Chapter 33: Not Listening

Kara POV

Class was over. I went to the locker room to change. David came out of the men's locker room and was wearing what he was wearing during the class. He did not have his gi today. He wore no shirt and a pair of gym shorts. Blue, in fact. I loved the color blue. He finished locking things down while I waited in the car with Marcus.

" Marcus, when he leaves I want you to follow him." I stated.

" Ms Kara, I don't think that is a good idea," he stated.

" Well, you're supposed to drive me where I want to go, and I want to follow him." I stated.

" I will have to call the boss," he stated.

" Please don't call the boss." I half asked, half begged.

"I'm not going to follow him." he stated.

He was not going to do it. I then came up with an idea. I would get out and act like I had forgotten something in the dojo. I knew Marcus had a key. I started digging around in my duffle bag.

" Shoot, I forgot my phone in the dojo. Can you please unlock it, so I can run in real quick." I asked.

" Yes Ms Kara," Marcus responded.

He got out and started to head to the door. I got out and acted like I was going to follow him. I quickly grabbed his cell phone out of his back pocket and jumped into the driver's seat. David was at the light about a block up. I quickly threw the car in drive and started following him.

Marcus was running after the car. He finally gave up. I followed David to an abandoned parking garage. Surprisingly, for an abandon parking garage it was in excellent condition. There were three stories. I had to pay at the gate to enter. The first level had limos and expensive cars. The second level looked like it had been turned into makeshift locker rooms. There were girls that barely had any clothes on.

That was making my blood boil. Why on earth would David be in a place like this with women that are barely dressed? Also, at the far end there was a medical tent and ambulances. You could hear cheering coming from above. For secret fights there was alot of noise. I guess that is why it was clear in the middle of nowhere.

On the third level there was a ring that had been set up. There were bleachers where people were sitting. There were also seats around the ring. Some of the girls that were barely dressed were sitting there. Before I even had time to react, I felt someone grab my arm and spin me around. It was Marcus.

" Kara, this is no place for you," he stated.

" David is going to have a fit when he realizes you followed him here," he stated.

" Why, I'm not fighting, and I'm not in any danger," I stated.

" That is where you are wrong," he stated.

He ushered me towards the first level. We were stopped half way there.

" Who do you have here, Marcus?" some man asked him.

" Nobody you should concern yourself with," he responded.

" She is sure pretty," the man responded.

" Yes she is, and she is coming with me," he responded.

" Sorry Marcus, but she belongs to David, and we need her to stay," he stated.

" Why, she ain't nothing but a whore who wandered somewhere she shouldn't be." Marcus responded.

What the hell is going on? Why did they need me to stay, and I'm not a whore? I could tell he was saying something to get me out of here. The man reached for me and I backed up. I then threw a punch and landed on his jaw, which angered the man, and he retaliated and hit me back.

That angered Marcus, who shoved me out of the way and started to fight him. Within a matter of seconds, we were surrounded by a crowd. Then David appeared. He pulled me up and shoved me in a corner. He then went to break up the fight. Marcus had a bloody lip and bloody knuckles.

" What the hell is going on here?" a man shouted from the crowd.

" This is not the ring," he stated.

" These men attacked Marcus and this girl," David responded.

He pointed at me when he said this girl. I knew what he was doing. They were trying to convince people that I did not know them. Which ws strange. Why were they doing that? I was really in danger and did not know it.

" She seems like she has a fighting spirit," the man stated.

" She doesn't need to be defended," he stated.

The man then pulled David and Marcus aside. I could tell the conversation was not going the way David wanted it to. He was furious. He came back to where I was.

" Kara, you need to listen to me and stay away," he stated.

" Now they want you to fight," he stated.

What the hell? Fight where I was not ready. I just learned the white belt. I had no idea how to really fight. Besides learning things from movies and off the internet.

" I cannot fight here," I stated.

" You are going to have to," David responded.

"Because if you decline the challenge, they will kill us," he stated.

What did he mean they would kill us? What kind of world was this?

" I have managed to get the fight scheduled for a month from now," he stated.

" You will need to be at the doko every day," he stated.

" Marcus, take her to my house and make sure she doesn't leave." David told Marcus.

Great, now I am being forced to fight. I should have listened to Marcus and David. We got into Marcus' car and went to David's house. We were greeted by his housekeeper.

" What happened to the young lady?" Nellie asked.

" She got hit." Marcus responded.

" And you didn't take care of her," she asked.

He blushed and hung his head like he had just got scolded by his mother. She cleaned me up and put ice on my lips. Which felt good. She washed off the blood and applied some ointment.

" I always apply this to David's wounds, and he heals faster," she stated.

The ointment smelled awful. But if it would help heal my lip, then I was all for it.
