Aaron trotted out of Laurel's room, trying to deaf ear to the pounding on the door and her screams. He walked into his study, sat there with all the emotions running through his head.

Laurel's hurtful words rang in his ears. The statement that she hated him, hated him so much. Just like ten years ago, Laurel would always hate him in the end.

In frustration, Aaron hit the wall of his study with all his might, hurting his knuckles, but he did not care. The man then fell to the ground and cried.

This was the second time that Aaron Silverwhite had cried... and the cause was the same: Laurel.

Aaron did not really want to leave the house. He had told Aamber to take his place that day, because he wanted to look after Laurel. He could not keep his wife locked up forever. They have to talk no matter what… later, after her emotions subside.

However, that morning he found the files in the folder on his living room table. The file contained articles containing news of an accident ten years ago. Someone had deliberately told Laurel, to ruin his or her marriage, and Aaron knew who it was. Inside the folder was attached a national library membership card in Brian's name.

What an asshole!

That man is still a thorn in the flesh in his marriage to Laurel!

With galloping steps, Aaron got out of his car and let the driver park the car. His anger flared, all his emotions and frustration piled up, looking for an outlet. His pace quickened as he approached the IT Manager's room, where Brian was supposed to be. The man who was Aaron's employee was there. The man did not even have time to say a word because Aaron immediately lunged at him so that he fell on the floor and beat him hard.

Brian, who though shocked at first, tried to rebel and fight back. He finally managed to throw a punch or two into Aaron's shoulder, which he responded with a hard smack in the face, making his head pound.

In the end, Brian was no match for Aaron when it came to a one-on-one fight. The result was predictable. Brian was defeated and battered on the floor with a bruised face.

Aaron grabbed Brian by the collar violently, anger burning in his eyes, scaring anyone who saw him, as did Brian. Aaron seemed to want to kill him.

“Don’t you ever dare to appear again in our lives! I will watch over you from now on and I will not hesitate to kill you!” Aaron snarled in a menacingly hideous tone at Brian, and then slammed his slumped body onto the floor.

Aaron stepped in furiously. Before leaving, he turned his head again and looked at Brian coldly. “Oh yeah, by the way, you're fired.”

After that, Aaron left Brian's room by closing the door hard.

“You could be prosecuted for molesting a subordinate!” Aamber placed an ice cube over the corner of Aaron's bruised lips. “By anything in this world, you are the most level-headed man I have ever known! I didn't think you would prefer to settle this in a barbaric way.”

Aaron frowned and held the ice cube to the corner of his lips. It hurts. The damn man managed to smack his lips in self-defense. What a jerk.

“Brian deserved it! He told Laurel everything with malicious intent, and I don't know what other poison he put into her mind!” Aaron hissed angrily. “Now my wife hates me!”

“We, after all, had expected this to happen before, right?” Aamber took a deep breath. “Now what are you going to do?”

“I'll go home and wait until Laurel has calmed down. Hopefully she can accept my explanation when she can think with a cool head.”

“Do you think she will be able to forgive you?”

Aaron frowned sadly. “I don't know, but I can't let her go, Aam, I can't. I love her too much to let her go.” Aaron rubbed his face in frustration.

“If she can't accept me, if she keeps trying to get away from me,” Aaron muttered determinedly. “I'll take her to my private island and keep her there. There she won't be able to go anywhere.”

“For God's sake, Brother!” Aamber shook her head. “You won't be able to defend a marriage by force!”

“I don't know what else to do!” Aaron took a deep breath. “I don't know what to do, Aam. She said she hated me and would leave me.”

Aamber approached Aaron and patted him gently on the shoulder for support. “You go home. Let's pray that she can forget her anger and think things through with logic.”

When Aaron reached the door of his house, his servant, who rushed over to him, anxiously greeted him. “Mr. Aaron!”

A bad premonition immediately filled his mind. “What is it?” his voice became hoarse.

“Mrs. Laurel, sir, she left the house! We have tried to restrain her, but when one of the maids delivered the food to her room, she insisted on taking the room key. Then she left the house.”

Laurel stepped into the dormitory where she used to live. She did not know where to go. This dorm is her only home so far. Perhaps she would ask Aunt Sarah to hold her for a while before she could organize her life and go as far away as possible, which Aaron could not find her.

She knocked carefully on the door, hoping Aunt Sarah was home and not out. The door opened and Aunt Sarah opened it herself.

“Laurel? You came so early. Come on in, dear!” the woman turned behind Laurel. “Where is your husband? You said you two would come together.”

Tears immediately flowed from the corners of Laurel's eyes when she heard Aunt Sarah refer to Aaron as her “husband”. She sobbed, causing Aunt Sarah to look at her in confusion.

“Hey, hey, Laurel, what's wrong with you? Are you sick, dear? Why are you crying? What happened to you?”

Laurel wiped her tears, looking at Aunt Sarah sadly. “I have been lied to by Aaron. Everything he did… everything was a lie. He… he is the man who killed my father.”

Laurel's cries grew louder, making her body limp and Aunt Sarah immediately hugged her, rubbing her back comfortingly.

“Oh Lord! All right, dear, do not cry. Don't think about things with emotion, you won't find a way out,” Aunt Sarah comforted gently, waiting for Laurel's hysterical sobs to turn into soft sobs.

After the newly married woman's sobs subsided and calmed down a bit, Aunt Sarah led her to the room she had been in.

“Get some rest first. Calm your mind. Your room is still the same as when you left. Calm your mind first, dear, think things through.” Aunt Sarah ushered Laurel into the room and helped her lie down.

“I'll take a cup of hot tea to your room later,” she mumbled before blanketing Laurel and walking out of the room.
