Chapter 3

Lilith James was trying to make a dent in the stack of paper that resided on her desk. Running the type of club they did required more paperwork than one would think. She generally didn’t mind it and she was definitely better with it than her husband was. Liam was the creative genius behind Mythos. He was fantastic at the front end and kitchen aspect. That left her with the paperwork.

Despite the distance to the bar, through her closed office door she clearly heard, "Liam James, you put me down this instant! I mean it!"

Getting up to see what all the commotion was about, she opened her office door and walked down the hall to the bar. Trying to be serious and not laugh at the scene before her, Lilith took a deep breath and looked up at Thea with raised eyebrows. Thea was tossed over Liam's shoulder looking rather unhappy and sporting a nice pair of purple horns while Liam was wearing a proud grin.

Seeing Lilith coming their way, Thea gave her a weak smile, “Lilith, do something about Mr. Lughead, please! I’m trying to not use the ole powers but he’s making it really hard.”

“Why don’t you tell me what happened?”

“Well, you see, Liam insulted not only my brains but my height as well. As a result, I was forced to pull up a chair, so I could give him a proper piece of my apparently empty brain, when he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder," Thea explained in a flourish. "Now he won't put me down. Make him put me down, *PLEASE*."

The whole time Thea was explaining her side of things Lilith watched as Liam rolled his eyes and tried to give her the 'I'm the victim here' look. "Liam, would you like to tell me *WHY* you felt a need to make her pull the chair on you and then toss her over your shoulder like some sort of caveman while putting on a show for the customers?"

"Give me a break Lilith! She insulted my manhood. If she were a guy she'd be taken out back and given a beating. As I knew how unhappy you'd be with that, I figured this was the better way to go," Liam explained as if he knew his Lilith would be proud of him.

"I see.” Lilith was trying so hard not to laugh but they made it impossibly difficult. With a laughing smirk she asked Liam, “When do you plan to put her down?"

"As soon as she apologizes and admits she was wrong.”

"ME? I'm not apologizing! You owe me an apology. You're the one who interrupted *MY* dinner. I was minding my own business when you just had to show up with commentary on my ability to eat a big ole messy burger.”

“Of course I did, you made it so cute. You looked like a little trying to play grown up. There was no need to turn it into a question of my manhood.”

"Well, figure it out soon, you two. Just remember carrying her around is going to make it difficult to manage the club tonight. Oh and Liam, it’s her first night back in town so try to play nice." With that Lilith turned around and walked away, barely containing a giggle. Those two were so much like brother and sister that most of the time it was just best to step back and let them figure it out.

"Put me down, Liam! I need to make a phone call to Kira," Thea ordered, smacking Liam on the back.

"Not until you apologize.”

"Fine then! I'll just call her from here cause I'm not apologizing until you do." Thea said as she pulled her cell phone from her back pocket and called Kira Brown, her long time best friend. Receiving her voice mail, Thea left her a message saying, "Yo Kira-girl! Hey woman! Long time no talk to. It's Thea. You know the one that was in management hell. Anyway, girly, I miss you. So call me!

“Oh, by the way, if I sound kind of weird it's because Liam is being a lughead, yes, again, and has me over his shoulder. Stupid man insulted me and then was surprised when I responded. And Yes! He made me use the chair. And No! The view really isn't too bad from here if you like lughead. It’s definitely much better than lower Daemoni. He’s at least a level or two above the slimy, oozing. Daemoni.

“Anyway, I need to run before his flippin shoulder in my stomach makes me lose the food I've just eaten and you remember the last time *THAT* happened. Ciao babe!" While clicking End on her phone she felt Liam move to put her down, much to her surprise.

As he turned around to look at her she immediately noticed the cocky smirk. "What?" Thea asked in a huff.

"You admitted I was good looking. And for the record, I only put you down because Lilith just did my laundry and she hates doing laundry," Liam replied. “And by the way, for someone so tiny, you ain’t too bad yourself.”

"Why is it always about my height with you?" Thea asked as she placed her hands on her hips.

"Cause you’re just so darn cute!" Liam said as he leaned over and pinched her cheek knowing that would aggravate her further.

"GRRR! One of these days, Liam... one of these days,” Thea continued to grumble as she sat down in front of her now cold food and continued to eat with a pout.

Liam just laughed as he headed towards the kitchen.

“Want me to bite him for you?” Ajax, the resident werewolf and bartender, asked as he draped his arm around Thea.

“Nah, I wouldn’t want you to catch worms or something. I like you too much.”

Ajax laughed as he planted a kiss on her cheek. “I missed you! You’re just what we need around here. Now, what would you like to drink this fine evening?”
