Two weeks had passed in a blink of eye. Everything had changed faster than flipping a single page. After Veronica had been declared not guilty to the nation, People started focusing more on her modeling career. She started getting offers from reputated brands of B Nation. The only thing that didn't change in her mind was Blake. He called her several times to get in touch with her but she ignored. She took Kelly's suggestion seriously. She was more focused in her jobs and life rather than paying attention on emotional things.

But things weren't going same from Victoria. Her agency received many contract termination notice during the past few days as they all wanted to work with Veronica. Even rumors of being the next supermodel of the year, Veronica Knight was spreading across the nation like fire.

Victoria pinched at the corner of a magazine. She was supposed to become the cover page but Veronica was smiling at the front page. They changed her during the leave and decided to take Veronica.

Victoria was a possessive woman. No matter it was fame or money, she needed everything. Now getting defeated by her younger sister deeply bothered her. She threw the magazine away and lit up a cigarette before walking down to stand in front of the transparent window.

Her gaze darkened at the evening lights. Taking long puffs from her cigarette, she made a phone call and asked in a deep helpless voice,
" Is he out?"
The other party gave him negative answer as she let out a growl of anger. Throwing away the phone from her grip, she took another long puff before mumbling under her breath,
" Forgive me, Veronica but I can't accept defeat."

Veronica was busy in her photoshoot with a diamond brand. Her eyes carried emotions as she posed for the shoot and received several praises from the staffs.

On her break time, she was scrolling through weibo sitting on a chair as her assistant came in. Her assistant informed blinking her eyes nervously,
" Mam, there's someone waiting for you in your room."

Veronica looked up from her phone and frowned asking out curiously,
" Who?"

The assistant appeared a little taken back before sutured out nervously,
" I..I.am not sure..How about you go and meet him.. personally?"

Veronica was reluctant but thinking twice that the person might be Asher who was all set to fly for B Nation, Veronica hauled up from the chair to head for the way.

Veronica pushed open the door and stepped in as she found no one in her first impression. Narrowing her gaze suspiciously, she wanted to call someone but heard a familiar voice from her back,
" It seems like I have to take appointment from now on before meeting you."

Veronica jerked turning around to face the man that she missed damnly. His blue heated eyes met her as she started breathing heavily.

Her mouth opened and parted in hesitation before uttering out nervously,
" Blak..I mean.. Brother-in-law.. You?"

Blake's expression went through several changes of emotions. He stepped forward to pull her closer and whispered angrily,
" Is that how you greet me after hiding from me for two weeks?"

Veronica's heart pounded faster at their proximity. But she was more than afraid since it was her staff room and anyone could walk in. She was afraid of hurting Victoria.

Veronica struggled to break free from his grip as she muttered weakly,
" Let go...let go of me.. Blake..I don't want to talk to you.."

Blake didn't heed on her words. He directly pulled her into his chest and spoke hugging her body tightly,
" I missed you so much! You didn't even talk to me."

Tears of emotions threatened to fall down from Veronica's eyes but she pretended to be hard on surface.

Mustering up her strength, she dodged before pushed him away ruthlessly. Blake stared back at her shockingly as she started speaking between her muffled sobs,
" I can't do this anymore, Blake.I can't.. Please stop coming over to me.."

Blake's gaze melted after seeing her tears. He approached slowly and cautiously,
" Why? What happened Veronica? You know that I want you more than anything else."

Veronica sniffed before asking him coldly,
" Have you spoken about us to Victoria?"

Blake's face stiffened a little before replied nervously,
" I will..soon..Is that why you are angry with me?"

Veronica shook her head before speaking in a choking and loud voice of agony,
" What will you say her, Blake? What? That you have cheated on her with her own younger sister. She has lost her child and her life for your old grudges with those Mafia. How will you say her that you want divorce from her? Do you have the heart of breaking her apart after everything?"

Blake persued his lips together but couldn't say something. Indeed he was finding various excuses to tell Victoria these days but he couldn't just do it no matter how much he tried.

His voice came out like whisper,
" I..I can try at least.."

Veronica shook her head rapidly before saying blatantly,
" No, Blake! You can't. We both know that we can't watch Victoria suffering for no reason. Before we burn ourselves in our own guilts, it is best for us to get separated from each others. In that way, at least we won't live in guilt forever."

Blake's body shivered in disbelief. His ocean eyes blazed in pain and emotions as he staggered a step ahead before asking out Veronica disbelievingly,
" Is.. is that what you really.. want? Veronica?"

Veronica pinched on her own plams hardly before replied in a low voice,
" Ye.. Yes... Blake...for everyone's good sake.."

Blake questioned again staring down at her face emotionally,
" What about me? Have you asked about me?"

Veronica swallowed before stating through her parted lips,
" Victoria is the love of your life, Blake. You.. you will eventually forget about me. We both had only one month shared between us. It's best that we walk in our own path before falling deeper."

Blake squeezed his eyes shut in pain and swallowed the heart wrenching pain into his stomach. No matter what he said, Veronica was speaking the truth. Since she wasn't willing to battle for this relationship, he couldn't be blockage of this relationship anymore.

Blake reopened his eyes to stare at Veronica who didn't even look back into her eyes. Swallowing hard, he replied through his ragged breathing,
" If.. it's really that you.. want.. from me..I will respect.. your wish.. But remember one more thing, Veronica. You have my heart."
