“Now it's just the two of us.”

Clarissa smiled seductively and plopped down on the soft sofa in the library, then crossed her legs defiantly.

“Sit down, Aaron, it's strange that we're talking so far apart,” she invited him who had been standing while leaning on his desk at the end of the room.

Aaron's face was cold, not responding to Clarissa's invitation. “Why are you here, Clare, what's your goal?”

“Can I not? I miss you, Aaron, miss our times together.”

“I'm married and now on my honeymoon. I think that's clear enough for you.”

“Whether you're married or not doesn't really matter to me. I'm still willing to be your lover, where you vent your passion,” Clarissa's voice became hoarse and sensual, like an invitation to make love.

Aaron narrowed his eyes. His handsome face hardened, holding back anger. “I don't need a lover because I'm already married. I already have a place to vent my passion.”

Aaron's words instantly pierced Clarissa's heart, making her burn with extreme jealousy, but of course she wouldn't let him see it. She then stood up and approached him, they were face to face so closely.

“I can be better than any woman when it comes to sex. You admit it too, right? For years you can't get away from me, you always come to me when you're passionate and I'm sure, a woman like her will not be able to compete with me.”

Aaron looked away in disdain. Laurel couldn't be compared to Clarissa, but not because of the technique in her bed, but because Laurel had succeeded in satisfying him, physically and mentally. That's what Clarissa couldn't do and that's why Aaron left her.

When Aaron looked back at Clarissa, his gaze was cold. “Don't bother Laurel or I'll make you regret it.”

Clarissa took a step back, recognizing the terrifying anger within Aaron. “Is she the girl you always call when making love to me?” Clarissa's voice began to waver, unable to hide her emotions anymore.

Aaron glared at Clarissa. “Yes.”

A hard slap landed directly on Aaron's cheek, a slap from Clarissa, so hard it made Aaron's cheeks feel hot. However, he remained silent and frozen, staring at Clarissa expressionlessly. Maybe he deserved this slap.

Clarissa's eyes filled with tears, hatred and anger welled up from within her. When she spoke, her voice trembled.

“Even though I've always loved you….” Clarissa began to sob. “And I endure the pain when you call another woman's name every time you make love to me. I endured it, but you… you… you are such a heartless man!”

Clarissa couldn't continue her words anymore. She turned around and half ran away. Meanwhile Aaron froze for a while after Clarissa left, then his fingers brushed the slap on his cheek. So… Clarissa loves him?

“She said she loves me!” Aaron called Aamber in frustration afterward.

Aamber sighed on the other side. “No wonder she dared to chase you all the way there.” Her voice then turned serious. “You can't let her stay there, Aaron, you have to get her off the island.”

“How to? I can't have people drag her and throw her into the boats.”

Aamber was silent for a long time. “I'm also confused about how. Maybe you should kindly ask her to leave.”

“She just burst into tears and ran away from me heartbroken and then the next day I had to tell her she had to leave? I would be a heartless man if I did that.”

“Think about Laurel. You'll be a heartless man if you let Clarissa stay there.”

Aaron was stunned. Laurel. He knew that Clarissa's presence there hurt Laurel's heart very, very much. Aamber was right, if Clarissa continued to be in this house, what he and Laurel had built could slowly crumble. He had to get Clarissa out of this house, tomorrow.

_______________

“Are you okay?” Aaron found Clarissa having breakfast alone in the dining room the next morning.

Laurel was still sleeping and Aaron did not want to wake her up because his wife looked so sound asleep.

“I'm fine.” Clarissa seemed to prefer fruit for her breakfast; she was feeding a deep red cherry into her mouth.

“Regarding yesterday, I want to apologize. I never knew that you loved me. If only I had known, I would not have done what I did to you. “

“Now you know and that doesn't change anything, does it?” Clarissa smiled sadly. “I was stupid, thinking that I still had hope.”

Aaron sighed. “I'm really sorry to you. Maybe you should leave this house soon.”

Clarissa glared at him. “You kicked me out, Aaron?”

“I have to, I'm sorry. However, you cannot stay here much longer. I was on my honeymoon, and the presence of an ex-lover was simply unacceptable. I hope you understand.”

Clarissa looked at Aaron bitterly. “She, Laurel, your wife, you have loved for a long time, haven't you?”

Aaron nodded his head. “Yes.”

“Does she know how lucky she is? Loved by you for a long time?”

Aaron shook his head. “No, she doesn't know, but it doesn't matter. I have her now.”

Clarissa looked deeply at Aaron, then smiled sadly and shrugged her shoulders. “I guess there's really no point in me being here. I'll pack my things and leave this afternoon.”

She quickly walked away from Aaron and the sound of her footsteps could be heard up the stairs, toward the guest room.

A few seconds later, Aaron, who was still in the dining room, was startled by a shriek followed by a thud. He quickly walked towards the stairs. There Clarissa sat with a grimace on her face. The servants surrounded her.

Clarissa looked up and looked at Aaron in pain. “Help, Aaron, I think I sprained my leg.”

The noise outside woke Laurel from her slumber. Her head was still spinning, but she wanted to know. She slowly staggered toward the door, wanting to find out what had happened.

The sight in front of her was really unpleasant. It made her heart feel like it was being squeezed. From her room at the top, she could see clearly below. There, Aaron was seen massaging and stroking Clarissa's leg, who was sitting in pain. It looks like Clarissa's leg is sprained… but why did Aaron have to massage her leg in such an intimate way?

Then Aaron stood up, half bent over and gently took Clarissa in his arms and in a quick motion picked up her and carried her. Clarissa seemed really enjoy the intimacy; she wrapped her arms around Aaron's neck and rested her head on his chest.

Aaron just wanted to help Clarissa. She has sprained her leg, right? Why should she be jealous? She shouldn't be jealous. Laurel immediately hid herself back into the room, when Aaron stepped up the stairs carrying Clarissa, heading for the guest room.

Nevertheless, she was jealous. The sight angered her, made her unwilling and made her want to say that Aaron was hers.

It is undeniable. Laurel is already in love with Aaron Silverwhite.
