Chapter 72

Tyson was the first to rush to Adena, he placed her head on his laps and gasped at her bleeding arm. Thankfully, Logan did not shoot her on the chest.

"Don't worry, you're going to be fine" he said, and she nodded, in a lot of pain. Logan just stood there in awe, regretting what he did. He wasn't able to move, he hated himself for hurting her, the one person whom he found solace in.

"Look what you did, all because of your useless feud" Damon whispered to him, increasing the guilt he was already feeling.

"I've called the ambulance. Don't worry Adena, you'll be fine" Damon said, walking over to Tyson's side. Tyson glared at him.

"Don't pretend like you care. You and your boss are in this together.. so get away from us!" Tyson growled at him and Damon sighed.

The ambulance came soon and Adena was rushed to the hospital, again! She was admitted and the doctors began surgery to get out the bullet and save her life.

Everyone was at the hospital, and they all were worried about her.. even Delaney came, but not because she was worried about Adena, but because she wanted to hear the news of her death.

It seemed like Adena had carved a room for herself in everybody's hearts! Whether of love or of hatred, they all had feelings for her.. a slave.

"Doctor!" Tyson called out and everybody turned in the direction of the middle aged man.

"Is she okay?" Tyson questioned.

"How's my friend!?" Antoinette cried.

"We managed to get the bullet out, but she's still unconscious and needs some time to rest. Don't worry though, she's fine and we're keeping an eye on her" the doctor explained in a soft tone, in an attempt to calm everyone down.

Delaney wasn't pleased with the news! She was enraged if anything.. her precious wedding to Logan is being delayed because of this slave. She rolled her eyes and sat in the corner, watching the drama unfold.

"So can I see her now?" Tyson requested.

"I'm afraid not. Just give her some time, the nurses are still attending to her" the doctor replied, giving them a reassuring smile.

"I'll get back to you" he said and walked to his office.

"This is all your fault Logan! You shot her! If anything happens to Adena, I will kill you without mercy" Tyson roared at Logan who was shocked by his outburst. He was jealous that another man was interested in Adena.

"Shut the f*ck up! I'm not through with you, you know that right?" Logan fired at him, flaring up.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Damon came in between them and gave them hard glares.

"Haven't you fought enough? What are you even fighting for? Property? Power? Is that it? Your fight has landed Adena in the hospital and it makes me wonder who is next!" Damon continued, visibly angry.

It was the first time he was yelling at Logan and Logan was actually quiet.

"You are brothers! You must not follow in your father's footsteps. So what if they fought? Who is to say that you both can't live in harmony and make your money together?" Damon questioned, his eyes moving from Logan to Tyson. The two men looked at each other and scoffed.

"He's not my brother! His father stole.." Tyson was interrupted by Camilla, who walked into the lobby to meet them all.

".. and so? His father did what? Stripped our father of his rights? Why can't we write our own future? Must we continue fighting because our fathers fought?" She asked, going to stand next to Damon who smiled at her.

Liliana, Antoinette and Delaney watched in shock as the drama continued to unfold.

"Literally everyone is sick and tired of your fight! Just end this! Or it'll end each and every one of us" Camilla groaned.

"Camilla you're out of your mind! How dare you take sides with them?" Tyson asked.

"I'm not taking anybody's side! I just want peace" she huffed tiredly.

"I won't make peace with this fool" Logan shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Neither will I" Tyson glared at him.

Logan was angry and jealous, that Tyson had feelings for Adena, how exactly is going to get along with someone who was feelings for a woman he has become so possessive of?

And Tyson, he found it hard to forget how his father struggled to make a living after his rights were denied him.

"Well.." Damon grabbed Camilla by the waist and pulled her closer to himself. Logan's eyes widened at that.

"We made a plan to get you two to stop fighting, it was working until Logan decided to shoot Adena" Damon glared at Logan who bit his lip in guilt.

"So since our plan didn't work and obviously you two are against us being together.. Camilla and I are running away to get married" Damon broke the news.

Delaney was shocked.. Anastasia has been making plans to approach Damon and make him hers again, this is going to break her!

"You will do no such thing!" Surprisingly, Logan and Tyson said that at the same time. They looked at each other and sighed.

Damon was important to Logan, extremely important. He couldn't stand him leaving. Equally, Camilla was all Tyson had, he couldn't stand her leaving him forever.

"We are ready to run away, if you both continue to be stubborn by not making peace" Camilla frowned.

"You want us to make peace huh?" Tyson asked.

"Yes! We want to be together, how can we when the people we love are at war?" She asked.

"I'll think about it" Tyson agreed, glaring hard at Logan.

"I don't know.. maybe I'll think about it" Logan said reluctantly and Camilla squealed happily. She threw her arms open and hugged her brother, then ran over to Logan.

"Cous!" She called.

"I said maybe" he rolled his eyes.

He had always loved Camilla as his cousin, even when he kidnapped her, he had no plans of hurting her, he only wanted to lure Tyson who he hated.

"Thank you so much!" She squealed and hugged him while Damon smiled at the turn out of events.

He honestly didn't expect it to be this easy since their original plan failed. Sure that the two are not totally in good terms, but they've agreed to stop hunting for each other's lives.

"I'm so proud of you Logan.. thank you" Liliana finally said something. Logan nodded at her, avoiding a smile. He was still very much angry at Tyson, for liking Adena. He was jealous but didn't want to admit it.

Antoinette was sitting quietly, all she was worried about was her best friend Adena. She just wanted to hear the good news that she was awake. Delaney on the other hand, left for the mansion. She wanted to break the news of Damon's intention to marry Camilla to Anastasia.

Two hours have passed and Adena is still unconscious. Liliana had gone home to make some food for everybody, while Antoinette insisted on staying at the hospital.

Tyson was also there and Logan has refused to leave because he didn't want Adena to be alone with him. Damon noticed and wondered if the love triangle will be a problem in the future.

"Look at that Camilla" he started. They were sitting in the hospital's lobby.

"What?"

"They obviously are in love with Adena. I'm worried it'll be a problem in the future" he stated.

"Hmm. I really hope not! I didn't even think about that when I made my plan" she said spitefully.

"I hope it doesn't turn out bad, I really hope" Damon sighed.

Liliana walked into the lobby, carrying three different bags filled with food flasks. Antoinette rushed to help her with the bags.

"Take this to Logan and Tyson" Liliana said, purposely giving them one flask to eat from, just to tease them. Antoinette obeyed and the two men glared and seethed at each other before eating the food together.

Damon and Camilla had their dinner too and Antoinette only ate a little because she was extremely worried about her friend.

After eating, they still had to wait an extra hour before the doctor came out again. They all bombarded him with questions and the doctor had to calm them down before answering.

"She's awake now, but you can't see her" he said and they looked confused.

"Why not?" Tyson asked.

"Yeah, I wanna see her" Antoinette added.

"Before you all go in, I need to speak with you" the doctor's eyes darted towards Liliana.

"Me?" She asked, looking around.

"Yes, the patient insisted that I speak to you first" the doctor answered. They were all confused but Liliana followed him anyways.

"So what's the problem then?" Liliana asked when the were at a reasonable distance.

"The patient is insisting that I break this news to you first, she'd like to see you first" the doctor stated, making Liliana worried.

"Just tell me what the matter is doc!" She became impatient.

"Um.." the doctor but his lip.

Adena was far too young..

"She's pregnant"

"What!?"



"Adena" Liliana called, sitting by the bed with tears in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry.. it was my fault, I didn't take care of you the way I was supposed to. I didn't give you the right medication.. you wouldn't have fallen pregnant" Liliana complained, pained that such a young girl would soon become a mother.

"Ma please stop" Adena sighed, clutching the old woman's hand to her stomach.

Adena winced a little, adjusting her bandaged arm to a more comfortable position.

"Don't blame yourself for anything. It was Logan that put me in a family way" Adena sniffed back her tears.

"Besides, it's over a month now" she added, Liliana's eyes widened in shock at the statement.

"Wait, you knew about it before now?" She asked.

"Yes, the day I was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on Logan's bed. I told the doctor not to tell anyone about it. I was scared and sad. I decided to keep it to myself until I decided whether to get rid of it or not" Adena explained as tears raced down her cheeks.

She had been battling so many emotions in secret, suffering in silence all these weeks and she was tired. She burst out crying, while Liliana tried to comfort her, she also couldn't control her tears.

"You don't want to tell Logan?" Liliana asked.

"Tell him? A man that doesn't accept me as nothing other than a slave, what makes you think he'll accept my child? I can't bear to bring a child into this world and deprive him or her of his father's love"

"And me? I'll be 19 soon, I am too young. I don't want a baby.. I want to get rid of it, I can't raise a child for a man who tortured me" she sniffed and wiped her cheeks with the back of her palm.

"Oh God!" Liliana was deeply pained by her words. She didn't even know what advice to give to this little girl. She didn't know how to encourage her.

"I'm going to abort it.. now" Adena said and Liliana gasped.

"Adena please.. don't do that, just tell him first and see what he has to say"

"Tell him what? Logan is my master, I'm never going to be more than a slave to him. He'll never accept my child" Adena answered, staring into space.

"My child please.. please just have a rethink. What if something happens to you during the process? What if you lose your life? What if your womb gets damaged?" Liliana tried to change her mind by listing all the dangers involved but Adena wasn't moved.

"Death is much better than everything I've gone through in Logan's hands. I can't bring a child into this world to get rejected like I did and continue suffering. I can't" she sobbed.

Liliana hugged her to her chest and caressed her hair.

Liliana knew it would be wrong on her path to let Adena get rid of an innocent child just like that.. even though this child's experience would spark a lot of problems.
