When Aamber visited the next day, she saw the gleam of happiness on Laurel and Aaron's faces, and she was grateful in her heart. These two people were truly happy.
Laurel was taking the cake out of the oven and placing it on the kitchen counter to cool it before slicing. The smell of strawberry and coconut cake filled the room. She got the recipe for the cake from Chris when they were on the island and only had time to practice it now.
“Looks like you made it. I've tried Chris's recipe and it's a mess, the inside is still raw.” Aamber looked deliciously at the cake and inhale its aroma. “Hm, and it smells really good.”
Laurel laughed seeing Aamber who looked like she wanted to taste the cake. “Let it cool first, otherwise your tongue will burn.”
“I'll take the risk.” Amber didn't care. She sliced the cake and pushed it onto the plate, then carried the plate while blowing on it.
Aaron was holding his daughter while teasing her with a rubber duck doll that made a sound when pressed. Aurel always smiled broadly when the toy sounded. Aaron glanced at Aamber and laughed at his sister's antics.
“Just leave his tongue on fire, Laurel, Aamber really likes Chris' coconut cake, and it looks like yours is no less delicious.”
The man then focused on feeding his little daughter while teasing her so that she laughed. Laurel looked at Aamber beside her and smiled sincerely.
“Thank you, Aamber, for helping me get to the tomb, then you helping me who was about to give birth. I know it's hard for you to remember your past experiences—”
“My past what?” Aamber stopped blowing her cake, looking at her in confusion.
Laurel swallowed nervously. Didn't Aaron once say that Aamber had a dark past, was betrayed by her lover and then aborted her pregnancy, then didn't want to fall in love again?
“Eh, Aaron said that you—”
“Whoa!” Aamber suddenly understood her thoughts. She glanced amusedly at Aaron who suddenly seemed to be pretending to be focused on holding his daughter. “He hasn't explained about that one yet, has he?”
She deliberately raised her voice while glancing at Aaron and immediately received a glare from his older brother. Aamber suddenly couldn't help but laugh. She placed the cake plate on the kitchen table.
“Looks like I have to let the cake cool first.” Aamber then stepped up and took Aurel from Aaron's arms, rocking her gently. “I will take Aurel to play, while waiting for the cake to cool.”
Then she laughed; the sound of her laughter still rang out into the distance as she walked away.
Laurel watched Aamber leave, then crossed her arms and looked at Aaron accusingly.
“Well?” she muttered, demanding a confession when he still said nothing.
Aaron raised his head and looked at her with a heart-melting apologetic look. “Forgive me. About that one, I also lied to you.”
“So Aamber has never had a dark past, miscarriage and trauma of love? And the reason you said marrying me for the sake of responsibility to Aamber is bullshit?”
Aaron shrugged his shoulders, smiling seductively at her. “I never married you for the sake of being responsible to anyone. I married you because I love you,” his voice is sensual, teasing her not to be mad at him.
However, Laurel persisted. She cast a disapproving look at him. “You made me look at Aamber sadly and with pity all this time. How dare you!”
Her tone was scolding, but Laurel smiled, suddenly able to understand how ridiculous this incident was. Aaron looked at her and smiled amusedly, they finally laughed together.
Laurel come closer and hit his arm playfully. “I'm so ashamed of Aamber.”
“She won't think about it. I'm sure she's still giggling there, laughing at us.”
Aaron then pulled her into his arms. “I have lied to you a lot and then hurt you. From now on I promise you, you will have my honesty, the whole of me, Mrs Aaron Silverwhite.”
Laurel looked up in his arms and smiled. “You must keep your promise, or you will be punished,” she threatened.
Aaron's eyes shone mischievously. “Hm, I think there are tons of punishments we can practice in bed. Maybe we can wear silk ribbons and handcuffs—”
“Aaron!” Laurel interrupted him in a reproachful tone, but his smile widened in love.
Aaron laughed and kissed her lips gently. The kiss was meant for an outpouring of affection, but then her lips were too seductive. The man crushed it, playing with her upper and lower lips alternately with sucking and licking. Then when Laurel opened her mouth to moan, Aaron stuck his tongue in and smacked her whole lips.
The sounds of the door opening made them jump in surprise and immediately separate themselves. They turned toward the door. Aamber was standing there, holding Aurel and apparently surprised to see them kissing. Her smile widened at the sight of Laurel's reddened cheeks and Aaron's flustered look.
“Oh well, looks like you guys should find a room.” Aamber was still smiling widely as she closed the kitchen door again, leaving them looking at each other awkwardly.
Aaron smiled mischievously while looking at Laurel. “Wanna go to the bedroom?”
“Aaron!” Laurel laughed at her husband's teasing. She let her husband hug her affectionately and kiss her.
