Chapter 20: I Agree

Karas POV

After that, the day went on like normal. I was finishing up my shift cashing in my tips and clocking out. Marcus walked into the diner. It looked like he had been in a fight. He had a busted lip and a black eye. If he had blood on his clothes, I did not see any. He had probably changed before he came back.

" Marcus, what happened?" I asked.

" Nothing for you to worry about," he stated.

" We will see about this," I stated.

I then walked out of the diner and got into the car. I will get a ride today. I needed to change into my gi. We pulled up to the dojo and I got out of the car. I did not wait for Marcus to open the door. I walked into the front part of the dojo. There was a class going on. David was not here yet. I bowed to the assistant instructor and walked to the ladies' locker room.

I sat my gym bag on the bench and started to change. The other girls came in.

" Hey Kara." they greeted me.

" Hey Sherry." I returned the greeting.

I did not learn the other girl's name. But there again she never introduced herself. All of us girls changed. We put our stuff in the lockers. Then we headed out of the locker room. David was there now. He looked over at me and smiled. Sherry nudged me in the ribs.

" It looks like my uncle likes you," she stated.

Her uncle. She was young enough to be his niece. She was maybe 14 or 15. I wondered why she was only a white belt. If her uncle was a karate instructor, I bowed in. Then we got all lined up. He wanted the girls to do some running and jumping jacks. As we ar running and doing jumping jacks, he is explaining that keeping our bodies in shape is essential for learning karate.

We ran 6 laps and did at least five sets of jumping jacks. Then we switched. It was the girls' turn to hit the punching bags. I was working on my stance and practicing my white belt form when David walked up behind me.

" Hey baby." he whispered.

" Hey." I responded back.

"I'm sorry about those men coming to the diner today," he stated.

" Its ok." I responded.

" What did they want?" I asked.

"It's about a fight," he stated.

I turned around and looked him in the eye.

" What fight?" I asked.

" I will tell you another time," he responded.

What did he mean? He said he would tell me another time. I returned to practicing my punches and pivoting my hips as well.

" Next week is a test. We will see what you have learned and who's ready to get their belt and who needs more time." David stated.

" Yes sensi." we all stated in unison.

Class was over and David had his black belt class next. I decided that I was going to hang around to talk to him. I watched the black belts. They were all excellent.

" Line up class." he stated.

They all lined up.

" In two weeks is the tournament that you have been training for," David stated.

" Yes sensi." they all said in unison.

He dismissed the class. Some of them went to the locker room to change and some just left. David went to change. He came out wearing a jogging outfit. We went to his office. He closed the door as there were still people leaving.

" What do you want to talk about," he asked.

" About last night," I stated.

" Yes, have you decided?" he asked.

" Yes I have." I stated.

I walked over to the window in the office and closed the blinds. Then I walked over to him and gave him a deep and passionate kiss. That should give him his answer. The look on his face was a happy look. He then kissed me back. He pulled me close. We were in an embrace when there was a knock on the door. We ended our embrace.

" Come in," he stated.

" Hey, uncle David," Sherry stated.

" Where is your mom?" he asked.

"She's on her way," she stated.

" Ok" he stated.

Sherry left the room. I waited for him to finish cleaning the dojo. We led hand in hand. He opened the door for me and I got in the car. Marcus was told he could go home. David took me home. To my surprise, mother was home. I knew she was going to throw a fit. He pulled in the driveway. The lights were on in the kitchen.

I got out of the car and I could smell fried chicken cooking. It smelt so good. David walked me to the door. I gave him a quick kiss goodbye. I told him I would see him tomorrow. I opened the front door and walked in. I dropped my gym bag on the couch and went to find mother. She was in the kitchen cooking dinner.

" Hey mother," I greeted her.

" Hey Kara." she returned the greeting.

" How was your day?" she asked.

" It was good. How was your day?" I asked.

" It was good I got off early." she stated.

" Why" I asked.

"Because we settled a big account," she stated.

That was cool. She has only been working there a few days. But she was like that. That's why we had to move a lot. She was sent to different states to fix a company and bring in more money for the company. She told me that this company was going under and that it would take a long time to fix it. That we would live here for at least 2 or 3 years.

Which was a good thing. I would at least have my CNA and two years of nursing school accomplished. Also, that would give me and David time to see where our relationship goes. I helped mother finish cooking dinner. We had fried chicken and corn on the cob. I loved mother's fried chicken. It was so good.

I finished eating my dinner and helped clear the table. I went upstairs to take a shower. It was Friday. I have the weekend off. I had planned on exploring the city a little bit. After my shower, I went to the garage to find my bike. When I walked into the garage, there was a man in there.
