CH14 Friendships are forged

It had been a couple of weeks since we had helped the warewolves, Damon and Matt had become closer, and tonight as we were watching a movie, Damon got a phone call from Matt, it was a full moon once again in two days and once again Matt needed Damon, Damon promised he would blink to the pack house at nine, Matt was happy, it had gotten easier for Damon, he had been worried being around all those wolves on their territory, but he was now getting used to being close to them, it had been nice to see wolves not growling at my mate whenever they saw him.
Wednesday came and Damon prepared to leave for Matts place, Damon turned to me
"Do you need to feed before I go?" He asked me I shook my head
"I don't need to feed, but if you're offering..." I said, a smile on my lips as I played with his shirt, Damon chuckled
"I really need to go" he moaned out I knew he would rather stay here
"I'll be here when you get back" I promised, I then kissed him passionately and as he kissed me back I bit his lip earning a hiss, making me smile, our foreheads touched and we were breathing heavily,
"I'll see you in the morning" Damon whispered
"Mmhmm" was all I said before Damon blinked away, I sighed it was nearly nine, it was too early to go to bed, I decided to phone Dylan.
"Hello?" Dylan answered his phone
"Hey, you busy?" I asked
"Uh, no? Why?"
"Oh I was wondering if you and Charlie would like to come over" I offered
"Oh yeah sounds good, but Charlie isn't here, he's going to be gone all week" Dylan sounded a little upset
"Oh well, Damon isn't here either, so it'll be just the two of us, what do you think?"
"Ok, I'll be there in fifteen" Dylan promised before hanging up, I was going to say that I would blink to his instead but he hung up before I could get the words out, I put my phone away, I walked to the kitchen and decided to prepare some snacks, I got drinks, biscuits, crisps, nuts, and pretzels, it took me three trips to the sitting room from the kitchen but I managed, I looked down at my attire, I was wearing a black and white striped dress with black tights, coming to the conclusion that I was presentable I plopped down on the sofa, there were still five minutes left before Dylan would get here, I huffed, I wondered if there was a magical reason time went so slow sometimes, I smiled and squealed as I heard Dylan outside, I ran to the door and opened it before the lycan could knock
"Powerful hearing?" Dylan smiled, his hand was still raised as he had been about to knock, I moved to the side to allow him entry, he thanked me and walked to the sitting room, he sat down and saw the t.v screen, it was on the Netflix page, Dylan just smirked "so where's Damon?" He asked knowing the vampire wasn't home
"He's with Matt" I shrugged as I popped a walnut into my mouth, Dylans smile fell
"Oh" was all he said he seemed upset
"Dylan are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine" he lied
"Look Dylan everytime I get upset you console me, you help me, you never let me stay upset, please let me return the favour" I said with my hand on his shoulder,
"I don't do that for favours" he shrieked as he stood up, I stood too
"I know, I know, let me be there for you, please" I tried again, Dylan huffed
"I just, I'm scared, I don't like this feeling" he sniffed, he sounded so defeated, I pushed him to sit on the sofa again
"Please talk to me" I whispered as I stroked his back, I poured him a whiskey, he smiled when I handed it to him
"Thanks" his voice was back to normal, he took a sip of the liquid, put the glass down and turned to me "You must think I'm pathetic" he groaned out
"If you think that you don't know me at all" I told him, I would never call my brother pathetic, I would never even think it, he laughed nodding his head "What's wrong? Talk to me brother" I emphasised the word brother to show him what I thought of him
"Damon and Matt?" He shrugged I furrowed my eyebrows
"You're jealous" I squinted my eyes at him accusingly
"I was here first, I was his best friend first, and then Matt comes along and, and...Oh gods I do sound pathetic" Dylan brushed a hand down his face, making me laugh, I actually laughed, Dylan turned to me, and squinted at me, making me laugh harder, he rolled his eyes and folded his arms as I sobered up
"Dylan, you and Damon will always be best friends, Damon may be Matts best friend, but you're Damons best friend, he loves you, there's a special place in his heart for you" I told him getting all sentimental, but it wasn't going to work
"Best friend? Matt was his brother in a past life, how can I compete with that?" Dylan shouted, I put a calming hand on his thigh
"Look, Neither of them remember the past life, and Matt is a great guy, why don't you try to get to know him better, you two were best friends before Damon came along, if anything it should be Damon jealous of your relationship with Matt" I laughed.
Dylan said nothing for a while
"I don't even know him" Dylan shrugged I rolled my eyes
"Then get to know him, friendships do not fall from the sky, friendships are forged" I smiled, Dylan squinted at me, I rolled my eyes "my dad used to say that whenever I cried about not having friends, he used to tell me that one day I would meet people that would jump in fire for me" I smiled sadly at the memory
"Wise man" Dylan commented "You're right, I'm sorry" Dylan sighed, we hugged, and then sat to watch a movie, we ate, we laughed, and we talked all the while enjoying 'The Matrix'.
