What's This?

"And do you hold the belief that you are indeed married to this man or do you know the truth of the situation."
Sarah looked coldly into the Queen's eyes as she spoke softly to the other woman. "I am fully aware of the agreement Draven La'Fon and I conceded to participate in the moment we started on this journey. I am neither an idiot nor easily swayed to believe something that is not of my own thought-frame… Your Majesty." She then bowed and turned away, walking swiftly out of the room.
"Well, I guess I shouldn't have said that then…. I do hope she won't stay mad at me though, she's a really good friend." Kelly stopped her musings and looked at Draven. "I guess you can stay in the hotel that's not too far from the castle as Sarah is sure to stay within the castle walls. As the sun is about to set and there's no way you can reach a camping site before dark, you can leave in the morning to continue on your journey."
Draven says nothing, but plots inwardly of how he can leave despite the setting sun. He bows once more to Kelly before being escorted out of the castle and pointed in the direction of the hotel. He walks down the street towards the hotel and enters the building. He approaches the innkeepers' desk and smiles charmingly at the woman who stood behind the desk. "Hello there, I'm looking for a room, do you have any available?"
The woman doesn't even look up from her paperwork as she pushes a book towards him. "Just sign your name here Sir and I'll give you the keys to your room."
Draven smirks to himself as he picks up the quill pen and signs 'Martin Fraye' into the logbook. Turning the book around he leans against the desk as he waits for his key. The woman looks down and smiles brightly, "Welcome Sir La'Fon. We were told to expect you and your wife to come and stay with us for the night. Sarah is already here and in her room, which is connected to your own, dinner will be served in a couple of hours. If you want to eat breakfast before heading out, then please be down here when the sun rises and a complimentary breakfast will be given to you. No charge for the room and meals as Her Majesty has already paid for everything that either you or your lovely wife may desire. And may I just say, it is an honor to meet the man who has ensnared our Sarah's heart." She slides over a key as she speaks to him, not paying attention to his dumbfounded look.
He takes the key and glances down at the book, once more scowling as he sees his signature had changed in the book to reveal his true name. Still gruntled at being exposed, he makes his way up to the room, realizing that there was no hope for escape now, and enters his room. He looks over towards the connecting doors and walks firmly towards them. Reaching for the lock, he secures the connecting door as well as his own door, and when he feels Sarah's questioning mental touch, he slammed the connection between them shut. Crossing over to the bed he flops down onto the mattress and falls asleep.
The next morning he wakes up and sees that there is no one in the inn, the sun is barely rising in the horizon and where there should be people lining up or breakfast, and it was strange to see the inn abandoned. He shrugs it off and walks into the kitchen, fixing himself his own meal and eating it standing up. Washing his dishes he then leaves the kitchen, shouldering his pack onto his shoulder as he does so. Not bothering to go to the stables, or find them for that matter, to retrieve his horse, he walks along the streets and once more notices that there is no one around. Frowning, he leaves the city, but he doesn't get far before he's stopped by the dark man from the day before standing in front of him.
"Where is she?"
Draven arched an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side. "Where's who?"
The man in turn scowls at Draven as he crosses his arms over his chest. "Your WIFE."
Draven shrugs his shoulders and moves around the man. "She's not my wife, in case you haven't gotten the memo. I don't know where she is, after all, she's her own person and not answerable to anyone, especially me."
The man frowned and looked at him sternly. "She disappeared at some time last night, avoiding the night patrols and my magic, which I might add is impossible to do. I suspect YOU have something to do with it."
Draven shakes his head and lifts his hand in the air, waving it twice. "Yeah, well good luck in finding her." He continues to walk away from the city, away from the multitude voices that are calling for Sarah in the wilderness surrounding the city. He continues to walk, enjoying the sunny day that gently warmed his body as he travelled. He walks about three hours before he spots a glint of golden blonde hair caught in some bramble on the side of the road. He looks at it and sees that the it's the same shade and texture as Sarah's hair, and the plant life is trampled down in a path deeper into the woods.
He sighs heavily and contemplates continuing with his travels when he shakes his head and steps off the path and into the woods. He sees some blood dotting the tops of the leaves that look as if they had been roughly stomped to the earth. Continuing to travel, he notices that the canopy of trees grows denser, hiding the light of the sun and making the air seem cooler to his skin. After travelling further he sees an opening in the distance, and a large bonfire burning brightly through the trees. There are five large men stood around the bonfire while one man turned what appeared to be a spit-turn.
He stood and watched for a few minutes until the men separated and began wandering around the campsite, what he saw made him wish he had never taken the path off the trail and continued on his way. Sarah was tied up, her mermaid body secured to the pole that was hanging over the fire. He grinds his teeth while he contemplates turning away, but a part of him refuses to allow him to leave. Growling in the back of his throat, he pulls his swords out of their sheaths and charges into the clearing. He takes the first two men in the gut, slicing through their bodies with ease as the remainder of the group turn and face him, their own weapons drawn.
One man swings a club at his head, which causes him to kneel to the ground and stab his sword upward while slicing his sword at the head of the second man, who had bent over to hit Draven over the head. The sword slices through the man's neck, bathing Draven in blood while the sword that he stabbed into the third man remained inside the man's gut. The fifth man left Sarah and walked towards Draven menacingly. Draven turned towards the man and threw his sword at the guy, pinning his feet to the ground while he jerked his second sword out of the third man's midsection and slicing through the fifth man's neck, removing his head from his body as he did so.
