49 - Hold your peace

Princess Laura smiled seeing herself in the mirror. Her dress was just as she had dreamed and imagined. It was a very big ball dress that would need the help of right maids. Just like she wanted, the pure white gown was embellished with authentic diamonds and pearls. Her hair was packed in a high bun with flowery pins holding them and a shining silver crown. The princess gave a satisfied smile, flashing her pearly whites.
Mary was by her left side in her red dress. She had settled to making her dress by her own self . It wasn't as elegant like she would have wanted and the feathered design she had added to the end of the dress looked odd and out of place.
Wiping the corner of her eyes, Elaine sniffed and gave Laura a hug. She couldn't believe the princess was getting married. She had watched Laura grow into the fine young wolf that she was and it was hard to think that the little child from years ago was getting married and was fully independent. "You look so beautiful."
Princess Laura sniffed. "I just wished father could see how beautiful I look."
Elaine took her hand and gave it a small squeeze. "At least he can still walk you down the aisle. Don't get sad, Laura."
The princess took a deep breath and sighed. She moved to the window where she could see the garden from her room. Her eyes beamed seeing the decorations already hung up. The chairs were arranged to form a heart and the alter was beautifully decorated with white roses. Petals were littered on the grass and scented candles illuminated the dim atmosphere. The moon was starting to peeking out and the event was to start at midnight.
"I can't believe you're getting married, Laura." Mary announced, perching on the princess' bed.
"Me too." The princess joined her best friend on the bed. "I always thought you'll be the first to get married."
Mary nodded, "me too."
Elaine held up her yellow ball dress as she made her way to the girls. It used to be the queen's. She had found it in the storeroom and with a few adjustments it fitted her perfectly. "Don't be gloomy, Mary. Your prince charming is on his way."
"Well, he's taking forever."
"What if he was attacked by bandits?" Princess Laura joked, her hands on her hair to adjust her crown but Elaine was there to help her.
"Then he ain't for me ." Mary said with an attitude. "I ain't want no man who can't fight of bandits. How he gon' protect me?" This made the princess and Elaine laugh.

Prince Nicholas sighed looking out the window. The event was set to start. The guests had started to arrive and this made the prince bite his lower lip. It felt as though his stomach did a back flip the way it churned. Agitated, he ran his hand into his perfectly gelled hair and this made his hairstylist groan.
The hair stylist who was packing up started to put out his equipments on the dress table again while muttering under his breath. This was the third time.
Prince Nicholas moved to his dressing table. Seeing his reflection on the mirror, he heaved a discombobulated sigh. He looked like he was here for a funeral but it was his wedding.
The hair dresser put a comb into prince Nicholas's hair and tugged on it while combing making the prince growl.
"The ceremony has commenced, your majesty." Gaston arrived into prince Nicholas room. He was confused as to why the hairdresser was working on the prince's hair again after he head seen he was ready to go down."Everyone is waiting."
The hairdresser did his work on the hair doing the same style. The hair was gelled with a side part. After this, prince Nicholas took black bow tie and attached it to his collar. Her was in a black, suede three piece suit and a white shirt underneath the shit.
He made his way to his side of the alter and stood hands in his pocket waiting for his bride. The bush of lavender across the alter reminded him of who he was in love with. He wanted to leave the ceremony and run into her arms but he knew that was it impossible so he direct his head to the front row seat.
Both kinng were seated in the front row. The wolf king whispered something into king Eric's ear and they both grinned. The old lady that was always with Laura, Elaine and the girl Laura had mentioned was her closest friend were also in the front row.
The soft music coming from the band made everyone turn their heads to the back. The princess was standing with a veil over her face. She waited as her Elaine led the king towards where his daughter was standing.
They moved hand on hand when the king joined his daughter walking down the aisle. Elaine was behind them as they took tentative steps towards the alter. When they arrived at the alter, king Francis planted a kiss on his daughter's forehead and said, "I wish I could see how beautiful you look on your special day but my sight still remains in darkness. I'm proud of the woman you're becoming, Laura."
Princess Laura engulf her father into a hug and responded, "thank you, father."
The wolf king and Elaine returned to thier seats and the ceremony began with the oldest wolf in the kingdom leading the ceremony. A short talk was given and the aged wolf announced, "is there anyone here who is against this matrimony? Speak now or forever hold your peace."
Everyone looked around, eyes travelling round to see if there was anyone that was going to stand against the wedding.
Princess Laura directed her eyes to the werewolf sitting behind her father. He had a smirk tugging on his lips as they both maintained eye contact. Her heart pounded, worried he was going to stand against the wedding since he was also interested in her and she had rejected him.
A part of the prince wanted to walk out of the wedding but it was like his legs were glued to the ground.
"In the absence of none, Laura repeat after me includung your partners's name in the necessary places.." The princess didn't know when a sigh of relieve went past her lips quietly
"I, Laura, take you, Nicholas, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honour you all the days of my life." She ended with a smile.
It was Nicholas's turn."I, Nicholas, take you, Laura to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honour you all the days of my life."
The guest clapped with smiles and grins plastered on those faces. The elder announced what the princess had been looking forward to. "You may now kiss the bride."
With a grin still plastered on her face, she wrapped her hand round Nicholas's neck and placed a kiss on his lips. At first, he didn't kiss back but soon after he let her gain access into his mouth and letting her stick her tongue into his mouth. Then he pushed her off him.
The old werewolf took hands and tied a piece of long shining rope around their wrists tying them together. The wolf took their hands up and announced, "they have been tied together!" The guest screamed for joy, hearing the news.
"The newly Weds can share their vows." The elder pointed at Laura to start.
"I will like to start with a poem I wrote." The princess announced.
"The sea in my heart hit its massive body against the waves of your love
Trying to resist the pull to you.
As much as I tried holding back from falling for you
I failed to make any impression worthy of a playboy
All I ever achieved
Was to be buried deeply in thoughts of you.
I am glad I lost out in the game
To surrender all to you.
Making you my husband.
Was, and is still is the best decision
I have made for myself and posterity."
The princess wiped the corners of her eyes as she started to tear up before she started with her vow. "Love is a word that is much too soft and used far too often to ever describe the fierce, infinite and blazing passion that I have in my heart for you. I want so badly to be able to explain all the love I have for you. Not the love of butterflies and stomach knots—but more the blurring of self and the entanglement with another soul. Love is a word that is much too soft and used far too often to ever describe the fierce, infinite and blazing passion that I have in my heart for you. You are a million dreams and a million prayers of a little girl come true. You are kind. You are silly. You are intelligent. Your laugh is contagious and you can put away an entire cake in one sitting like nobody else can. You acknowledge my strengths and accept my faults. You make me want to be a better person every day. I take you as you are now, tomorrow and for eternity to come, to be my husband. Even when the day comes that we're old and gray, I promise to always see you with the same eyes and the same heart that I see you with at this exact moment. So today, I vow to honor you and respect you, support you and encourage you. I promise to dream with you, celebrate with you, and walk beside you through whatever life brings. I vow to laugh with you and comfort you during times of joy and times of sorrow. I promise to always pursue you, to fight for you, and love you unconditionally and wholeheartedly for the rest of my life. You are my best friend and I'm the luckiest person in the supernatural realm to call you mine." Princess Laura ened with a grin.
While she had said her vows, everyone cooed and the wolf king had cried tears of joy to hear his daughter speak of how much she was in love. They all have a round of applause when princess Laura was done speaking.
Prince Nicholas was stunned to hear those words. He didn't feel the same about her so he had gotten Gaston to get someone who wrote poems to write his vows but he had over did it but the prince read aloud anyway, " "I admire you. Simply because of your kind soul, tender heart, and positive mindset. I especially appreciate your endearing sense of humor. I am ever so grateful for your love and selflessness. In return, I offer these promises. I promise you my everlasting devotion, my loyalty and my respect. I promise to love you unconditionally and to grow with you in mind, body and spirit. I promise to pray with you, to dream with you, to build a family with you and to encourage you. I promise to share in your joys and sorrows and all that the goddess has to offer us. You are my forever, my best friend, my dream come true and now my wife. With these words, and all the words of my heart, I marry you and bind my life to yours. Forever and always. I love you."
A tear rolled down the princess cheek. Her heart beated for joy hearing him say such sweet words. Just like they had done when the princess had read her vows, they all cooed hearing prince Nicholas's vow.
Princess Laura moved closer to the prince and jammed her lips on her new husband, reluctantly he kissed back.

Sipping his wine, he watched as prince Nicholas and princess Laura had thier first dance. He had a smile plastered on his face but his insides were ranging with anger. He hated the smile grij plastered on the princess faceband was tempted to wipe it off with a slap but he held himself back.
His plans were crumbling all because of prince Nicholas and the vampire kingdom. Also, their marriage too. If the king hadn't signed the treaty maybe his plans would have settled well and he would have been on his way to the throne.
He had wanted to rise up when they elder had announced for anyone against the marriage to speak out but he had more things up his sleeve.
