CHAPTER SEVENTY
GABRIELLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That evening, we lay down together, and Lucian switched off the light, enclosing us in the darkness. I was lying on my sides when he pulled me closer to him so my head is pillowed on his chest.
He appeared to be in deep thoughts and this was one of those times when I would give anything to read through his mind. Draping a hand across his ribcage, I closed my eyes, even though I was not feeling sleepy.
"There's something about me that you need to know, I probably should have told you sooner..." His voice was barely audible, his warm breath tickling the side of my cheek made my eyes flutter open. I lifted my chin to meet his stare. His tone and stare held every bit of seriousness and my heart was suddenly hammering in my chest, my mind thinking of all the possibilities that could make him be this serious.
"My mother was the daughter of one of the men in my father's organization, they had an arranged marriage."
I stayed silent, this was the first time that Lucian was speaking about his parents, even though I was still wondering where this was headed, a huge part of me was elated that he telling me something about his past.
"A few months after their marriage, my father found out that she was diagnosed with paranoia, but then she was already pregnant with me."
"I'm so sorry." I whispered, finally understanding where this story was heading, he was opening up to me about his sensitive issue and I wasn't the one who had asked him to.
"You don't have to be sorry, you had nothing to do with it." He murmured, stroking my hair. I was about to tell him that it wasn't his fault either but he started to speak again.
"When she finally gave birth to me, she started on her medications, therapy, she tried hard to get cured, my father said she wanted to be a normal parent to her son which made me think that perhaps she might have loved and wanted me at one point. Numerous therapy didn't work for her, but she didn't grow worse until she was told that there was a possibility of her child suffering the same illness as she did. She couldn't bear it, she started to abuse drugs which left her even more depressed, and in the end, she hated herself, and then she hated me too."
I swallowed hard, my heart hurting for the boy that had to go through all of that, it was just too unfortunate.
"At first, I never understood why, one moment she was a loving parent, and the next she would change into a whole different personality. My father had to lock her up at some point, and then one day..." His voice was steady even though I could sense the pain deep within, how could one heal and move on from something so horrible?
"I found her. Seconds before she died she made sure to tell me that monsters like us deserved to end that way." His voice was emotionless, I was suddenly horrified and couldn't breathe as I thought if he believed those words. How could any mother be so cruel to their child!?
My eyelids squeezed together as I fought against the sharp sting that turned my vision blurry. He had been too young to go through all of that.
Even if he was a normal child, the trauma of seeing a close one in that state was already enough to make anyone crazy.
"She was lying! You're are no monster Lucian, the only thing you deserve is a good dose of happiness." I squeezed his shoulder lightly and saw the ghost of a smile tug on his lips.
"You don't think I'm crazy and dangerous and want to get as far away as possible?"
I pretended to think about it for some seconds.
"The last time I spoke of that, didn't someone tell me, you are not leaving? I don't allow it? I need you with me?" I did my best to mimic his facial expressions as I last recalled and in the end we both burst out laughing.
When we both stopped, I met his gaze and spoke seriously.
"I would never think you're crazy, besides Devin told me you haven't gotten these attacks until I stepped into your life, which I feel guilty about now."
"What has Devin got to do with this?" Confusion flickered in his eyes before he suddenly sprang to a sitting position.
"That bastard told you that!! When
this?" He was yelling and I started my best to calm him down. "Relax, he didn't mean it as..."
"Remind me to kill him the next time I set my eyes on him!"
"Fine, I will." I rolled my eyes and shrugged in resignation.
"What else did he say to you?"
"Nothing." I spoke even though his suspicious glance told me that he didn't believe me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roaming hands awoke me from my slumber, the covers were pulled off and rummaging fingers were making their way up my thighs. Warm breath tickled my inner thighs and my eyes fluttered open just in time to see unbridled lust flash in his eyes before his tongue parted my folds.
"Lucian." I moaned when he gave my mound another long lick. All traces of sleep vanished out of my eyes and my body was heated up to the waves of pleasures. My breath stilled in my throat as he slid a finger inside of me, groping his hair and rocking myself against him when his teeth pressed down on my clit.
The whole world could cease to exist, all I could focus on was the way he tasted me, the greedy slurry noises he made, and the wag his finger possessed my insides, sliding in and out rhythmically until I was spiraling out of control.
It was too much.
Almost unbearable.
"Oh god, oh god" Another suck on my clit had me shrieking out his name, it seemed to excite him as his movements got quicker and faster, and then it happened. He sucked my clit hard, ripping floods of pleasure through me, moans poured from my mouth as all my nerves came alive as I continued to clench around his finger. His slick tongue lapped at my juices as he murmured praises of how good I was. All too soon, it came to an end, and sadly I was returned to earth.
After our bout of lovemaking, we showered together and now we just finished having breakfast and Lucian was about to leave for the study, saying that he had some paper works that needed to be completed. I wasn't able to hide my disappointed frown, what was I supposed to do when he was gone?
Okay, I remembered promising Loretta about going shopping with her, but that was for later and I was talking about now. As if he sensed my stare, he turned his head towards me.
"Remember what the doctor spoke about having rest, when I return from the study, I better find you sleeping." His lips brushed across mine softly before slowly pulling away.
"What if I don't? You are not here to watch me after all. Maybe I can come to the office with you, I promise I'll be quiet and..." He shook his head in rejection before I could even finish.
"I'll be too distracted to get any work done, you best stay here as I told you."
I glared at him feeling dejected, I was feeling quite energetic, the last thing I felt I needed was a nap. He chuckled at my expression and straightened to full height. "Just be good, wife, get enough rest for the baby's sake."
"Get enough rest for the baby's sake." I mimicked as he walked out the door. I buried my face into the pillows when I held my cellphone ringing. My eyes brightened in pleasant surprise when I saw that it was mom, it was quite a long time since we have last spoken to each other, I was yet to tell her the news of my pregnancy.
"Hello, mom!" I greeted happily.
"Brie!" She was sobbing and the smile instantly vanished from my face.
"Mom, what's wrong!"
"It's your father and sister, they are both missing since yesterday, I'm scared that something might have happened to them!"

I deeply apologize for the late update, I made the chapter longer, am I forgiven?
