CHAPTER TEN

Tamara
“Calm down Tommy, no need to yell, it’s not a big deal “I said trying to reduce the tension in the room, “you’ve got to be kidding me did you just say it’s not a big deal, not a big deal, they are selling you like livestock, so why are you so fucking calm Tamara,” Tommy said, I knew he was pissed but he was trying to control his emotions because he only calls me Tamara when he is angry at me,

“you infuriate me sometimes” He clenched his jaw and bit back words that would hurt me if he continued talking.

“please calm down Tommy, I can handle it”.

“you don’t have to do everything they tell you too, you of all people need to get married for love, you deserve every good thing the world as to offer, after everything they have put you through and now they want to take this away from you too, why Tamara, why are you doing this, you don’t owe them anything just say no and if they kick you out you can come and stay with me, please don’t do this'' Tommy said the anger in is voice was gone, I could only sense sadness.

Tommy wrapped his arms around me giving me a hug, “please don’t do this, he doesn’t deserve you” he whispered under his breath, I ran my hand down his back in a gentle motion to calm him down. After a few minutes I pulled away, turning to face Tatiana who just stared at me.

I couldn’t read her emotions, her eyes showed nothing. It was like a blank canvas, “Tatiana say something, I need you to tell me what you think” I asked softly, my gaze never leaving her.

“what do you expect me to say dear, that I support you, that I will be happy if you get married to a man you don’t love because I won’t, I can’t understand why you want to throw your life away because of those people, they never loved you, not once so why are you doing this for them”.

“i have a good reason guys, if I don’t do this, Mr Kingston will take mother’s company and I won’t let that happen, I won’t allow him take what my mother worked her as off to build, I know you guys still won’t accept my decision but I want you to support me, you are the only people I can call family and if you don’t support me, I will have on one” I said trying to hold back the tears I have kept pent up inside since I heard the news, I need to have them on my side, they have to be on my side because I don’t know what I would do if they don’t support me.

Tommy sighed a little before walking up to me wrapping his hands around me again, “you know I don’t like to see you cry Pumpkin, please don’t cry, I will be on your side even if I know you will regret this marriage”.

“Tatiana” I whispered softly

“You know I will always be on your side, I promised my friend your mother that I would take care of you till the day I die and I won’t break that promise dear” Tatiana whispered under her breath but it was loud enough for Tommy and I to hear.

“Thank you guys, I love you so much”

“We love you too Pumpkin” Tommy whispered softly

“It almost 2, I have to meet up with him at a restaurant called Oceanside, do you know where that is Tommy”

“It's a few blocks away, do you need me to take you and come back to pick you up right after” Tommy asked.

“that would be awesome Tommy if not to much of a bother, I hope I don’t kill him before lunch ends, because that man is infuriating”

“you could never be a bother, if he tries anything I’m just a call away”

“I know, my personal superhero” I said making the three of us burst into a fit of laughter, “take care of yourself love and don’t give him any chance to think you are weak, you are a strong woman who won’t be pushed around by him,” Tatiana said taking my hand in hers before placing a kiss on the back if my hand.

“See you guys later, the sooner I leave the faster I can get this lunch over with, so I can come back and play with the kids a little before going back to my prison”. I said with a sigh picking up my purse as Tommy guided me out of the foundation, saying my last goodbye to the kids as we walked out of the foundation going towards his car.

“Thank you Tommy, for doing this and accepting my decision, you are a really good guy and friend” I said giving him a small smile, he opened the door for me to get in before going to the other side to get into the car.

“I know and that’s why you love me, I still can’t understand or won’t but like I said I will support you till the end” with that said he drove out of the foundation and towards the restaurant.

A few minutes later we were at the restaurant, we got out of the car when he packed by the side of the road, “do you need me to wait till the asshole comes”

“Na Tatiana will need you back at the foundation, I can wait by myself, go on, see you later Tommy”.

“are you sure, I can wait Tatiana will understand”

“I know but I don’t want you too, seriously I can handle this, go take care of the kids”

“if you are sure, bye pumpkin”

“Bye Tommy” with that said he got into his car and drove off but he still waited for me to walk into the restaurant before he drove off.

Present time......

I walked out of the restaurant picking up my phone to call Tommy, “hey Tommy, can you come pick me up, this lunch was a total disaster, we had an issue and he was a total asshole” I said trying to control anger, he just stood there while I did everything, what an inconsiderate ass.

“I will be right over, give me a few minutes, we just put the kids down for their afternoon nap” Tommy said, “okay I will be waiting, thank you”.

“My driver will be here soon, would you like me to drop you at your destination” a very irritating but familiar voice said from behind me, I turned to see Mr Kingston standing behind me with his sunglasses on,

“No thanks, I’m good, you can leave,” I said in a stern tone hoping he would get the message that I didn’t Want him to be here when Tommy arrived because Tommy would surely get into an argument with him.

“I can’t leave my fiancée on the side of the road, it would affect my reputation” Mr Kingston said in a matter of fact tone.

“Good because I really don’t care about your reputation.” I said as I moved from him to the road so I could leave when I saw Tommy’s car coming from a distance.

“Why are you against me taking you home, or do you have other plans that I don’t know about?” he asked, giving me a questioning look.

“Even if I did, it’s none of your business Mr Kingston, I thought you said you had something to do, you really don’t have to stay on my account”.

But before he could respond, I saw Tommy’s car coming from a distance, “If I say it was a pleasure meeting you, I would be lying so goodbye Mr Kingston, till we meet again, hopefully not soon”.

I said as I turned to walk towards Tommy’s car, I wished he didn’t come out of the car but not all wishes come through.

Tommy came out of the car and his smile turned to a scowl immediately, “Tamara tell me he is not the Mr Kingston you were talking about” Tommy asked but I have never seen him this angry before, he looked ready to kill the man standing behind me.

“Tommy What’s wrong, how do you know him?” I asked, obviously confused, how does Tommy know this man? “Remember when I told you I got into some trouble back when I was In High School, and had to go to juvie for sometime” Tommy said moving his gaze from Damien.
“yes I do but what does that have to do with him”
“He was the reason why I went to juvie in the first place”
“what”
“We meet again Thomas Marshall,” Damien said with a smile on his face.
“still blaming me for the accident you caused”.

“You were the one behind the wheel, you fucking bastard and you made me take the blame for everything, I always wondered what I would do if I ever saw you again” Tommy said as he clenched his fist by his side.

“that’s not what it said in the police report, you stole the car and crashed it because you were angry at me, you were angry Selina chose me and not you”.

“for fuck sakes, you are still going with that story the two of you cooked up, you were as high as a kite night and crashed your car but because your father was some big shot, the poor friend got thrown under the bus and you watched it happen, you are nothing but a coward Damien Kingston, a fucking coward”. Tommy yelled.
