“You have to tell me!” Brian was again blocking Lyn's path in the lobby of her apartment.

Lyn looked at Brian in annoyance. Brian had been bothering her the last few days. The man appeared everywhere, trying to pry into any secrets that Lyn might be hiding.

“I can have the police arrest you if you keep stalking and harassing me like this.”

“There's no need to be like that!” Brian sighed in frustration. “I just need an answer.”

“Didn't I already answer you? You keep asking why I seduced you that night. I already answered, maybe because I'm in the mood for sex, period! That's all my answer, but you still keep bothering me. What answer do you really want?”

“Because your answer is a lie!” Brian glared at Lyn. “Tell me the truth, Lyn, or I'll keep bothering you.”

“Fuck, okay!” Lyn half screamed, couldn't take it anymore. “I seduced you because A… I mean, White told me to. He wants to make Laurel catch you making love to me!”

“Why would Mr. White want you to do that? What does he want from Laurel?”

Lyn groaned. Brian will not stop digging for information and she has accidentally leaked important information to this man. Geez! Aaron would be very, very angry with her.

“I do not know. He asked me and I did. I didn't ask what the purpose was and why. If you really want to know, ask Mr White yourself!” Lyn tossed her hair and turned around, then stopped and gave Brian a warning look. “Don't bother me again, Brian, or I'll report you to the police for your unpleasant behavior. I'm not kidding!” she shouted before walking away, leaving Brian there pensive.

Brian's brow furrowed at the thought of Lyn's answer. His heart was beating fast. So all the assumptions are true. All this had been planned by Mr. White. The man had probably been after Laurel from the start and had intended to get rid of him, albeit in a sneaky way.

Brian gritted his teeth. He had been framed and humiliated in front of Laurel, with no chance to defend himself. Then Laurel just dumped him to marry Mr White.

Brian will not stand still. He will take revenge, when the time is right.

“I want you to get pregnant soon.”

Aaron smiled while rubbing Laurel's stomach. They were lying down, getting ready for bed after their hot and passionate romance. Their bodies were naked under the covers, hugging each other tightly.

Laurel who was already half asleep in Aaron's arms immediately woke up hearing that. Pregnant, carrying Aaron's child. The thought felt so good to her. Having children from Aaron in the future, handsome and exotic with dark hair and sparkling eyes, would surely be a joy.

“Do you want to bear my children?”

“Of course, Aaron.” Laurel smiled and lifted her head, looking at her husband gently. “You're my husband. Who do you think I want to bear if it's not yours?”

Aaron laughed, a deep, sexy laugh that sounded soft to the ears. “Then we have to work hard on it.”

Laurel raised her eyebrows. “You do it morning, noon, evening and night; how can that be considered less active?”

Aaron's laughter filled the room. He hugged Laurel gently, praying that this happiness would never end.

All the servants have returned home this morning and activities are going on as usual. Laurel is in the kitchen learning to make coconut cakes with Chris. Suddenly a commotion came from the hallway, which could not help but reach the kitchen. It was Aaron's voice, the man was cursing on the phone.

Cursing?

“How could she possibly escape? This is a private island, not just anyone can come here!” anger was clearly reflected in the man's voice.

The voice on the other end answered, sounding frantically trying to explain, but then Aaron cut him sharply. “Just shut up, let's talk about the carelessness that your men made later. You'll have to bear all this, later, once I'm done with this!”

Aaron hung up the phone harshly, making Laurel feel sorry for whoever he was talking to on the phone. A few seconds later the kitchen door opened and Aaron walked in with a serious face.

“Laurel!” Aaron called from the far end of the kitchen, making Laurel, who was dusting with flour and helping Chris shape the cake in the mould, turn.

“Yes, Aaron?”

“Come here, I want to talk.”

Aaron had never been this stiff when speaking to her, making Laurel frown. Is the man angry? To whom? To her? Cautiously she stepped out of the kitchen, following him to the side porch. He stood there, pacing with a huff on his face.

“What's the matter, Aaron?”

The man stepped closer to Laurel and grabbed her shoulders, bringing her close to him. “My men messed up. We have guests. Not a pleasant guest, but we were forced to accommodate her a few days out of courtesy. I hope you'll understand.”

Laurel nodded her head, qlittle relieved to hear Aaron's words. So just because of that problem? A guest, even though it felt odd to have come on their honeymoon, didn't seem to be a big deal. Laurel could definitely deal with it. Then why was Aaron still looking so pissed off?

Aaron who was still gripping Laurel's shoulders let out an annoyed sigh. “She was no ordinary guest. She might have come to mess around, just as Aamber had predicted. I'm sorry, honey, I didn't expect her to be so bold, following me here."

“Who is she?” Laurel turned wary, because Aaron seemed so serious about this one guest.

He looked at her bitterly. “She's my ex-girlfriend, Laurel. My man said he couldn't stop her from coming here. Now she is on her way by boat here. Forgive me.”

To think that Aaron had an ex-girlfriend before, who of course also shared intimate things with the man, really made the whole thing feel weird. Laurel should have been prepared for that.

Alin had once told her that Aaron had had several girlfriends with whom he had no status. Laurel might have forgotten all about it if things weren't like this; a desperate ex-lover seems determined to get Aaron back… and Laurel must face her.

God. Why did she have to be in this situation? What should she do? Confused, Laurel dialed Alin's cell phone number. In the second ring the cell phone was picked up.

“What's wrong, sweet? Have you come back from your honeymoon yet?”

“No, Alin, I want to ask you something.”

“About what?”

“About Aaron's ex-girlfriend.”

For a moment Alin was stunned on the other side, then muttered doubtfully, “Well, hun, I think when we are married to someone, there is no need to bring up the past, let alone look for information about our partner's ex-girlfriend—”

“It's not like that, Alin! I'm not looking to delve into Aaron's past. I just want to know who I have to deal with. Aaron's ex-girlfriend, somehow, seems disapproved of this marriage and somehow managed to catch up to this island. She's on her way here and will be here soon!”

“What?” Alin screamed angrily. “Who is that shameless woman?”

“Aaron said her name was Clarissa.”

“Clarissa… oh, fucking shit!” Alin's voice was swallowed on the other side.

Laurel frowned, suddenly attacked by a bad feeling because of Alin's silence. “What's wrong, Alin? Why are you silent?”

“Because the ex-girlfriend you will face is the toughest enemy.” Alin took a deep breath. “Clarissa could be said to be Mr White's permanent lover. He always came back to her. Clarissa is a tough, independent woman who doesn't seem to need a man and her relationship with Mr. White is purely for pleasure. However, she doesn't seem willing to let Mr White belong to another woman, because she is used to having him all to herself.” Alin took a deep breath. “She is very good at intimidating her opponent. Be careful, Laurel, lest you get pressured under her aura!”

Laurel sighed as her conversation with Alin ended. Turns out Aaron's upcoming ex-girlfriend is the greatest of them all. Laurel's heart skipped a beat with anticipation. Looking forward to what will happen next.

_______________

When the woman entered the house, with her suitcases carried by the servants, Laurel who was standing behind Aaron felt that her nightmare had really come. How could she possibly face this woman? She was like a goddess who came from heaven. Her whole being is perfect. From the way she dresses classy, her perfect body is beautiful, her face shape is classic and sensual, framed by long beautiful shiny hair, even the shape of her eyebrows is perfect.

Laurel watched silently and felt tired all of a sudden.

“Why did you come here, Clare?” Aaron, who greeted Clarissa first, was wary and unfriendly.

Clarissa looked at Aaron and smiled sweetly. “Why don't you come and hug me like you always do, Aaron? I miss your hugs.” Clarissa's voice was low and sexy. “And why did I come here? It's because I miss you. I came home from overseas and await your call. Normally you would call and see me, I was looking forward to spending some alone time with you, but you didn't visit me. Then I heard you were on the island, so I followed you here.”

Clarissa was clearly aware of Laurel's presence behind Aaron, but that didn't stop her from using her vulgar and seductive words to Aaron. Doesn't Clarissa know that Aaron and Laurel are married?

Laurel sighed and turned her gaze to Aaron. Her husband didn't seem to like Clarissa's words. The man backed away, as if guarding Laurel from Clarissa's attack.

“I'm on my honeymoon, Clarissa, with my wife!”

“Oh?” Clarissa didn't seem surprised. That meant that she already knew that Laurel was Aaron's wife. How cruel she would have been to say those seductive words then.

“No problem for me.” Clarissa's voice was sweet. “I want to meet you, Aaron, not your wife.”

With graceful steps she approached and stood in front of Aaron and Laurel. Her eyes deliberately traced Laurel up and down. Laurel was of course not the same as Clarissa; she wasn't wearing designer clothes, just a loose white shirt and faded jeans.

Clarissa's smile was then more like a scornful smile. “Laurel is not your wife's name.” Clarissa smiled sweetly at Aaron, as if she didn't think Laurel existed. “I remember my sweet times when I heard Laurel's name.”

Clarissa's smile was meaningful and her gaze was seductively secretive, which instantly made Aaron's face turn red with anger. She laughed when she saw Aaron's expected angry reaction due to her sarcasm.

She shrugged her shoulders towards the stairs. “I hope the maid can show me where the guest room is. I'm tired from this trip. Maybe I'll take a break and get some sleep.” She mischievously winked at Aaron. “Though I won't turn down a quick visit during the day like you used to do, Aaron.”

Clarissa turned and strode gracefully, leaving Aaron and Laurel frozen in silence; an uncomfortable silence stifling the chest.
