Book 4 - War of Giants: Chapter 1
Theanna Daniels smiled as she sat watching the people around her. It was a rare evening when she was able to sit back and relax. Smiling contentedly, she enjoyed her cocktail while she waited in the VIP section of Mythos for Damian, her husband, to arrive.
She hadn't been to Mythos in way too long. Since becoming High Queen of the Dark Realms it seemed all she did was work and put out fires, especially between the individual Princes. With a sigh, she realized that she was becoming bored just sitting and waiting for her mate. She wanted to dance and have fun.
She was actually considering summoning Danyael, a unique Daemoni with a style and flair all his own, to come and dance with her when she saw her best friend, Kira Brown, arrive and head towards her. Her guards knew to let her through unless they wanted to irritate their Queen. “KIRA! I didn't expect to see you tonight! I'm stuck waiting for Damian and I'm bored,” Thea enthusiastically exclaimed as she jumped up and grabbed her friend, hugging her tightly.
“Missing the old days when you didn't have all these muscly guards around you?” Kira asked with a giggle.
“YES! They follow me everywhere,” Thea groused.
Kira giggled before lowering her voice and saying, “At least they're nice eye candy. I mean, look at them.”
“Eh,” Thea shrugged. “Most Daemoni in human form are large and muscly, but none look like my Dnirya.”
“Wow! Girly, you sure do have it bad for your man.”
Thea laughed because it was true. “Come on, I want to dance. Look at this fantastic outfit I have to dance in! It's so fun and you know it's going to drive my Prince nuts.” Thea stood up and twirled showing off her black sequined bikini tube top that had shimmering fringe that fell to her mid-thigh. Her very low-rise, tight black pants showed off the curves of her petite figure.
“First of all, AMAZING! Secondly, you could wear a plastic bag and Damian would still be drooling for you. Wait.... is that a new tattoo under there?!? Let me see, girl!”
Moving the fringe aside to show off the super sexy new tattoo she'd gotten, Thea once again appreciated the delicate chains of lace that adorned the underside of her breasts. In the center of the lace sat a Juaar flower, the flower of the Dark Realms which looked really similar to a lotus. It was all done in the most amazing delicate lines and shading that was feminine in every way.
“I managed to get an evening off about a month ago and went to this great tattoo shop in Denver of all places called Banks Ink. Girl, that place is absolutely filled to the brim with hot sexy men. This hot, super broody artist, named Zeke, took care of me. While I was getting inked, his wife, Olivia, who's an amazing artist in her own right, and their office manager, Andrea, were so enamored with Hezin that they actually got him to blush. So much fun! Damian wasn't thrilled by all the male hotness when he found out, but sheesh I'm mated, married and bonded to the man... I can't get more committed than that!”
Kira busted out laughing before saying, “Well, if you like this place it must be fantastic. I'll have to check it out. I've been craving some new ink. Now my dear Queen, you wanted to dance, so let's dance.”

It was late as Avalina Lyell stoically approached the Mythos Club entrance with her younger sister, Sophia. Being new to Los Angeles, this was the first time they'd ever been, even though they'd heard all sorts of stories about the private club. Avalina, Lina to her friends, wasn't thrilled to be at a place filled with a multitude of Mythics but they desperately needed to meet with Filtairn Marrok, the famed Lord of the Lycans, and she honestly had no clue how else to find him.
The line to Mythos was quite long, filled with all manner of Mythics and humans, from the typical Fae and Druids to the less typical Atlantian and Celestian. She even scented the occasional ancient Egyptian and Gargoyle in human form. It was a unique array of Mythics all in one location and not only were they calm, everyone seemed to be laughing and having fun while waiting in line, which fortunately was moving along steadily. The private nightclub was one of a kind. It was the only one in existence that catered to Mythics as well as to the human employees of D Corporation.
Fortunately, she knew that they wouldn't have any issue getting in because while they looked completely human, they were in fact Lycans. Normally, Lycans preferred not to be in such crowded locations as it could completely overwhelm their senses causing them to shift. In this case, though, they had to take the chance. The situation regarding her sister was too unusual and urgent.
As they continued to wait, she looked around. From the outside and the neighborhood it was in, the simple gray-colored concrete building seemed to be a typical small warehouse, but as with most things, appearances could be deceiving. She'd heard that from the outside, Mythos was deceptively small. She'd even heard rumors that the entrance was actually a dimension portal that led to one of the small, uninhabited outer realms. Who knew for sure but she wouldn't doubt it.
Closing her eyes briefly, Lina enjoyed the breeze that blew past them. It was a lovely summer night and all seemed quiet in the neighborhood since the other warehouses appeared to be shut down for the night. Mythos was the only exception. According to what they'd been told by friends who'd been here before, Mythos was always open, whether as a restaurant during the day or nightclub at night. Not all of the Mythics came out during the day, so to truly cater to all Mythics, it had special licenses to remain open 24/7.
With all of the different types of Mythics, many being enemies, one would think Mythos would be a dangerous place. The opposite was actually true. Darius Deus, head of D Corporation and backer of Mythos had formed an alliance with powerful guardian Daemoni to protect Mythos and maintain the peace. No violence was allowed.
To protect the humans from knowing too much, any human that entered Mythos had to either work at D Corp or come by express invitation of a Mythic and almost always remembered visiting but not what the inside was like, or who they met. It was better for humans and Mythics alike.
“I can't believe we're finally going to have some fun. All this traveling has been so boring!” Sophia bemoaned.
“We're here to find Filtairn Marrok. Nothing else,” Lina stated in a deadpan voice. “We need to figure out what’s going on with you.”
“I know but I can't pass up the chance to enjoy visiting the infamous Mythos Club. Wouldn't it be nice to find a nice body to warm the bed with?”
“Not now and not here. One word. Cottontail,” Lina smirked.
“Really? Low blow, Avalina Anastasia Lyell. Low blow,” Sophia huffed with exasperation as she rolled her eyes at her. Sophia was beautiful and knew it. At twenty-one, she loved to have fun. With her long blonde hair, curvy figure and baby-blue eyes, she usually had her pick of men.
That kind of attention was far from desirable in their clan. Once they'd made it to the US and had left that life behind them, they'd both breathed a sigh of relief. Away from all of that, Sophia was finally letting loose.
She'd made Lina pull over and rent a motel room so they could shower and get ready for this evening. She had on a cute summery dress that actually wasn't too small. Her strappy sandals, while perhaps not ideal for a nightclub, did look cute on her.
“Just try to stay out of trouble, alright? We need Filtairn's help, not to end up with more problems to deal with. Mythos is famous for its high level clientele and I don't need you creating any problems with them,” Lina admonished.
“I know, I know,” Sophia pouted at her older sister.
“You look pretty, by the way. I really like that dress on you.”
“Really? I didn't want to stress you out and go too crazy so I was hoping you’d like this dress,” Sophia beamed at her.
Lina smiled at her, “I do.” Lina was five years older than Sophia and they only had each other, their parents dying when Sophia was young.
As she perused the area, Lina scrunched up her nose. With Lycan senses she could pick up even the lightest scent and the scent in the air in this neighborhood was dingy and old with more than a trace of mold. That’s until a completely different smell filled her nose.
“Mmmmm, Lina do you smell that?” Sophia whispered, her intense blue eyes closed. “That's yummy!”
“I do... it smells... alluring. A sensual musk with power,” Lina replied softly.
“There’s the smallest trace of something else... eww, is that a bit of sulfur? Daemoni?!?” Sophia gasped. “I've never seen a Daemoni in person!”
As they looked around, a tall, dark-haired and extremely gorgeous man with a regal way about him, wearing tight black jeans and a black t-shirt that showed off a muscular body, walked by on his cell phone, flanked by several giant menacing guards.
“Oh my screaming thigh sweats,” Sophia swooned. “That’s a man I’d kill to have! I wouldn't even care that he was Daemoni!”
Lina smirked as she watched the man enter Mythos without so much as a pause. “I wonder who that was?” she mused. “By his look and attitude he definitely wasn't a lowly Daemoni.”
“If Daemoni frequent here, do you think we’ll get to meet THE Theanna? I've heard that Filtairn knows her!” Sophia wondered excitedly as they finally approached the Mythos entrance bouncer.
