Chapter 60

Melissa couldn't wait to be told she would be in dept if she wait any longer. Since she refused Williams proposal, narrowly escape Michael's second death, she had been evading her friends and Williams.

The fear alone that Michael might come for her made her keep her location hidden. For the past three weeks, she had been doing things the way she wants. Just like how she feels, in due time, Michael will get her back and she will never be free again.

The way she watched him kill Luciano and Rosie made her fear for her life but she still want to leave her life the way she might be able to tell her children she did try her best to enjoy.

Since lectures stopped days ago all she had to do is work to save up for rents. She always made sure to keep her phone off and dance for an unknown club every night. She gets to pay for different hotels to pass the night and send the remaining into her savings.

Deep down, Melissa knew that wasn't the type of life her late mother would have planned for her. She didn't even plan such a life for herself.

Mistakes young people make are sometimes the cheque of their life. It's either it bounce or pay, one must be the order of the day.

The cool evening breeze kiss Melissa's skin, sending her red hair in different directions and her young misleaded mind down to good memory lane ahe never had.

Her wish to become a great dancer and celebrity seems to be flushed down the drain by her. Just a mistake that she made cost her the youthful age she had wanted to enjoy.

She walked back into the hotel room to change her clothes, getting ready for tonight's dance. She knew she could not continue like that and have to stop but doesn't know how to.

For she had failed so many people and they had given up on her. Maybe her real father knew how she would behave that he asked her mother to get rid of her. Or she had given the woman so much problem that lead her to die young. She does not want to think about her step Dad or Molly, people she had always used and put the blame on them.

Dressed in a skimpy red dress, Melissa grabbed her usual hoodie and purse. She had never gone out without it or black glass, trying to hide her identity. Since she is in Chicago, getting found by Michael or his brother won't be a problem unless she stay low, as low as an ex-convict.

On her way to leave the room, she caught glimpse of the television remote and got tempted to see if there would be any news of her or her friends decided to get rid of her too. If they choose to dump her, she deserved it! At least they had been through a lot of pressure for her, especially Molly.

She put on the television as she began to arrange her things back into her bag. She had stayed there for two nights and fear that someone might have followed her. She kept changing the channels until she got hold of what looked like her face.

"I didn't expect them to go that far!" She snorted.

She threw down her purse and began to loot her bag looking for her drugs. She had been on self medication for a week now and she is scared to go to the hospital.

The sound and remembrance of how Williams had pulled the trigger with her in Michael's arm sacred her to death. What if the bullet had pushed through her skull instead of Michael? If Michael is dead then why is she still hiding or terrified of Williams when she can trust him to keep her a bit protected before the cobs reach for him.

She put the pills in her mouth and rushed to the bathroom to take water, but as soon as the pills were about to go down her throat, she threw up every thing comprising the pizza she had for lunch.

Melissa sat on the washroom floor as she threw up more, becoming weak and vulnerable each second. Thinking that she might die, she crawled to the room and began to search for her phone but couldn't find it.

"His name is Michael Hughes," the news broadcaster said, catching her attention "Please where every you see him, report to the nearest police station or call this number to save the life of our young ballerina, Melissa Harts"

    Pathetic!
"So Williams would lie over his brother he had killed to get people to find me?" She thought.

She resume searching for the purse till she suddenly felt something rushing up to her throat. She waited, hoping it would go down but it increased, before she could reach the washroom she had threw up all over the floor.

"This can't be happening now" she cried "I can't be pregnant"

She rushed back to the room and noticed her purse sitting alone on the neatly arranged bed.

"Gat ya" she gasps as she grabbed it and runs outside.

She was surprise not to get weird stares from people as she ran to the pharmacy. It felt like every other day where everyone mind their business while some stare at her red hair she had forgotten to cover.

She rushed back to the hotel and dived straight to the washroom with the pregnancy test kit she brought. She couldn't stop shaking as she ended up peeing all over her hand and the kit.

"This will do," she said to herself. She didn't mind about ruining her already wet dress, as she sat on the floor and wait for the result ignoring the noise that was coming from the room.

Melissa slapped both hands over her mouth to stop herself from screaming as she cried. The two red lines of a positive pregnancy show, haunting her dreams and choking her breath.

"Melissa!" Williams gasped as he rushed to her.

Getting overwhelmed by the test result and how nosey some people might be, she dropped the result in the closet and dropped.

The sound of beeping and smell of hand sanitizer attacked Melissa, she shifted to feel hands holding hers. She slowly opened her eyes to see Sam and Leah crying over her.

    'I'm sorry guys" she sniffed.

Leah screamed, she pulled Melissa into a tight hug before Sam could do the same. They kept smiling, removing her hair from her face.

"Thank God for the good hotel staff that noticed Michael always following you" Sam said.

Melissa became puzzled, she attempted to sit up but Leah held her down.

"Don't stress baby Williams" she kissed Melissa's stomach "Bad news Michael got away, can't believe he has so many criminal charges"

"What are you talking about?" Melissa stared at both girls in awe who had the same look like hers "I- I don't understand"

"It's okay," Sam said "You don't have to be, we are sorry we were too drunk to miss your engagement"

   "Engagement?!" Melissa gasped.

Leah cracked up, she looked at Melissa in pity and kissed her forehead.
"Michael must have tortured you so bad that you act the way" she raised Melissa's left hand where she sat and smiled at the beautiful Diamond ring "I wish Spencer would propose to me but he said till I finish college"

Tear filled Melissa eyes, she kept starting at the girls talk, they keep giggling and screaming, kissing all over her face and hand.

"Guys" Melissa whispered "You all need to get something right"

Sam went rigid, same as Leah for the first time she acted serious because of the scared look on Melissa's face.

"Williams" Melissa paused, she choked in her tears and swallowed "Williams is-"

"Hey, babe!" Williams rushed to her "I thought I lost you" he pretend to cry "I promise I won't leave your side again"

Leah interlocked her finger, pushed her hands down and look at her back with one of her leg up.

"Awwwww!" She squeaked "This is so romantic" she blinked back tears as Williams kissed Melissa for a long time "Let's give mommy and daddy some privacy" she said to Sam as she pushed her out.

Sam protests "Not fair! We won't get to see her much when she goes to Spain!" She yelled as Leah shot the door.

Melissa went cold, she flinched as Williams trace his finger on her arm.
"Don't do this Williams" she pleaded "I have a life to claim if I win the contemporary dance"

Williams smiled, he stared at Melissa's Brown eyes in silence before he bent to kiss her. He noticed she went stiff and wouldn't kiss him back.

"I can't go to Spain now " Melissa whispered "I don't have a pass port"

"I did that when we were still looking for you" Williams whispered back "And you would have to use my private jet"

Melissa swallowed, tears filled her brown eyes but she wouldn't let them waste, she blinked back angrily and sniffed loud.

"You don't have the power to make me follow you" she snorted.

"I can, I will, and I have" Williams smiled "I love you and you are carrying the new  heir to the most powerful Mafia lord in Spain and Chicago"
