Chased away

When Larry comes home after the meeting with Kourtney, he tells me, in detail, their conversation.
"Do you think she told you the truth?" I asked Larry, once his story was over.
"I can't certify it my love. As soon as we get the results of the DNA test, we will know if what she told us is true or not." He answers uncertain.
"What date did you set for the test!" I asked him.
"At the moment, she hasn't given me a fixed date, because the girl is with her parents." He answers me.
"In that case, the kids and I will get ahead of you on the trip, and you can go home once the test results are available." I say thinking. "Since the start of the school year is due in a few days, the children must return on time." I explained to Larry.
"Nothing urgent, we could go back together and I'll be back for the test later. How about that?" Larry asks me.
"No, I don't think it's a good idea for you to leave here without us being situated on this question of your paternity on Kourtney's child. I want this to end once and for all , without delaying things. In addition, the sooner we will be fixed on the situation, the better it will be, so that we are better seasoned and make our arrangements in time, if it happens that you are really the father." I replied, determined to get it over with as soon as possible. I then continue by telling him.
"Besides, I don't trust this Kourtney. I have a feeling she might play dirty tricks on us."
"You're right Amore! I don't trust her either." Replies Larry, abounding in my opinion.
"Do you have an idea of the city and the hospital where the analyzes will be done?" I kept asking. Larry answers me while thinking
"Not really, but I would like it to be a neutral place, where she has little or no knowledge. The idea is to prevent her from influencing the results. I would have liked my father to recommend me a good hospital, but I don't want them to know about this until I have proof that she is my daughter." Explains Larry to me calmly.
"I think it's better this way." I say back. "But be careful with Kourtney huh?!" I added, looking more serious.
"Don't worry my love, don't you trust me?" He replied in a confident voice.
"Sweetheart, it's not about you, it's about Kourtney, whom I'm very suspicious of. There's something not very clear about her. I have this hunch that she's trying to hook you up and that , since I laid my gaze on her. And this kind of person is ready to resort without shame, to any means to achieve his ends." I say worried.
Larry looks at me smiling and tells me.
"Mia Amore, I love it when you're jealous like that."
"Ah yes you think I'm jealous?!" I said climbing on top of him.
"I'll see if that beautiful smile keeps showing up later, with what I'm about to do to you." I said stroking his chest and unbuttoning his shirt.
"Well, I'm all yours Lady Boss! Punish me all you want." Said Larry with a mischievous smile.

Bill was finally able to provide my mother and I with new IDs, much to my relief. This guy is very good, whatever services I had to ask him, he always gave me satisfaction. As for our papers, he did them in a week as I hoped, and moreover, we were able to get express passports in this short period. I was so satisfied with his work, that I paid him with a surplus. As expected, I was able to empty my bank account without worries. As for the house, one of my clients was indeed interested in it and we closed the sale. His offer was very good, I did not expect better. As for my goodwill, I was also able to find a taker. One of my clients bought it for his wife. Everything was concluded and settled as I wanted. At the end of the week, therefore, my mother and I left Douala in a hurry to go to her village. We had to hurry because yesterday during the day, I received a summons from the tax service, summoning me to go to their premises on Monday. I couldn't take the risk of waiting another day, time holding me by the throat. They can always run, they will never find me again. They have no way of finding me. Even my phone, I sold it, for fear of being traced. I handed over this morning, on leaving for the agency, the keys to the new owner of the house. I haven't told anyone that I'm traveling, not even Cassandra who must surely be in trouble too. In such circumstances, everyone manages, at their own level, to get their heads out of the water, avoiding leaving any clues that could be detrimental to them later. The trip was so long and very tiring. We spent the whole day and part of the night riding. Before leaving, we did not notify the people on site of our arrival. This would not have been possible, because it is a very isolated area, where there is not even a telephone network. To be able to make a phone call, you would have to go to a neighboring village in order to have a network. No luck for us, we arrived very late at night, the whole village is asleep. The houses are in huts, they are small huts. I wonder inwardly if I could bear to live here for even a single day. To get to my mother's parents, we take a bush taxi. It's a well-worn vehicle, makes so much noise and emits a lot of smoke while moving, not to mention multiple engine stops. After a fateful moment driving, we finally arrive in front of the family concession of my grandparents. The bush taxi driver helps us unload our luggage, while Mum goes to wake up her family to let us in. I come to her to help her do it. But no one opens. Two men walk towards the straw fence, which also has a straw gate. One of the men is an old man, while the second is younger and more robust. The old man asks, when they arrive at the door, in the local language
"Who are you ?"
My mother also answers in the same language
"It's me, Hélène, great uncle."
"Helene..." Said the old man trying to search his mind. Looks like he's trying to remember who that name refers to.
"I don't know any Hélène, how about you tell me who your parents are?" He finally asks.
"It's me, the daughter of Maka and Dang, my late father." Answered my mother, while we are still outside, in the cold. While we were there talking to the old man, the driver calls me that he wants his money
"But ma'am, free me, I have to go. You didn't rent me for the whole night!" He said impatiently.
"But can't you see we're busy here, can't you?" I replied raising my voice.
"But that's none of my business. Give me my money and I'll leave." He resumes cheekily.
"No but, you can't at least wait for us to be opened!? What if we were attacked?" I replied, not getting over the fact that he wanted to leave us there alone, before we were opened.
"Please don't tire me! My job is to drive customers to their destination, it is for this task that I am paid. The rest is none of my business. Give me back my money, otherwise. .."
"Otherwise what?" I cut menacingly.
"Otherwise I won't take into account that you are a woman and I am a man." He replies, advancing dangerously towards me.
I take fright and I realize that I am on a ground that I do not control. Additionally, villagers can be very barbaric and savage. Seeing that he was already very close, I try to temporize him by saying
"It's okay, I'll give you your money."
I reach into my purse and pull out some cash, then hand it to him.
"Here, keep the change."
He snatches it from my hands and replies
"Thank you!"
Despite the darkness that reigns, I can feel his piercing gaze on me and it freezes my body. He gets into his car and drives off. As for me, I return to my mother who has finally sat down in front of the door, which just here has not yet been opened. I walk up to her and ask her the question.
"What's going on? Why is the door still closed?"
"They refused to open to us." Mom answers the sadness in her voice.
"But why ?" I inquired in astonishment.
"They consider that I taunted them by leaving here and that they consider me dead. Therefore, they no longer want me in their home." She explains to me, all unhappy.
"But what on earth did you do to them that they didn't even want to hear from you anymore?" I asked, not understanding such great severity of these people towards my mother.
"Ah my daughter!" She said, letting out a deep sigh. "It's a long story." She finally said.
"I believe you have the whole night in front of you to tell me everything." I replied, coming to sit next to her.
