Chapter 20
-We need to find something to stop ourselves from transforming into wolves in the middle of training - I said to Aldahir
He looked at me as if I had just lectured him about something, but then nodded and pulled into a hug.
-You stopped me - said Aldahir still hugging me
-But I'm not going to be around all the time, and I have a feeling Ben is going to get you out of your right mind a few more times - I said concerned
-He didn't do it on purpose - said Aldahir when he stopped hugging - people who are insecure about themselves or jealous of someone else usually become hostile...
-How is hostile the same to provoque someone? - I cut him off - Ben was trying to get a reaction out of you
-Hey - said Aldahir grabbing me by the shoulders - he didn't get a reaction out of me, did he? - I shook my head saying no - and he won't, he might not have done it on purpose but I know he will keep trying to compete with me so I won't give him that satisfaction
-Are you sure that would be enough to not.. wolf-out at him?
-I hope so, I could push myself farther, in the physical aspect, that always takes my mind off of whatever is making me want to transform into a wolf - said Aldahir shrugging his shoulders
-Is there anything I may do to help? I could suggest you try some yoga or meditation, but I know you don't like it and therefore it won't work on you - I said chuckling
-We could... Sneak off the academy more often and have some alone time - said Aldahir whispering in my ear
Which made the hair all over my body stand up and I had to contain a surprised gasp, Aldahir laughed at my reaction and kissed me on the cheek.
-I love it when you don't know how to react
I rolled my eyes at him but then pulled him into a kiss, he was surprised by this but he grabbed me by the waist immediately and continued kissing me.
Aldahir and I decided to put a few date nights per month in our schedule, those nights meant going to a motel to spend the night there and have as much alone time as possible, obviously we made sure to schedule one for each full moon, making a believable excuse for our absence from the academy.
As soon as we sat down to schedule them we both felt a weight being lifted off our shoulders.
-Now that we're planning ahead like this, we should think about what's going to happen in five months when we graduate - I said
-We will graduate and stat working, that's what will happen - said Aldahir looking at me
I sighed heavily and gave him a bad look.
-I'm being serious Aldahir, we need to think about finding a place, like an apartment or a room and we need to get back to work in the meantime - I said tapping my cellphone with my nails nervously
-Oh right... Officer Mandel mentioned they were looking for someone to do things around the academy, like clean the kitchen, help with cooking and serving food and some
other things
-Great to know but, what does that have to with us finding a job? - I asked confused
-Let me finish, impatient wolf - said Aldahir laughing
I laughed at what he said and gestured to him letting him know he could need talking.
-Since whoever will be doing those things would take, to some extend, the role of the help around here we would be get paid for doing it
-Where do we sign on? - I asked
-I'll talk to officer Mandel tomorrow to let him know we want the job - said Aldahir laughing - and don't worry, I will take on the tasks that you cannot do because of your
sensory overload
-Have I told you I love you? - I asked smiling
-Not enough times
I laughed and then kissed him again. We kept talking and thinking about where we could get a place, the conversation ended when we were told to go to sleep and we
prepared for the next day of training.
The five months of training we had left flew by, Aldahir and I worked hard on both the training and our job at the academy - which turned out not to be as bad - which earned us the first and second place in the class, I was at the very top because unlike Aldahir I never lost my temper.
There were a few occasions when Aldahir and Ben went head to head during training and the competition, which became a lot more aggressive than it should have, got to Aldahir and he ended up either yelling at some of the other trainees or simply storming out of the room. Our date nights helped keeping both our minds clearer, we loved the alone time, we hoped for it to be longer every night and we also enjoyed the opportunity to transform into wolves during the full moons.
The graduation ceremony we had was pretty simple, the academy was opened to all the family members who wanted to come, we were called to a little stage they had built and the chief of Pickering's police placed a badge with our name in our uniform, I was granted a special recognition because I ended up being at the top of the class, that recognition meant I could choose my work partner, everyone else would simply be assigned a partner. I of course, chose Aldahir as my partner and he was called back to the stage where we were assigned the call number fourteen.
Once the ceremony was over we thanked the officers who had been in charge of our training and we went on our way, we had a free weekend before we officially started working, Aldahir and I decided to take advantage of that weekend to find an apartment. We had already called some places here and there but none of them seemed to work for us, so we took three of the best options we had and went to check them out.
The first place was a little too big, it was an apartment with two rooms, two bathrooms, parking space for two cars and of course the rental price reflected that, we had decided not to find anything too fancy, we just needed four walls and a roof over our heads.
The second option was the opposite to the first one, it was a room with barely enough space for one person, let alone two, we didn't even stay there for much longer after realizing the place would not work.
We headed to our third option, with our hopes getting lower by the second, but when we got there we found the perfect place for us, it was a small and very simple apartment, fully equipped with furniture and what we loved the most was it's proximity to a very little known entrance to the forest. We walked around the place seeing everything, hoping not to find something that would make us change our minds and since we don't find anything we talked with the landlord and in a matter of four hours we had signed the rental contract, he had been given the keys and the landlord left us welcoming us into our new apartment.
We went back to the academy, bringing everything we owned with us and making the little apartment as homie as possible.
-I wanted to give you something - said Aldahir when I got out of be bathroom
-What are you talking about? - I asked him confused while tying the towel over my chest
-Just come with me - he said grabbing my hand and guiding me to the kitchen and living room area
When we got there I was thrilled to see an easel and package of paint.
-I know you brought some of your art supplies with you, but not everything so I wanted to help you complete your set again - said Aldahir smiling
-You're so freaking cute - I said jumping at him and hugging him
When Aldahir grabbed me the knot I had made at the front of the towel came undone, I tried to pick it back up and out it around my body again but Aldahir stopped me, grabbing me by the wrists and pulling me closer to him, I smiled nervously and kissed him again sneaking my hands thunder his shirt, that made him smile and I helped him
take off his shirt.
-Shall we officially inaugurate our apartment? More especially our bed - said Aldahir with his eyes on my lips
-Sure - I said smiling
Aldahir smiled back at me, picked me up and walked to our bedroom, where he let me fall on the bed and then crawled over me to kiss me with his hands feeling all over my body.
