CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

TAMARA

I watched the two gaze at each other and it was getting quite awkward so I decided to break the silence between us because people were starting to stare.
"Hello I'm Tamara Sanders, Damien's fiancée and you are?" I asked drawing her gaze from Damien to me.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Emilia Jonathan an old friend of Damien"
"It's always a pleasure to meet a friend of Damien but you look quite familiar have we met before"
" i don't think so but I work in the entertainment business so you might have seen me on TV" she answered her gaze moving from me and back to Damien, then I remembered where I had seen her before, she is Emilia Jonathan, one of the most sort after super model in Newyork.
"Now I remember, you're Emilia Jonathan the supermodel"
"You're a fan,"
"Oh no, I love the designs the Artist in your company produces, he his really talented and one of my idols"
"You're a fashion designer?" She questioned her brow raised
"Upcoming"
"Tamara enough of the questions" Damien said in a hushed whispered, he looked angry, what the fuck did I do, i was being friendly, "Emilia what are you doing here, I thought you were in Italy"
"Yes but I came back to Newyork for a few days off so I decided to visit but it seems like I came at the wrong time, I didn't know you were getting married or had a fiancée" she said a sad look crossing her face judging from her reaction to each other my suspicious where right they were more than just friends.
"We wanted to keep it a secret, it good to have you back Emilia"
"Can we talk? We have so much to catch up on" She asked I could sense hope I'm her voice
"Sorry Emilia, I'm kind of busy with my engagement party, i will catch up with you later"
"Oh, i apologise, sure we will catch up later, i can see you're busy" she said and it took all my self control not laugh, they were being g quite obvious.
"No worries if you would please excuse me I would like to make an announcement" Damien said as he pulled me away from her taking us to the top of the living room
"May I please have you attention" Damien announced as everyone turned to face him,"most of you already know why you are here today but there is no harm in announcing our engagement again" Damien said causing everyone in the room to laugh. "As you all know the tabloids portrayed me has the bachelor and playboy of the century but it was all an act until I fell in love with this beautiful woman beside me, when I'm with her everything else didn't matter, we were just Damien and Tamara" Damien said his soft gaze on me, "At first she denied my proposal but after a lot of grovelling she finally accepted to be mine and that made me the happiest man on earth" Damien said grinning from ear to ear, if I didn't know the truth I too would believe his lies
"Awwn I love you Damien and I would say yes again"
"I love you too Tamara, thank you for saying yes" Damien said placing a quick kiss on my lips taking me by surprise, then the whole room filled with applause as everyone began to walk up to us to offer their congratulations once again.
After the announcement we had dinner and Damien dissappear after so I went looking for him since we could not talk during dinner, how could he kiss me without warning, he had no right, a simple kiss on the cheek would have been okay.
After a while of walking in circles I think I was lost because I ended up in the garden, when I was about to turn and find my way out of here, I heard Damien's voice coming from a distance so I followed the sound of his voice so I could confront him but then I heard a female voice stopping me in my track, I quickly hid behind a large hedge bush when their voices grew closer.
"Damien what the fuck, is this some joke, I was gone for a few months and you're are engaged, did I mean so little to you"
"Emilia stop being dramatic, you left me remember, you said you wanted more from life and you left me, so you have no right to play the victim"
"But-"
"Did you expect me to wait for you like dome love sick teenage? I loved you Emilia and you left me like what we had didn't mean shit to you"
"I said i was going you come back to you I just needed some time"
"The time I gave you to come back expired a long time ago Emilia, I don't even know why you came? You should have stayed away"
"I wanted to see you Damien, so we could have dinner together and reminisce about old times but instead I'm attending your engagement party with that woman, do you know how much it hurts to see you with her"
"Well get used to it because she is going to be my wife" Damien said before he he turned walk away but while trying to stop him from walking away Emilia tripped on a rock and fell on her ass
"Fuck Emilia are you okay?" he asked his gaze running frantically over her body to check for any injuries.
"Damien please don't leave me" Emilia said her lips meeting Damien's, i waited for him to push her away, to prove me wrong that he wasn't a cheating asshole but he didn't push her away or even tried to stop the kiss.
After a few minutes they pulled apart and Damien helped her up to her feet as he continued holding her in his arms staring down lovingly at her not able to take anymore I ran out of the garden not looking where I was going causing me to run into someone.
"Tamara what's going on, why are you crying" I looked up to find Alex staring down at me with worried eyes.
"Alex, I'm so tired of all this drama, I just want to leave everything and run" I managed to say through my tears as Alex ran his hands down my back in a comforting manner
"Now that you've calmed down, tell me what happened Tamara?" Alex questioned softly.
I took a deep breathe before i started my explanation "After Damien kissed me by surprise after the announcement I wanted to confront him so I went looking for him and ended up in the garden where Damien and the woman that came before the announcement were arguing, I know I should have left but I wanted to listen to what they where saying, it turns out she's an old girlfriend of his and they ended up kissing and Damien didn't even try to push her away.
"Fuck!, that bastard, when I get my hands on him" Alex growled clenching his fist on his lap
"It's okay Alex, I don’t even know why I'm crying, it's not like I love him,"
"Tamara you don't even have to love him, cheating hurts no matter if you love the person or not, so I don't blame you" Alex said placing a kiss on my temple.
"I don't know if I can go back in there and act like everything is okay" I said letting out an exasperated sigh.
"No Tamara, you will go back in there with your head held high, you're not the one that is meant to be ashamed he is, so don't feel guilty about what happened"
"Okay, Thank you Alex, for the pep talk" I said and he was right why should I feel guilty for his infidelity.
"That's what brothers are for but I wish I could stop this whole thing so you don't have to get hurt anymore"
"It's not your fault Alex, can you walk me to my the room I was using? So I can fix my makeup, its ruined"
"No problem, let's go and I will stay by yours idea till this party is over"
"Thank you Alex, I love you"
"I love you too, little bee"
"Little bee, seriously" I asked giggling
"It made you smile, so i have no regrets" Alex said as he helped me to my feet and guided me to the room where my stuff were, he sat down on the bed while I fixed my make up at the dressing table, he kept saying and doing goofy things making me laugh the whole time we were there.
When I was done he held on to my hand and he took me back to the living room, Damien and Emilia where already here, I felt Alex hand tighten around mine as he gave me an encouraging smile, he guided me to where there where standing and didn't leave my side like he promised.
"Where were you Tamara, I've been looking everywhere" Damien asked causing Alex to glare at him.
"Right you were looking for her, Anyways She was with me, got a problem with that Mr Kingston?" Alex asked giving him a questioning look
"And you are?" Emilia asked her hand outstretched
"None of your business, come on Tamara I saw some chocolate cake at the desert table, lets go stuff our faces and mock people around us" Alex said causing me to giggle, he is such a clown.
"Tamara I would like to speak to you, you can join your brother later"
"Not interested Damien, you can catch up with your friend, I'm sure you have a lot to talk about" I said putting an emphasis on the friend before taking Alex’s hand as he led me to the desert table.
The party started coming to an end and I had to join Damien to say goodbye to the guest even if I didn't want too. After everyone had left Damien still tried to talk to me but I wasn't interested, he can go fuck himself.
I might not have had a choice in this marriage but I won't allow him take me for a fool, after saying my goodbye to Mr Zane and Miss Sarah, I went to meet Alex at the parking lot so he could take us home making sure to avoid Damien, I'm sure He will be furious but I don't give two fucks.
