Chapter 18
The next day at the academy was quite eventful because every single soul there knew Aldahir and I had gotten married, some where shocked we just did it without a bit ceremony or a party, some even though it was some sort of joke and some others simply congratulated us and whised us the best.
Aldahir and I had talked over at the restaurant and we had decided to ask for a transfer to another academy, we figured if my parents had already found our place we had to make it more difficult for them to find us again, and with new names if we went to somewhere new no one would be able to possibly help them find us because the wouldn't know who we were.
So we asked Zoe what we needed to do to be transfer somewhere else, she looked for an academy that needed two trainees and found out the one located in Pickering had just transfered three people and they were looking for replacements, she was kind enough to get the application needed immediately and a few hours later she informed us we would be officially transfer there in a week.
We thanked her for everything she had done to help us, especially me, and she admitted she loved working with us and would miss us. The goodbye round we took was kind of short, at least mine consisted of only Jeanne, who said she would miss me like crazy, forced me to give her my number and said something along the lines of "maybe I'll apply for a job at Pickering" that made me really happy and hopeful about possible seeing her again.
Aldahir's goodbye round was a little longer, it included Jason, with whom he exchanged numbers and three other trainees he had grown - sort of - close to.
The week previous to our transfer was weird, we kept training as if nothing were happening but everyone around us had this feeling of losing someone that, honestly I couldn't understand, I was far more focused on getting everything we needed ready for the transfer and super concerned over the full moon thinking what we would do with Aldahir.
We had ideas for dealing with it, but we hadn't had to try any of them out and it was crazy to think about it. We actually only had one real option because we didn't have our own place and we would have to explain our absence at the academy, so Aldahir being the genius he as always been - not always really - decided to very loudly say we would have a one night honey moon, I hated everyone thinking we would be doing that, but I prefered it over them finding our attitude suspicious.
So with Aldahir's brilliant explanation we pretended to go looking for a hotel after finishing our training that day; what we really did was head deep into the little part of forest in the province, look around for a place where we could hide our things like our clothes, cellphones and wallets, we ended up finding an old bird house, we cracked it open and hid our things inside it, then we waited for the full moon to trigger Aldahir's transformation.
Once it did he transformed into a wolf while doing his best to keep the whimpers and screams of pain at minimum so no one around could hear it, once he transformed into a wolf I did the same and we simply walked around the forest as quietly as possible hoping that whoever might be around wouldn't question the sound of an animal larger than the usual in the area.
We spent the whole night just going around, messing with each other a little and we even ended up hunting and eating a few rabbits we ran into. It's weird but since we had the ability to fully transform into wolfs we also had the ability to eat raw meat without any issues, which was interesting and kind of gross because we were far more used to eat human food, but it was an experience I didn't mind that much and it saved us a lot of time sometimes.
When the sun went back up and Aldahir was able to transform back into a human he let out a sigh of relieve and I immediately transformed back into a human and ran to hug him.
-How you managed to not scream, I don't know, but I'm so proud of you and I'm so freaking glad is finally over - I said in the middle of our hug
-Me too - he said breathing heavily - now let's put our clothes back in before someone reports the two perverts naked in the forest - he added smiling
-Yeah, let's go - I said walking away
But he grabbed me by the arm stopping me.
-Or... We could stay here a little longer, become wolves again and...
-We are not having sex as wolves, it is way too painful for me, I rather wait until we can get a hotel room for real - I said stepping on my tip toes to see him in the eye - let's go
Aldahir groaned but followed me right away. We got dressed, went for breakfast and then went back to the academy for our last day there. Once the day was over Aldahir and I packed everything we had, said our final goodbyes and got into the bus that would take us to the academy at Pickering. We were told to sleep on the bus if we could because not only was it very long but we would arrive at our first day of training.
Aldahir and I cuddled up the whole way there and soon enough we fell asleep, when we arrived we were a little tired, but way too excited over the second possibility of a new start so we walked into the academy feeling as if an inmense weight had just been lifted from our shoulders.
But some of that weight feel right back onto my shoulders when some of the trainees - almost all of them actually - came up to us like a group of fans gossiping about the "power couple" they had heard so many things about and started asking if our scores during the training were real, if we had some weird thing with the officers on charge so we always had the highest scores and so much more.
Turned out, the police force had a little but of a gossip net worth and everyone at the Pickering academy had heard about the two new trainees, how insanely good they - we - were, how weird it was because none of them was physically big and how competitive we were with one another, which seemed to make us even better at what we did.
Aldahir absolutely loved the kind of attention they were giving us, he was happy to share the stories about how he had done certain things and how he had beat me so many times, I didn't like being the center of attention like that, I felt like everyone was looking at me, analysing every single one of my moves and waiting for the tiniest mistake to shove it in my face and revel in the fact that I wasn't as perfect as they thought.
Seeing the way we were received concerned me a little, I was happy for Aldahir because he really did enjoy being the center of attention, but I was nervous about messing up our transfer to the new academy.
-Hey - said Aldahir coming up to me right before we started training for the day - don't worry about them, they're literally strangers who know nothing but the twisted up rumors they've heard about us
-You're telling the most perfectionist and anxious person to not think about what other are thinking about her - I said quickly
-That's why I'm telling you, I know that brain of yours and I can see the wheels running as fast as they can go, just try to slow them down a little... At least enough to kick my ass today - he added whispering in my ear
Which made me smile and took away some of the worries I had, Aldahir had always been really good at helping me with it.
-Okay, then get ready to have all of them make fun of you when your girlfriend beats you
-Wife - said Aldahir correcting me and grabbing my left hand showing me the wedding ring - you're not my wife, my little wolf
-I love it when you get all cheesy - I said laughing
And regretted saying the words I had just said right away.
-You said it - said Aldahir with a triunfant look on his face
-Yes I did - I said trying not to laugh
-I knew you liked it - said Aldahir and then kissed me before going to the other side of the room to start with the training
Which was a hostage rescue simulation using rubber bullets.
