The Demon Lord

**Aileen POV**

"Hello son."
While Trevor and I were frozen from the sheer magnitude of this demon's aura, Devon was still for a completely different reason. Devon bore no wound that I could see. The damage was internal. That man couldn't be...
The demon lord grinned wide. He had the same shade of blonde hair as Devon. The same lips and eyes I was mesmerized with on Devon, repulsed me on his features. Chuckling mockingly, he chose to introduce himself, "do you recognize me after all these years son? This little human pest is at least smart enough to fear me. But Shiuku's pussy seems to be quite dim. Are you planning to attack my dear? Sure I can't kill you, but there are many worse things I am permitted to do."
"Leave her alone!" Trevor found his courage. "Let us through. I have someone to find."
"Now why would I listen, or answer to the man who watched as my beloved daughter, his true love, was murdered in cold blood!" His tone made it clear he meant none of his words. "Devon, are you okay working with the rodent responsible for your sister's death? Why don't you kill him and I'll get Shiuku's wet hole out of here. The entire building will be coming down shortly."
*"You're only good as a man's personal hole, whore princess. I know you love being our toy." I'm Devon's plaything only. I absolutely love being his. And don't worry, there will be a demon lord joining you in hell shortly. You can be his toy!* I argued internally. Sir Alaric's damage to me would never completely disappear, but I was more than capable of combating my trauma now.
"Don't call her that!" Devon roared.
Just like when Shiuku had belittled us, Devon's eyes turned bright red. Was this man really my loving Devon's father? No, he sold Devon. Took away his inheritance. Darren caused Devon so much pain and distress at Shiuku's hands. He has no right to make a parental claim. He has no idea what hell Devon has endured. That is not a Father!
Of course that bitch who was so cruel to my brother was his daughter. The two of them were very much alike. I guess he didn't sell her like he did Devon.
"I am simply stating facts. Go fight the DSS boy. I will handle Aileen in your steed. Shiuku called me and said he was...unsatisfied with your recent performance. He does not trust in your ability to protect his little fuck any longer."
"Don't talk about her like that again, Demon Lord Darren." Venom was in every syllable. Wind started blowing around Devon's hair and the ground that had been shaking already, was cracking under his feet.
This time the demon lord was howling in laughter. "So the rumor is true? Your sister told me how you seduced Shiuku's whore. How pathetic. I was right to keep your sister. She is smart and cunning. You are chasing a knocked up bitch that can't keep her legs closed. She must be a grand fuck. Perhaps I shall ask Shiuku to sell her to me after that brat comes out."
A chill ran up my spine. That man may not have manipulated me like Shiuku, but I hated him with a passion. Was this a sneak peak to how Shiuku would treat our son? I could absolutely picture Shiuku selling me off, so I couldn't "weaken" our son.
My hands bunched into fists. I might need my baby's power here. A shame, I really wanted to hold out until Shiuku got here. Well, I knew things were going too smoothly. Here was where it all would start to fall apart.
Darren fisted his hands together, causing all four walls to start caving in. The demon lord was really the source of the castle's destruction. Shiuku wanted his hideout destroyed?
"You aren't touching my true love! She's MINE!"
Devon sprinted, almost as irrationally as Trevor had earlier, right at the smirking demon lord. Dareen barely shifted in his stance while dodging blow after blow. The smirk grew wider with every feeble attempt from my love. Feigning boredom, Darren made a move. His eye color swirled silver. So the demon lord favored wind just like Devon.
Large swirls of tornadoes sped towards Devon. As Devon called on his own ability, the tornadoes split into large sharp arches. They flew faster than my eyes could track. A loud crash and we all saw Devon's falling from a large crevice in the wall eight feet up. He landed face first into the rubble caused by the impact.
To my horror, even with the boost from Devon's bloodlust, the difference in power was obvious. Trevor hadn't moved yet. I don't think he'd ever been close to a demon lord's aura before. He would be useless here. Not only was Trevor way outmatched, he still wanted to see if that girl had stolen his true love's aura. Or if she had been lying to get him to act recklessly. I could see either being true. Maybe I could distract the demon lord so Trevor could leave. Would that be too obvious?
A scream tore me from my inner debate. Devon was pinned by a whirlwind of debrey. The wind scratched and ripped at his body. The slabs of stone gave him blunt force trauma. There was more red than blonde showing atop his head. One jagged piece of ground circled in the whirlwind gaining momentum. It shot up and slashed vertically in the middle of Devon's right eye. I expected him to continue screaming, but he became deathly silent. His good eye fluttered open, trying to call on his own abilities again. The left remained closed under the nasty gash.
I zeroed in on the demon lord now cackling to himself like some evil witch. Already, I could feel myself filling with rage and a desire to send Darren to hell with Sir Alaric.
Before I could attack the demon lord, Trevor grabbed my hand. He yanked me back hard with a stern face. He nudged his chin towards the laughing demon lord. Just reading my brother's expression I knew what he was trying to say. I may gain an incredible boost during bloodlust, but this man was obscenely overpowered. I couldn't risk my baby's life; no matter how much I wanted to save Devon.
There had to be something that I could do! I felt helpless knowing Trevor and I were sitting ducks.
Childishly I yelled over the wind, "pretty sad that a 1000 year old demon lord has to keep his 26 year old opponent trapped. Are you that scared of a random member of the DSS?"
No way was I referring to Devon as his son. Darren didn't deserve to be considered a parent.
Amazingly, Darren gave into my taunt. The silver and brown left his eyes. The wind dissipated and the hunks of building fell to the ground, Devon along with them. In the middle of the rubble, Devon was twitching. It was clear by the fact he was still alive that Darren had been playing with him. There was no time to see how deep the injuries he sustained were. Darren was taking slow steps towards us.
Meekly, Devon spread his hands to use some ground ability. Without giving Devon the slightest acknowledgement, the demon lord stomped his foot once. A large pillar rose from under Devon's stomach. He was lifted at least ten feet into the air. It took everything in me to turn back towards the advancing demon lord. Trevor unsheathed his sword ready to defend me.
"Really Lover Boy? You think you can stop me? I was watching the interaction between you and my daughter. She really was my pride and joy. A shame she let herself get too focused on messing with you. She should have sensed that sneak attack a mile away. Very disappointing, but you were completely useless against her; weren't you?"
I wonder where she got the need to gloat and harass from. God, was I tempted to roll my eyes at him.
"Now then, if you want to stab someone I would suggest that worm crawling on the floor. I must get that girl out of here before the whole building comes down."
Studily Trevor fell for the bait, "what worm crawling?"
Demon Lord Darren was ecstatic at Trevor's question. He flopped his hand downwards and the stone pillar shook. Devon was tossed lifelessly to the ground. A small grunt left his mouth when he hit the floor.
*He's okay. He's a demon lord's son. He is much more resilient than that! He has to be okay!*
Darren brought his hand to his side. Wind swirled and collided, forming a brutal sword like shape. My body tensed up preparing for whatever was to come. I knew he wouldn't kill me, but he made himself very transparent. There were worse things he could do to get me to come with him.
"Stay away from my light." Devon panted out. He used a giant block to support himself to his knees. My love spit up flem and blood. "I'm your opponent, Demon Lord Darren."
Darren sneered at the shaking figure of Devon. Raising his hand, the blade enlarged. Each step he took towards Devon, pieces of the floor broke off and propelled towards him. Devon was able to stop them before they bulleted into his flesh.
I thought hard about what Lena had said prior to Trevor's pursuit for his possible true love. What had she been suggesting? Whatever it was, I could really use it now! My head was swimming in different possible scenarios and how they might end. Letting my baby's aura control me was off the table still. I couldn't afford losing my senses and blindly fighting.
Devon had both his arms stretched in front of him. He was struggling to keep the wind from piercing his chest. The one eye Devon could open had little silver lines crackling like lightning around the iris. Fecking hell, I guess nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I shoved my palms in front of my body, imitating Devon. Nothing happened. I stretched my limbs as far forward as I could. I heard my shoulder blades crack, but again; nothing.
Trevor bolted to Devon's aid. The demon lord simply flung my brother back effortlessly. I guess messing with Trevor wasn't as fun as torturing the man he sold as a child.
"Well, it turns out both my children were disappointments. I got a whore daughter who left home to sleep with Shiuku and a love struck lapdog wanting to fuck his Master's woman. And I get to witness both their deaths today! Ah well, it's time to say goodbye son. I must get Shiuku's bedmate out of here."
"Don't call him your son! You have no right! Devon is an amazing man, while you're lower than the shit on a shoe." I shouted.
"Such a mouth. If Shiuku sells you, I'll shove a bar of soap down your throat."
Demons like him really did view everyone as property. He spoke the same as those monsters that would accept a "reward". Absolutely zero chance I was letting them take over anything!
Darren's eyes gleamed brighter than earlier. He was really going to kill the man he claimed fatherhood over!
In one more desperate attempt to stop him, I placed my hands in front of me, concentrating on an image of snuffing out the elemental power radiating off Darren's aura. I closed both my eyes as something tingling in my veins.
"The fuck!" Darren spun on his heel, barreling straight for me. He lifted me by the collar of my shirt. "Shiuku said you weren't an elemental! How are you countering both my abilities!?"
I wanted to laugh. Truly, I hadn't the foggiest idea. Judging by his reaction and my lack of enhanced senses, my eyes weren't red.
Reinforcements came from the end of the room. My friends had finished their fights and gotten rid of the barricade! Lena started healing Devon as quickly as possible.
Lena looked up at Darren and I. "Her baby seems to have sacrificed a bit of his aura. She was gifted an ability; an old demon like you should remember. It's just like in the old days with the original guardian!"
"Look at who finally made an appearance. Done hiding?" Darren would be able to sense her aura and more importantly that she could use all five elements.
I wanted to test what Lena was saying. With all my might, I tried to throw some kind of ground at him. I tried water too only to get the same result.
"Ha! She can't fully use the elements! The first gift given to a human, rather than inheriting it, in hundreds of years and it only counters! So much for thinking the girl might be a threat." Darren reached for his wind again.
Lena shook her head, "a fetus giving anything is pretty impressive."
As they spoke, I could feel exhaustion taking over. There was no way I was keeping this up for much longer. I called on any sliver of strength I could. Somehow I managed to temporarily seal a portion of Darren's aura. He was weakened, but still stronger than most high ranked demons.
"Bitch!" I could see how hard it was for him not to kill me. He feared Shiuku just enough for me to be safe.
"I may not be the toughest fighter, but I am a protector! My unborn child's gift is a reflection of who I am!"
We had to finish this fight soon. Diminished power, or not; he was still a deadly enemy. Lena was worn out from breaking all the marks and the rest of the team would be getting tired from their own battles.
"Go. Shiuku could be here any second."
We all looked at Devon. He was finally standing unsupported. Most of his wounds had stopped bleeding. His eyes were now both opened, but a thin scar had formed where his left eye had been sliced.
"Go, I can take him." He winked at me, "Let me prove to the King of Lutz what an asset the Lord of Vernen can be."
