Chapter 4

The next morning, Innara watched in her mirror as Damian dropped Theanna off in front of the coffee shop attached to the D Corp building. With a growl and a sneer, she watched them kiss. She despised them both with a passion. If she didn't need the hybrid to free her love she would’ve done away with the stupid little twit ages ago. Unfortunately, she didn't have the power to destroy Damian. When Mordecai was free she would make sure he was the first to go.

Just as she was about to walk away from her mirror, she saw something that interested her. The human girl that was taking Thea's order. Her soul was so very black and the way she looked at Thea when her back was turned was very interesting. This human wanted power, Daemoni power. She could use that. She could use this girl.

As soon as the girl was alone in the bathroom, Innara used the mirror to appear to her. “Sarah, my darling girl, do you know who I am?”

Sarah gasped in surprise as she nodded. “High Queen Innara,” she whispered.

“You’re correct. I've been watching you while I looked for a special human.”

“You have?”

“I have. I’ve been looking for one as special as you. A girl who deserves the power of a Daemoness. I see the way you look at Theanna, my granddaughter. You desire to be my true daughter, not one who’s a traitor to me, to her family,” Innara enticed.

“Yes, my Queen. I’m loyal only to you.”

“There’s only one way for you to become a true Daemoness. You must do exactly as I say.”

Later that morning, after another meeting with Darius and Helen, Thea was on her way back to her office after treating herself to a coffee and Danish from the cafe. Thea enjoyed her coffee as she took her normal route, passing offices and corridors. She subtly started to notice that things seemed quieter than normal. Pausing she listened as the halls became deathly still and silent.

Suddenly her sixth sense started to scream a warning that something was wrong. Desperately looking around, Thea just knew she wasn’t alone even though the hallway appeared empty except for her. Quickly she headed towards her office. Instead of dissipating, the feeling became stronger. As panic filled her, she dropped her coffee and Danish and began to run.

“Damian, Prince of...” she began, stopping when she found herself unable to talk, her voice seemingly stolen from her.

Then HE appeared before her, dressed in all black, his face hidden by his hooded cloak. She turned to run the other way. Again he was there blocking her way. The creature moved closer to Thea, his clawed hand outstretched as he muttered a strange language that even she didn't know.

With a silent cry, Thea grabbed her head as she felt intense pain that was accompanied by the feeling of a dark, dangerous presence in her mind. The pain got stronger as she felt her mind start to drain away as if the Mythic were sucking it from her. “No!” her mind screamed as she tried to fight back, the pain in her head too powerful for even Nihasia to help her.

Collapsing onto her hands and knees, she slowly began to crawl, desperate to escape the monster that was trying to destroy her. Her mind, her heart, her soul held onto one word, in a desperate attempt to save herself, “Dnirya...”

*Amaymon, the powerful dark prince,*
*I summon thee to do my bidding.*
*I summon thee to heed my call,*
*oh great and powerful lord.*
*Amaymon, hear me and answer my call.*
*Amaymon, I aengabbi esaeu qae yaeza maeny! (I order you to come forth!)*

Damian and his lieutenants were checking the seals on the gates of Ikisat when suddenly Damian growled, his eyes glowing. “I’ll return. Finish checking the gates,” he ordered before vanishing.

Appearing in his true form in a strange attic-like room he hissed at the candles, books, and summoning agents that surrounded him. Turning he found a rather plain looking girl, wearing a gauzy see-through dress, smiling at him. “You! Why do you summon me?” he growled, claws scraping the floor.

“Amaymon, my Prince, I command thee to appear in your human form.”

Deciding to humor her until he learned how she knew his name and who she was, he transformed into his human form, taking great care to watch every response she made, even if subtle. “Who are you and how do you know my name, girl?”

“I’m Sarah, your soon-to-be mate, Dark Prince. How I know your name is of no matter. You’re to be mine,” she replied haughtily as she removed her dress and stood before him naked.

Damian laughed evilly at her. Nothing about her was attractive to him. She had no control over him, she had no control over her own mind. Her thoughts were open to him, showing him her dark desires and her tainted soul. Innara was behind this, for only she could discover his name, yet she knew how little power it held over him.

So why these games?

Sarah approached him, careful to stay outside of the silly pentagram she thought held him trapped. “Soon you’ll claim my body and make me your mate. It’s been promised to me!”

Stepping out of the pentagram his evil smile widened at her gasp. “You think to command me? You think you can summon and trap me without consequence? You’re not my mate, nor will you ever be my mate,” he hissed as he returned to his Daemoni form.

Sarah looked panicked as her bravado kicked in. “Amaymon, you’re mine and I’ll get what I demand. You must obey me. I’ll become the most powerful Daemoness in all of the Dark Realms and I’ll make the humans pay for not giving me all that I want.”

“Pathetic. You know nothing. No mere human can become a Daemoni, nor can you control me,” Damian hissed as he slowly approached her, his claws leaving deep gouges in the wooden floors, destroying the lines of the pentagram. “I have a true mate to whom you can never compare.”

“Not for long!” Sarah spat out before she could stop herself.

Damian grabbed her by the throat, his claws piercing her skin as her blood trickled out and she tried desperately to free herself. “Pitiful human... your secrets are mine!”

Using his long forked tongue, he licked up her blood. His eyes began to glow as he used her blood to rip open her mind further and discover what she tried to hide. Her soul was not just tainted, it was filled with evil. She dreamed of making those around her suffer in horrible ways and of using the blood of the innocent in ways she thought would make her powerful.

Pure anger filled him as he saw more. This girl knew his Thea. Thea had been kind to her many times and yet Sarah only wanted to destroy her and take her place, her evil desires allowing Innara to manipulate her. “You plot to destroy MY mate?!?” he growled loudly. “You’ll learn what happens when you plot against the Daemoni Prince of Ikisat and his mate, when you try to demand what’s not yours. Cazikel, come forth.”

A large foul looking Daemoni, with chains piercing his slimy, bubbling gray skin appeared before them, causing Sarah to try to scream. His eyes were solid black and matched his oozing black rotting teeth. He smelled of death, his job being one of eternal punishment, a job he took great pride and enjoyment from. He was what evil truly feared. Smiling evilly at the girl, Cazikel asked, “How may I serve, my Prince?”

“I have a gift for you. Take her to Ikisat and do what you will to her. She is yours.”

“Anything, my Prince? May I make her scream? I know of new ways to make a human scream.”

“Anything, Cazikel. She plotted to do harm to my Theanna. Her soul is ugly and filled with evil. She belongs to Ikisat now. She’s yours, do what you wish with her,” Damian stated as he handed a desperately struggling Sarah to him without a second thought.

“No, please, I beg you, my Prince. I don’t deserve this, I was meant to be your mate. I command you to free me!”

“I like her. She’ll scream loudly." Cazikel smiled as his chains grew out of his body and encircled her wrists and neck, trapping her to him. Pulling her close, his large black tongue flick out of his mouth, licking the side of her face and tasting her fear. “Yes, yes this one I’ll enjoy. Thank you, my Prince!” As Sarah continued to fight and scream, his laughter drowned her out as they vanished.

Knowing that the pathetic human was being used as a distraction, Damian immediately closed his eyes and tried to connect to his mate. Panic filled his expression as their connection had become incredibly weak and what he felt from her was pain. In an instant he vanished and went to her.
