Chapter 158

Deacon POV:
Did they expect me to play fair after they had stripped me of all of my respect? They took my money and let my enemies come at me for all the leftover bits. Now they expected me to roll over and let them win? Let them live in peace?

And what was I supposed to care for the canon fodder that came into my army?

This wasn’t a fairytale; they had to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Of course, I blew the gate and took out as many of them as I could. If they thought that was the worst thing to happen today they were wrong. I was unleashed and coming for everything g they hold dear. That little boy would be mine I’d kill whoever had him and take him and turn him into the most iron-focused man that could destroy this place in the blink of an eye.

Of course, my son felt he had to step in. We wrestled and battled trading blows and trying to finish the other off. I was more determined to get away. I wanted him to feel like everything had been stripped from him, I wanted to watch him waste away and lament over the mistake of disobeying me. If he’d had any brains at all he would have thrown himself at my mercy and begged for my help, he would’ve apologized for being so foolish and the power we could have had would’ve been earth-shattering but now he wants to play the noble prince.

*Well, time to face the reality of the world.

His little bride let out a scream giving me the diversion I needed. It would have gone a lot smoother if my son hadn’t clobbered me, bombarding me with punches like an angry child.

I ran off after she distracted him, Marcus taking up their attention. What a good little boy he was, stupid, and now dead, but useful.

I found a large house no doubt theirs and looked around to see if there was any security.

*They’re begging for it if they leave their son so undefended.

“You won’t even see him,” that agitating ragged voice came from behind me.

I rolled my eyes and turned towards my ex-wife. The start of all of my problems, the one who turned my son against me, the one who gave my son the resources to strip me of my wealth and influence. She was the most self-righteous, insipid fool who ever lived.

“If you want to live, leave now. I have no reason to treat you with any mercy,” I growled.

*Couldn’t they all see less pain would befall them if they did the smart thing and got out of my way?

“I won’t require mercy today. You have defiled the place I call home for the last time, and hurt my children for the last time. You should have stayed in your spider hole,” she extended her claws and her eyes darkened into the unmistakable shade of Faye.

Her wolf was in control and I had no wolf to help me. She had discarded the honor of fighting fairly it appears I’ve truly pissed her off.

I grabbed the knives from my back pocket and got ready to finish Amaria off once and for all.

I lunged and she spun out of my way, I turned to slice her and again she moved expertly out of my path. She dug her claws into my back below my shoulders and it stung, and I flinched, jerking myself away.

I jumped away and held the knives up but I couldn’t see her.

“You know all that time and money training, hiring all of those instructors, and it’s still a good thing our son learned to fight from me,” she called to me from wherever she was and I turned left and right trying to find her.

She jumped from what I assume was the roof of the house onto me tackling me and dragging her claws into my back again. I used the one bonus I had and shifted my larger body weight to roll onto her.

Nimbly she jumped off of me and slammed a kick to my ribs. I suddenly realized I was in over my head as the wind left my lungs. I scrambled to my feet and ran off into the woods. This large-scale attack was too obvious. I had let my anger cloud my judgment. I'll have to leave and come back once I’ve gathered myself.

I hurried off, thankful that Amaria would never leave her precious family undefended; she would let me go she always does. That little part of her that can’t bring herself to kill the father of her precious baby boy.

“Always the fool!” She growled, staring at me directly in my path. “Fools attract one another,”

She tossed an object at me, taking a second to figure out what it was until I saw the familiar face. Jackson seems to have met his fate.

“He gave me all I needed to help Grayson take you down. I enjoyed that little press conference you gave, trying to save face by claiming innocence,” she was gleeful in her spite.

I grew hot with rage and chucked a knife at her and she dodged it gracefully, the blade lodging in the tree behind her.

“All this because I left you?” I sniggered at her sneering as I spat. “Hell hath no fury,”

If I could get her riled up she might lose her focus and I could injure her enough to escape. She was too strong to kill right now Faye was controlling her body so she wouldn’t go down with any common attacks.

She grabbed the knife and chucked it back at me, jamming it into my shoulder. I groaned and grabbed it out so I had some defense.

“You think this is about me?” She hissed from her perch dashing off before I could figure out where she’d gone.

“You think I care what you’ve done to me,” she appeared behind me, slashing into my back deeper than before, I dropped one of the knives in shock from the pain.

I started running trying to get away from her. She was going to kill me if I gave her the chance.

“You have abused my son!” She kicked me in the back, tripping me. I crawled forward and tried to cut her wrist when she grabbed me by my hair.

She twisted the knife out of my hand and threw it to the floor. “You assisted in the kidnapping of my daughter!”

She slammed her fist into my face. “You think I care about what you’ve done to me? You’re here for my grandson!” She whispered in my ear.

“I care nothing for the pain I have suffered,” I grabbed at her desperately trying to stop her, flailing like a mad man.

“You have tried so desperately to escape this pack and the life you should have cherished Deacon,” I felt my fate solidify as she smiled at me. “And now you’ll die here,”

I would’ve started to beg I would have tried to make a deal but she sliced my throat with her claws and I couldn’t make a sound, besides the gurgling of blood in my throat.

She walked off leaving me there, Grayson came running up to her and she led him back towards his home.

*This is how it ends?

*I can’t die

*I can’t

*I…..
