Chapter 19 Back from Detention
But when Noah in her arms made babbling sounds, Lilly was pulled back from her anger and excitement. She couldn't have a big fight with Agnes like this.
Agnes originally didn't want to take care of her child. If she has a big argument with Agnes, she won't be willing to help her with the child even more. She still relies on Agnes to help take care of the child so that she can have time to work and earn money.
No matter how harshly Agnes treats her, she is still the child's grandmother. Even though certain bad habits and behaviors may influence the child, she will not be malicious towards her own grandson.
All the anger, grievances, and pain, Lilly can only swallow them down. She is trembling with anger. But she can only digest it herself, and adjust her own state. Lilly stood outside the door for several minutes before entering.
When Agnes sees her, she glares at her angrily and says, "You're back just in time for dinner, why didn't you come back earlier to cook? I didn't cook your meal so you can just make some noodles for yourself."
Lilly, who is hurt in her heart, calmly responds, "It's okay, I'll just make some noodles."
If she doesn't want to eat, then she won't.
"Sophia told her husband that Connor will be released tonight."
After stating this, she asks, "Can you help me with Noah at home tomorrow? You said that as long as Connor is released, you will take good care of my child."
"Don't deceive me, that bitch was absolutely unwilling to help earlier, why would she be willing now?" Agnes's dark face is full of suspicion.
Lilly states, "It's true, Connor will be back soon. I hope you can help me take care of the child tomorrow."
Maria Walker tries to mediate, "Lilly, don't blame Mom for being heartless and not taking care of your child. Mom's back is already not great, and if we didn't use this method to force you, how would your good friend be willing to help release Connor? Originally, this was an easy thing, but you all insisted on making Connor suffer and stay in that detention center."
Lilly doesn't want to argue with them. Arguing is too exhausting. While taking care of the child and working at the same time, she's already exhausted.
She speaks in a weary voice, "I understand. Did Mia go to her dance class?"
"She went. Mom isn't really heartless and not taking care of your child. Look, it's raining and Mom still helped pick up Mia and took her to her dance class."
"Thank you. I'm going to make a bowl of noodles to eat, and then I'll go pick up Mia."
In the kitWalker, Lilly feels that she can't just settle for making a bowl of noodles.
Just because Agnes's ribs aren't meant for her, doesn't mean she can't eat.
She takes a bowl and chopsticks and walks out, saying, "Mom, I won't make noodles after all. My breast milk production has been low recently, and noodles are not nutritious enough.”
"Do you want some of these the ribs?" Agnes thought since her son was going to be released anyway, she shouldn't be too strict with Lilly. "Go ahead and eat," she said.
Lilly filled a bowl full of stewed ribs and didn't leave any for Agnes.
Looking at the almost empty pot of soup, Agnes frowned and said, "Can you eat so much by yourself?"
"I can," Lilly intentionally asked, "Mom, it's not that I wanted to eat these ribs, it's mainly because your grandson doesn't have milk to drink. Mom, you've breastfed before, women who breastfeed get hungry quickly and need nourishment. I don't think these ribs are enough. Why don't you and big sister go downstairs to eat?"
Agnes frowned, "Do you really not have milk?"
Lilly nodded as she nibbled on the ribs, "It's not enough. I need to replenish for the sake of your grandson."
Agnes wasn't pleased with her. But her grandson, she cherished him like a treasure. Besides, the ribs were originally stewed for her own consumption and not much was prepared.
For the sake of her grandson, Agnes didn't say anything else and said, "Then eat more ribs, I'll go cook noodles."
Watching Agnes turn to cook noodles, Lilly's anger subsided a bit.
In the past, she was too kind and filial, which was why she respected Agnes so much, going along with her and accommodating her in everything.
But in the future, she wouldn't do that anymore. Her tolerance had its limits. All kindness should have its edges and sharpness. Otherwise, she would only be constantly bullied and oppressed. Connor was released from the police station at seven o'clock in the evening. When he was released, the police at the detention center gave him a lecture, asking him not to get involved in fights anymore and to be a good person.
After being detained for a few days, Connor had lost a lot of his edges and had a very remorseful attitude.
After returning home, Agnes naturally couldn't stop smiling when she saw her son come back.
After Connor took a shower, he pulled Lilly, who was lightly tapping on Noah's shoulder, from behind and took off his pants, wanting to do the intimate things between husband and wife with Lilly.
Actually, Connor didn't want to touch Lilly. It's not that Lilly was unattractive or had a bad figure. After giving birth to two children, her skin had indeed become a little loose, she had some blemishes on her face, and there was some excess skin on her belly, but it wasn't very noticeable.
She still had good looks.
If she dressed up a bit, she would still be beautiful.
The reason why Connor didn't want to touch Lilly before was because she didn't take care of her appearance at all, with messy hair and sometimes not even washing her face. She had been a full-time housewife for a long time, only talking about household matters and the two children every day. He was annoyed.
But after being in detention for several days, he wanted to release some tension.
It had also been a long time since he had been with a woman, so his male instincts were a bit too strong for him.
Lilly, however, felt disgusted. In fact, she hadn't realized it herself, but they hadn't had a marital life for half a year. She was busy like a spinning top every day with the tedious household chores, and she didn't even have the energy to think about intimacy. The matter of married life.
Originally repulsive, coupled with Connor's unfaithfulness, made her resistant.
She pushed Connor away, "You hurt me."
"Then I'll be gentle." Connor pounced again.
Lilly quickly placed a blanket between them, preventing Connor from touching her. She felt disgusted, utterly disgusted. Connor's touch made her feel so uncomfortable, as if a fly had eaten feces and landed on her. Especially when she thought about Connor's desire to sleep with her best friend, she felt like she had been blind, throwing herself so recklessly into such a scum of a man.
"Lilly, it's been so long since we've had any intimacy, let's do it now."
"I'm tired."
"It's okay, I can finish in ten minutes at most, won't interrupt your sleep."
"I said I don't want to. I just don't want to."
Connor felt frustrated and wanted to force himself on her. He forcefully pulled the blanket in front of Lilly, then flipped over entirely.
He coaxed and kissed Lilly's face, saying, "Lilly, I miss you." The man's words were deceitful ghosts.
If Lilly believed him, she would have lost her mind. She turned away in disgust, using force against Connor's chest.
But this only excited Connor more, as he tried to remove her pants.
Even just touching her clothes made her want to vomit. She held onto her pants, preventing Connor from taking them off, and kicked him forcefully.
"Connor, can't you understand human language? I said I'm tired, I don't want to, can you just go away."
One kick wasn't enough, so she kicked him again.
"Are you crazy?" Connor, pushed away by her kicks, suddenly lost interest.
He stood up, putting on his pants and glaring at Lilly, viciously saying, "Does anyone treat their partner like this?"
Looking at this fierce man, Lilly couldn't relate him to the gentle and considerate person he was years ago. The previous Connor would take care of her when she had menstrual cramps, making her brown sugar water. He would help wash her blood-stained underwear, doing everything according to her wishes.
Lilly didn't know if it was the seven years of married life that changed Connor or if Connor was a scum to begin with.
