Chapter 31
After hours in the bus we finally arrived at Loup Ville, we were both very nervous assuming – almost knowing – we wouldn't be exactly welcome back with open arms, so we walked into the town very cautiously, hoping to not even be noticed but failed miserably when Alisha, who was walking by, yelled out my name and ran to hug me, I hugged her back feeling a mix of guilt over leaving her behind and essentially lying to her and happiness over being back with her again, because I had really missed her.
-You're crazy - said Alisha in my ear still hugging me - you're crazy for leaving, though very brave, but you're even more crazy for coming back here, you both should have left
the planet or something
-Desperate times call for desperate measures - said Aldahir cutting in
-Her parents are going to rip your her off your shoulders man - said Alisha to Aldahir, who was doing his best to not show how afraid he was
Our little "peace before the storm" moment with Alisha was interrupted by my parents, both of them looked pissed, but my mother looked like a dragon, I wouldn't have been surprised if red smoke started coming out of her nose and ears. They both walked over to us as fast as they could and when my mother was directly in front of me, almost out of instinct I believe Aldahir placed himself in front of me in a protective manner.
Because of his reaction my mother growled at him, looking as angry and intimidating as I had ever seen, I tried to step in front of him thinking my mother wouldn't hurt me but before he could even try to stop me my mother had grabbed me by the hair and pulled me towards her throwing me in the ground.
-Get off of her! - Yelled Aldahir angrily
And in a matter of seconds he was being restrained by two of the warriors, he did not stay still and I was afraid they would hurt him, but he didn't seem to mind getting hurt at all.
-You shut up boy! You have no place in here, no place opening your mouth when it comes to my daughter! - Yelled my mom getting in his face
-I don't care who you are, you have no right to treat her like that! - Yelled Aldahir and then he growled
My mother immediately hit him in the face leaving his lip bleeding.
-Enough! Please! You're acting like feral wolves - I said getting in between my mother and Aldahir
My comment obviously wasn't well received by my mother and the next slap was for my, which included her claws leaving a few cuts on my face, i heard Aldahir growling behind me and prepared to hold him back because I was sure he would jump at my mother, but instead my father stepped in, grabbed Aldahir by the neck, grabbed my wrist and dragged us both away from my mother and group of people who had gathered around us.
-Someone keep Jasmina away from us - he asked to one of the warriors
And a second later I heard my mother yelling in anger.
-Clearly you're not welcome here Dahlia and you Aldahir... If you didn't mean as much as you to my daughter I would tear you apart right here and now - said my dad threatening him
-Don't - I said to Aldahir stopping him from growling
He wasn't happy but he stayed quiet and when my dad let go of him he stood behind me and grabbed my hand.
-I'm sure we'll be able to find a solution to allow Dhalia to stay but you Aldahir cannot stay...
-I'll make it simpler for you and my mother, wherever he goes I go - I said to my father putting Aldahir's hand with mine in front of him
He growled, not exactly angry more like he was disappointed and he signaled to the guy holding my mother to let her go, she immediately came over to us, fuming again and before she and Aldahir could get into another screaming match I stepped in between them.
My mother immediately growled at me but my father calmed her down enough not to kill us, she then proceeded to explain all the reasons why I wasn't welcome back, starting with being a traitor, a liar and spitting on a tradition that had been alive for centuries, which she found to be very disrespectful and then she turned to Aldahir and accused him of everything being his fault, she said he had corrupted me, put those crazy thoughts of running away in my head and basically forced me to because he was in
love with me.
-Mother - I cut her off before she could go on to say that Aldahir had abused me - I hate, no, I'm actually going to enjoy break it to you... Aldahir never forced me to do anything, running away was my idea, I wanted to do it, I had dream about it for years and I fell in love with Aldahir, probably from the second I decided to save him and I wanted to run away with him, we started our own life together and we got married
-You did what!? - Asked my mother fuming again only picking on the last sentence
-We are married - I said wishing we hadn't lost our rings when we transformed going after the hunters
-Before you ask about the rings here's mine - said Aldahir taking the ring out of his front pocket - Dhalia lost her during a transformation, which is why we even came back, we need to warn you about a group of hunters
-You shut up - said my mother annoyed
-We should at least allow them to explain the whole situation, after they ran away I doubt they would want to come back here without a pretty good reason - said my father trying to knock some sense into my mother
-Fine, speak
Aldahir was going to start talking, but before he could I jumped in.
-There is a group of hunters that know about us, they know about werewolves, have the necessary training to take and even kill one and have been looking for this place - I explained quickly
My parents looked at each other as confused as ever so I explained the whole situation with the hunters, our encounter with them, what they did to me, what we did to them and why we thought they could know about Loup Ville.
By a miracle they believed me without much questioning, but then my mother jumped back into herself.
-Thanks for the warning, now you can leave
Aldahir and I looked at each other, wondering in silence what we could do, because even though we weren't expecting to stay there we didn't really have anywhere to go.
-Maybe we can allow them to stay at least for today, I have no idea how far they had to travel to get here, besides they came to warns us about a possible danger
-Fine, they can stay for today, separate and if Dhalia has any interest in staying permanently she will have a baby with Charles or Daiki...
-If Aldahir isn't staying I won't either and I promise you don't want to push me on this, you already know what I'm capable of, I left once I have no issue about leaving again - I said being as tough as I had ever been in front of my mother
My reaction surprised my father, Aldahir and of course my mother, who was really angry at me.
-Let's have this conversation tomorrow, we have already decided they can both stay until tomorrow, we will decided what to do after later - said my father
Aldahir and I thanked the intervention and watched them walk away.
-We say nothing about you being a part of that hunter's group - I whispered to Aldahir and walked to met Alisha
