Chapter 13

The bus ride to Toronto was long and kind of boring, even though Aldahir and I had the ability to talk about anything and whatever for hours upon hours, we were both a little in shock and still processing the fact that we were on our way to Toronto, to start the rest of our lives together as we wanted it.
When we finally got there I could barely contain my excitement, same as Aldahir, he jumped out of the bus and grabbed me by the waist to help me down, once I was in the ground he kissed me in the lips in a way he had never done before, I felt his happiness, his freedom and the love he felt for me.

-Wow... That felt different - said Aldahir smiling from ear to ear after we kissed

-Yes... It felt amazing - I said smiling too

-Okay, we're here, what should we do first? - He asked grabbing my hand after picking up our suitcases

-I'm going to be boring and say, let's find a hotel so we have a place to sleep tonight, then we will go around the city for a while

-I like that idea, maybe we get lucky and find a job, as far as I'm concerned the easiest one is waitering

-Waitering? As in being in a place constantly surrounded by people, sounds, voices, possibly kids crying and lights on all the time? - I asked

-Yes, that job, I actually had a waitering job half time a few years ago

-So I will be working in the perfect place for me to have a meltdown

-We can't exactly be very picky right now Dhalia

-I know, I know, I'm just trying to understand the whole scenario so I can be as prepared as I can

-I must admit I'm surprised you're not freaking out yet, we're in a completely different province, away from the pack and we're about to change everything about our lives

-Could you please not remind me of all that? - I asked him laughing nervously

-Okay, noted... Let's check that hotel

We went into the first hotel we saw and walked away immediately after asking about the price, it was crazy expensive. We walked around for a while and then went into another hotel that seemed a lot cheaper than the other one, it wasn't exactly pretty, but we couldn't be picky - just like Aldahir said - so we decided to stay there, we went up to our room, left our things, grabbed another coat because the weather was getting colder and went out again to go around the city and see what our future could hold.

We walked around seeing the buildings, the apartment complexes, the stores, the restaurants, even the schools that were nearby, everything looked so different to Loup Ville and the human town next to it; the city was full of people going in every direction, doing and thinking many different things. Seeing everything excited me of course, I had always wished for the opportunity to get away from the rustic little town and get to one of the big cities, I even remember getting mad at my parents when they wouldn't allow me to go with them if they visited or of the cities, the always said it would trigger me somehow, it would confuse me, give me a headache and when the finally accepted I was autistic they said it would overstimulate me.

Of course I never listened to them and I always wanted to go, but I must admit the city was way louder than I thought, I could hear the cars, people walking, their breathing, their random conversations, the honking of cars every once in a while and the beeping sound of some traffic lights. Because it was all new to me, I knew it would drive me crazy at first, but seeing Aldahir's excitement over being back into what he called "human civilization" made me not think about all those sounds as much.

-It is unacceptable, we are having dinner at McDonald's today - said Aldahir finishing his long rant about how much I was missing out on by not eating fast food

-Okay, I'm eating a burger...

-Big Mac - said Aldahir cutting me off and correcting me

-A Big Mac, fries and a soda

-Exactly, and you'll thank me for it later

-Oh right, now put that charm to work and get us a waitering job, would you? - I said to him opening the door to a semi elegant restaurant that was about twenty minutes from the hotel

Aldahir went in with a smile, held his hand out to me, so I grabbed it and then we walked up to one of the employees asking if we could see a manager. A few minutes later a middle age woman came from the back door to talk to us. After about ten minutes of Aldahir and her talking back and forth the woman turned to both of us, welcomed us to Toronto and said she would see us the next day at two in the afternoon to start our training and then we could get to work.

It surprised me how easy it was for Aldahir to get us that job, and he, of course had to rub it in as much as he could.

-Hey - said Aldahir stopping me in front of the police station - still want to join the force?

-I'll probably like it better than being a waitress - I said smiling

-Then let's get inside and ask

Aldahir dragged me inside if the police station and went straight to the front desk where he simply said "We want to join the police, is there a form we need to sign or something?" The man behind the desk chuckled, seemingly entertain by Aldahir's attitude and before I knew it we had two forms and a one in front of us. We filled them up and after some more questions we were told training started in two weeks.

Feeling as accomplished as I had in a while we returned to the hotel.

-I'm getting in the shower - said Aldahir getting rid of his coat and sweater

-I'll shower right after you, I'm really tired

-Or... You could join me in the shower - he said leaning over me helping me get rid of my coat

His words took me by surprise, but I smiled realizing it would be our first time showering together, so I smiled feeling as happy and free as I ever did and kissed him, he grabbed me by the waist but his hands didn't stay there for long, he got rid of my sweater as I got rid of his shirt and before I knew it my clothes had been - pretty much - ripped out of my body and he was carrying me to the bathroom, he put me back on the floor long enough for me to help him get rid of the rest of his clothes and then he grabbed me again and stepped into the shower where he immediately opened the water and pushed me against the wall.

We didn't exactly shower that day, it was more like we took all the time in the world to allow our hands to get to know each other's bodies in a way we hadn't had the chance before, we finished up rolling around in the sheets and afterwards we simply stayed there, holding each other as chose as humanly possible.

-This is going to be good, you know? - Said Aldahir with his lips slightly touching my shoulder

-Why?

-Because we are together, we can finally be happy together and we can have our freedom... Together

-Together... That's about enough for me

-Who knew you could be so cheesy and romantic? - He asked laughing

-Oh shut up and hug me, I'm tired and I want to sleep

-Okay, I'll be the creepy boyfriend who stays awake seeing his girlfriend sleep

-I love you silly - I said kissing him

-I love you too... Little wolf?

-Little wolf?

-Yes, it's my nickname for you, it's a little more original than love and a bit more specific

-Okay, but is a little weird

-Let me think on it... How about my little wolf?

-Why is that so much cuter? - I asked laughing

-Because is ridiculously cheesy, and even though you say you hate I know you secretly love it

I laughed at Aldahir and kissed him again to shut him up, he got the message and went back to hugging me.
