Chapter 18 *** Kissed My Brother-in-law! ***

[ VERONICA'S POV ]

I was still dwelling my dream and reality. What happened between us was too surreal for me?

We kissed each others! Blake and I actually kissed!!

Even the thought sent me goosebumps all over my skin as I laid flat on his arms. He asked me to stay and I just obeyed laying on his side like his little pillow. We ended that unexpected kiss long back but his smell was still lingering in my mind.

To be honest, I enjoyed the kiss damnly! It was hot and craving at the same time! My sinful mind even hoped that our kiss would last longer.

I sighed in contentment when I felt his arms snaked around my waist. He went back to sleep after his firm order. I would have really hallucinated myself if I didn't hear my name spelling out from his tongue.

He kissed me willingly to comfort me or for what reason?

Whatever his intention was, it was successful. I enjoyed the kissing as much as he did. We both needed comfort tonight and so I accepted.

With a refreshing mind, I fell asleep in his embrace smelling the fresh scent of his shirt.

I didn't know for how long we slept together. When I opened my eyes, there was a chaos buzzing outside. Looking out through the little window, I saw people running all over the ship.

I turned my face aside to find Blake but the space was empty. His urgent voice came out from the other side as he buttoned his t-shirt without making an eye-contact with me,
" There's a trouble nearby. Asher and his troops are in hurry. I am going to have a look. You can sleep a little longer."

I hummed oddly before turning my face on other side. Heat creepted through my cheeks when I recalled how passonately we kissed each others last night. He looked so casual but why was I getting ashamed?

I didn't turn my face to look at him second time and waited for him to leave. When I didn't hear anymore movements, I whipped my face behind to peer and was caught red-handed by his pair of dark blue eyes.

I was stunned before turning crimson. He teared his eyes away from me with same awkwardness and reminded me in haste,
" Remember to have your breakfast before you leave the room."

Then he left closing the door off consideringly with all my shyness. I breathed in easiness and bit down my lips together. A surge of emotion immediately swallowed my soul as I murmured shedding a single teardrops from my eyes,
" I...I..am sorry Victoria! I just kissed my brother-in-law! "

I left the tiny room after dealing with my emotions. I found Asher and Blake chatting together on the front ground of ship and had a complicated emotions.

I skidded past to them avoiding the hurried soldiers and decided to join them in conversation. Asher sent me a worried look at my presence and spoke with a half smile,
" You are awake finally. We have a situation here."

I looked straight through his eyes and made sure that I didn't look at Blake's gaze,
" What happened?"

Asher sighed and explained the situation shortly,
" We sent a troop to eye on their situation but they have figured out about our existence. Now they have captured all the member of that troop. We have no choice but to send another troop to look for them."

Blake's voice came out in guilt. He pinched between his eyebrows and spoke lowly,
" This is all my fault. I shouldn't have been so reckless last night."

Asher didn't blame him harshly. He only snorted annoymously one time and spoke tightening his brows together,
" What did you see exactly?"

Blake stared up and shifted his eyes between us. Taking a gulp of his own saliva, he spoke with a deep sigh,
" I saw a woman's back which looked exactly same alike Victoria. I couldn't stop myself from this anxiety."

Asher pondered in deep thoughts and asked for further confirmation,
" Did you see her face? "

Blake shook his head denying and replied with a deep sigh,
" No! There wasn't so much light to detect correctly but I was quite sure that her back looked same like Victoria. What do you think? Was it really Victoria or were they trying to fool us?"

Asher seemed to look deep through all the informations that he had captured in his head. Pursuing his lips together, he spoke in obvious suspension lacing out from his voice,
" Is their any reason except that missing case that Victoria would hide herself from you?"

Blake's expression went through several changes. I understood that he was surprised my Asher's question. He shook his head almost numbly and murmured through his parted lips,
" No! We never had any conflict before the fire took place. I don't see any reason of Victoria's sneaking."

Asher hummed before pulling his eyes down at the floor beneath us. He replied in a mysterious voice,
" I hope every information that you have provided is correct, Blake."

I furrowed at his words and asked with worry,
" Are those soldiers all dead?"

Asher spoke pulling his eyes at the ocean ahead of us,
" We still don't know..May be all are dead or some lucky one might have managed to save his life.. But this possiblity is too less as the entire territory belongs to Raven Mafias. They have control over all the places that fall under their territory."

I swallowed the guilt and felt bad for those soldiers. They had lost their lives to work for us. At the same time, I felt a great admiration towards Asher who had won several missions and obtained this higher rank in Military.

I grabbed his palm subconsciously and thanked him sincerely since he was behind everything,
" Thank you, Asher! I don't know how to repay you."

Asher patted on my hand as if I was his little pet and coaxed softly,
" No thanks in friendship. Just treat me meals after we are done finding Victoria."

Blake coughed regaining our attention and suggested with a frown,
" So what are you going to do next?"

Before Asher could reply, we all heard an uproar from the other direction. Few soldiers dragged a woman on our way whose back was facing us. One of them yelled at us loudly,
" Chief,we have found this woman wandering in their territory."

Blake and I both screamed out in unison as we watched her dragging back,
" VICTORIA! "
