Chapter 34

Lucky for Melissa, it seems to be Sunday, which means a free day for her. Last night's event kept on replaying itself in her brain and she couldn't do anything about it because she had agreed.

Before the agreement, Melissa could just change her mind. The whole stuff and decided to just work as the dancer. Not only the money caught her attention, dancing for Williams seems tempting.

Lazily, she rolled over her phone to put off her alarm that had been beeping for the past 1 hour. For a long time, she had not attended the church for she thinks nothing happens when she goes. When her mother was alive, she force the whole family to attend church, or she goes alone and lock them out.

Melissa had not seen Karen yet and she deeply hopes the blonde stays where ever she decided to hook up.

It's been almost an extra hour and she is still lat on the bed like a lazy puppy, wishing she had magic so she could make herself breakfast, was up, arrange her room, make her dance rehearsal alone. Most of the time, she thinks she gets better when she just spent some time with the music loud and dancing alone.

Only that this very morning, she has so many things to do, most especially, practice her erotic dance.

Her phone vibrated beneath her, causing her to spring up and fell to the floor, hard.

"Fuck!" She cussed "Can't I have a free day without this?".

With the anger and pain of the hand been bruised a little, Melissa picked up her phone, hoping it was someone else so she could tell the person and tell the person how much she wish to spank his or her ass right now. But sadly, and funny enough, it's her dad!

   "Hey," she said awkwardly.

The silence was unbearable for a while, seeing her father would not talk, she decided to take the lead, thinking, after all, she had given the poor man too much to worry about.

"I am sorry I couldn't call back yesterday" She picked at her nose "I was at work, you know it's a new job right?".

She fans her face with her free palm, feeling uncomfortable talking to her dad who now develops a strange voice and a sudden amount of care, and a funny accent.

" I came back tired and slept off" she paused for a while again, seeking a nice way to say what she wants to say "Daddy?"
She crossed her free hand under her bare breast as she walks around the room.

"I can hear you, sweetheart". The funny response comes from the phone.

" What happened to you?" She scratches her head, feeling awkward.

"Wh- i- hmm- I don't understand what you are talking about" The dad stuttered "Can you please be more specific?"

With a weird look on her face as she stood in front of her room window, admiring her hips that seems to be speedingly protruding. She smiled at the fulfilled look and went back to her talk.

"You sound strange Nicolas" She raised her voice "You hardly talk to me since mum died, much more been nice".

Her harsh statement hurt more than what she had expected, for her dad was left speechless for a very long time. He seemed to be trying to find the words to use or defend himself or maybe apologize.

" Melissa?" His strange rough voice echoed "I know that we have not been best buddies but I mean everything good for you".

" What happened to you, Nicolas?". She seemed strict "Let's behave like adults, no matter what the problem is I won't be sad"

She stayed still, waiting for him to say something but he just kept quiet. Even if he had something silly to say, just a common apology would go a long way since she had already seemed to forgive him.

"Are you sick, Dad?". She intoned, may e that was why he is trying to act good so he can make heaven

She heard her father chuckles before he finally " You are always my annoying redhead daughter" He laughed again for another one minute "I told you before, I'm having cartah and I got a new job too".

Melissa gave the lame statement some silence before she walked to her bathroom, she put on the tap, let the tub fill with her shoulder, and left ear holding the phone as she undress.

"Do not tell me you have been in the toilet" her dad seems to find a good talk to change the topic "I can perceive that awful smell".

Melissa burst Into laughter, she laughed that her face became hot and red. Like how on earth would her father be able to perceive what doesn't exist.

"Oh no!" He yelled, "It's getting worst!".

"I just stepped in the bathtub, Dad," she said midst laughter "I haven't poo for four days now".

Even Melissa could hear the awkwardness in what she just said but she just said it nevertheless. From straining her ears, she could hear him slapping something, maybe the table or his lap, laughing as she had never heard him laugh before.

Minutes later, she heard the noise of the door opening and popping sounds, like pop sounds of heels.

"Do you have a Mistress" The disgust in her voice was visible causing him to laugh more "Dad? You are making me feel bad".

'Fuck! That sounds so cute' Williams thought.

"Why would I do such Darling?" He sounds serious "I don't want you to be angry after mum left, I have never been myself".

Melissa felt bad, she had been taking this 'losing mum' issue too personally and was too selfish not to notice her father's grief.

"I have never been so broken in my life" he added, "And it killed my social life".

"Was that why getting a job hard for you?" She stepped Into the tub.

Her Dad paused, it almost seemed like it was a foreign idea "Oh yeah!" He said awkwardly "I couldn't get myself to work without thinking about you".

Melissa's face went darker shades of pink, apart from her mother, no one had ever thought about her.
" About me??" She needs to be sure.

"Yes Melissa" he confirmed, "Mum Is late, but you are all I have now, if lose you too, I won't be able to forgive myself".

Finally, the moment Melissa had wanted for long, where her father would choose her for who she really is not just pity sake. Her stepdad love her so much but she never noticed.

"I don't care if you love me but I love you so much Melissa Harts," he said, "And I deeply which you could bear my name".

   "I love you too, Dad".

Her dad chuckled "Can you say that without adding dad? It kinda feels funny".

Melissa giggled, she wasn't getting the message it sent for she was so happy getting a father that loves hike she had always wished for.

"I love you too" She beamed.

Before she could say all that was in her mind, her dad offered to call her later and ended the call. Leaving her to wish to do a video call silent.

Seconds after she had dropped her phone, it rang again.

   "Dad?". She seems surprised.

"For your stubborn stomach" He chuckled, "I think a lot of fruit would be okay".

Melissa giggled, she thought he had forgotten about it.
"I have a full park of orange juice in the fridge" she suggested.

"Try all of it at once, I think it should help if you have kind intestines" He sounds uncertain "Them always take a lot of water".

An extremely beautiful smile spread across her face, she seems like the happiest person alive. She never thought about the kind of family reunion she watches and read novels about become real.

"Be a good girl and stay away from bad boys".

She kept on smiling at his last words, right for the onset he had been against her having male friends more bad ones.
If only she could tell him about Michael and Williams he would have many things to tell.

Slowly, singing her happy song from Nicki Minja's playlist, she can't into the tub. Wishing so many things.

Wishing her mother was alive, and she could smile as she and Nikolas talk about bad boys. She wishes she knew her real father, then she would let him know the kind of looser her and become for letting her without a father.

Another good news, she had no assignment, not a must that she must practice her dances, Karen had still not shown up and!

She got two emails, to participate in contemporary dance and a violin and ballet competition.
Both on different days but the prizes are wonderful.

Even when contemporary dance seems difficult, she thinks putting it to practice would make her the best dancer she gas wants to become. And not just in ballet, but in many more.

"Gest today is never a bad day after all".
