was nothing to do, of course Rosemary decided to join us, so we were now outside in the cold, all six of us, but only Dylan, Charlie and I were shivering, I guessed magic kept the king and queen warm, and being a vampire would also help
"Feeling a little cold, your majesty?" Rosemary mocked
"No Rosemary, I'm freezing" my teeth chattered
"Come here" Damon offered he hugged me close and tried to warm me up it wasn't working
"Here let me see if I have my warming potion with me" Benjamin offered as he searched his pockets, warming potion? Cool
"No hunny you need your potion for yourself don't waste it" Rosemary advised her husband looking at me
"It's fine I can always make more, aha, here it is, drink up your majesty" Benjamin offered me a small vile containing a yellow liquid, "sorry I only have one on me" he looked apologetically towards Dylan and Charlie.
"It's fine we're lycans, your majesties would you mind if we transformed?" Dylan asked, his teeth were chattering, Benjamin and Rosemary said it was fine, I gratefully took the potion and with a thanks I drank it, it tasted cold, like my tongue would go numb, when I swallowed my throat felt cool, and my stomach, but then the warmth spread I smiled
"The potion will last for three hours" the king told me
"Thank-you" I smiled, Dylan and Charlie were now polar bears, and their fur was whiter than the snow, I noticed there were so many people around "do they not get cold?" I asked the king
"No queen Anastasia, they all use potions to keep warm"
"I bet you don't even know what a potion is, some witch you are" Rosemary mocked
"Ok" I stopped walking "What the hell is your problem?" People were staring at us, as I shouted
"Queen Anastasia, let's do this later" Benjamin whispered
"No, your wife has been insulting me from the moment we got here, I want to know what her problem is" I asked with hands on hips
"Alright, you come here batting your eyelashes at my husband, you flirt with him, even though you have a mate, it's disgusting" Rosemary was talking rubbish
"Are you serious right now? You think I'm flirting with the man who wanted me to break up with my mate"
"I know what girls like you are like, what you have isn't enough so you want more" she cried in anger
"More? I already have more than I can handle, I hate your husband, I loath him" I shouted
"Well we know that's not true" she crossed her arms
"Explain" I told her not liking this pointless arguing
"Benjamin told me what happened in South America, don't deny it"
"Ok we really should leave for the castle now" Benjamin interrupted, now I was curious
"What happened in South America Benjamin?" I asked the king, I was calm now
"Go on hunny say it so even her mate knows the truth" Rosemary smiled wickedly
"Yes go on Benjamin, what happened?" I asked smiling as I knew nothing happened
"Um, uh, uh" Benjamin seemed to be lost for words
"Um, uh, uh? Geez no wonder you're so jealous Rosemary I would be too" I mocked "I have an idea, Rosemary do you mind if I compell your husband, you see he seems to have forgotten what he told you, so if I compell him he'll remember" I took a step towards the king
"No wait" Benjamin took a step back "I lied, ok? Nothing happened, the queen and I weren't even left in the same room together alright I lied" Rosemary gasped, I didn't even want to know what he had said about me
"Why? Why would you lie?" Rosemary whispered Benjamin shook his head in defeat
"She mocked us, all of us, had her own vote, I hated it, I hated that a woman should have that much power, so I lied about her to you, because you seemed to like her so much, you were looking forward to meeting her you kept talking about how much fun you were going to have, I hated it, so I lied to you" Benjamin would've continued but Rosemary blinked away. Damon and I started walking back to the palace and the polar bears followed knowing this tour was over. Once we got to the entrance Dylan and Charlie transformed to their human selves and when the warewolves saw us they let us in by moving to the side, I bowed as a thank-you.
