Chapter 17 ** Come Closer! **

[ VERONICA'S POV ]

I never expected that Blake would do something so impulsive. My breathing caught in my lungs after he threw himself inside the deep ocean without caring for his own life.

I must admit that Victoria was lucky to get such devoted man in her marriage life!

I heard the desperate splashing of his arms and his pleading, anxious voice that was uttering out one name repeatedly,
" Victoria! Victoria! Victoria! Don't leave! "

I held the railings in my grip and stared down hard into the water. The moon was hanging up in the sky and showered the ocean with its bright light. The glistening from the moonshine helped me to look into his drowning silhouette.

Just after he shouted and tried to swim forward, a strong wave brushed past his body and I no longer couldn't able to see his dark eyes..

Swimming inside the ocean wasn't easy at all. Even professional swimmers feared to swim inside the ocean as it produced powerful waves to drown you into the dark alley of underocean.

I couldn't conceal my frustration and fear anymore. Snapping my head at Asher who was hell confused as I was, I yelled from the top of my lungs,
" Asher! Do something! He is drowning! Save him! We can find Victoria later but save him first."

My scream probably helped Asher to get back in his conscious state. He slammed on the railings angrily and cursed through his gritted teeth,
" Damn it! BLAKE! "

He whipped his head at the troop nearby and commanded in his powerful voice,
" What are you looking for? Get inside the water! Take him out of the water! Now! "

Four to five men soon after followed his command and jumped inside the water. They were trained and professional enough to dive into the ocean.

I started to pant in fear. My breathing turned erratic and I prayed that my asthema attack didn't come back. I didn't why I just wanted to see him once safe and sound. He did all the bad things to me yet his death horrified my soul as if breathing had been a burden for me.

With or without my consciousness, my tears gathered up inside my eyes and threatened to fall down. I sniffed my nose before uttering under my breath,
" You must be safe, Blake! "

Asher's survival troop did an amazing job. They pulled out Blake from the deep ocean in less than a few minutes. I exhaled a deep breath of relief when I heard that he was fine except the unconsciousness that happened due to his choking with the salty water.

Asher led us inside the tiny room and helped him to lay down on the bed. Blake was drenched heavily even the wetness of his white poly shirt were so much that it highlighted his pink little nipples from his chest.

I looked my eyes away from him with a slight blush. Faint rows of tears were still glistening on my cheeks. Asher perhaps noticed them and I was glad that he didn't ask for an explanation!

Well, I didn't had the idea why I started crying like a five years old toddler.

Asher pulled me into hug by my shoulders and assured me in a soft voice,
" Hey, baby girl! No more crying! He has been saved and well now. He will sleep for hours probably as he had drunk much water."

I hummed and murmured lowly,
" What will we do now? Are we still going to land on that island tonight?"

Asher breathed heavily. His eyes watched deeply Blake who was still in his conscious state,
" We are postponing the landing for the time being. We will wait for Blake until he regains his conscious. Meantime, you take rest and watch over him for the night. I will be outside watching over the areas whole night. This area is dangerous and we need a strict security."

I nodded in understanding and assured pulling my eyes at Blake who looked dull,
" I will take care of him. No need to be worried! You go ahead and make sure everyone's safety."

Asher gave me a warm smile and showed some pills that needed to be fedded by Blake. Lucky Asher had come fully prepared and they had their own professional doctor. Blake's treatment didn't take much time to begin. The doctor assured me that he didn't had any severe injury. He could mostly get fever at night since he was heavily soaked by the water and stayed under the ocean for a while.


They left alone in their undergarment room. Sitting across the bed, I stared down at his shaved face. He was looking calm without any sign of his overbearing expression. My tears started to gather up again when his self sacrifice vision came in front of my eyes.

He didn't care about himself and thrown himself in danger! Now I worried that whether he would be able to survive or not if in any chance, Victoria wasn't alive in this world any longer.

I waited an hour for him to wake up. He was still in his unconscious state and didn't wake up at all. When I thought of taking a peak on Asher, Blake's low groan came out huskily.

I paused in my way and got back on my spot. Happy smile spareded through my lips and my emotional tears couldn't be hold back any longer. They began to fall down relentlessly and my voice came out chokingly,
" Blake...You wake up? Thanks Jesus! I was..so.. worried..."

I whinned literally and began to sob silently. He struggled to keep his vision clearer and whispered my name softly,
" Veronica! "

I assured clasping his palms to ensure my presence and muttered incoherently,
" I am.. here...I am here.."

His eyes dialeted slightly and intense gaze penetrated through my soul. Taking a deep look of my stained face, he questioned huskily,
" Why..why are you crying?"

I blushed a little after his reminder. I couldn't find correct syllables to create a perfect excuse and muttured few words nervously,
" I..I was.. just... scared..I.. I thought that I lost you too like Victoria.."

He stared unblinkingly at me for a while and gestured at him in a weak tone,
" Come here! "

I looked back at him in confusion and tried to register his actual closer. He sighed softly through his pale lips and got up supporting on his knees.

I reached to help him out but he signed at me telling that he would be fine all alone. I stayed numb in my position as he bobbed up his head to look at me.

With a faint smile, he corrected his words waving his hand at me slowly,
" Come closer! "

I compelled and scooted closer until we were few inches apart from each others. He lifted up his left arm swiftly and pressed my head against his chest.

My breathing hitched when I heard his abrupt heartbeats!

I heard his mew voice above my head,
" Silly! Why did you cry? "

His soft voice worked magically on me and opened up all my pains and frustrations. I broke out in tears and buried my head into his chest, mumbled on my words,
" I was scared, Blake! I..I thought that you would dissapare like Victoria! I..I couldn't control myself.. What would have happened if they never found
you? "

Blake's body stiffened a little after my words. He began to stroke on my back soothingly and cooed me softly,
" Husshh.. Don't cry anymore..I am out of danger..Hush..."

I cried harder at his soft soothing voice as if he cared about my emotions. My tears were like an endless stream flowed down without any limits and soaked his newly worn Black T-shirt.

His fingers dived inside my hairs to pull up my face. Arching my head up to see his handsome face, he emphasized his words threateningly,
" Didn't I ask you to stop crying?"

My lips puffed ready for another round of crying but it was forcefully held down when he crashed his lips against mine without any prior notice.

I froze but immediately found myself in cloud nine when he plunged his tongue inside my mouth. His tongue began to suck and bite my lips in a punishing manner. His kiss was urgent and hungry as if he was starving for them.

I was so close to make a moan. His lips tasted so good that made me intoxicated. I whimpered at response and encouraged him to do something more. My nipples turned hard at his sensual touches as he ran his warm hand across my back.

The moment we shared didn't last longer as he left my lips and pressed his forehead against my one. Taking a bite of his own lips, he breathed in straight line like an obvious command,
" Stay with me here, Veronica! "
