CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
UNKNOWN POV
A week ago......
I observed her from where I was standing by the bar's entrance, keeping a safe distance from her but also being careful not to look suspicious. She was seated among a group of people who were drinking and talking loudly, as usual. Despite the loud music, I could still hear her high-pitched voice. How was I going to talk to her without seeming creepy? I pondered as I sighed in frustration and ran my hands through my hair. I needed to confirm my suspicions before moving forward with my plans, because if they were true? From this point forward, many things would go my way.
Before going any further into the pub, I made sure that my wig was in place and that my sunglasses were concealing my eyes, but just in case, I put on colored contacts to hide my real eye color in case of an emergency, I didn't want anyone recognising me tonight.
My target for the evening is Katherine Sanders. She is a natural party animal, so it was simple for me to find out where she would be tonight by making a few calls.
The longer I sat here, the more annoyed I became; I didn't want to spend too much time here. I had more important things to do, but getting my answers was crucial for my whole plan to work out. Fortunately for me a few minutes later, she got up from her seat and left her friends to get another drink from the bartender; once she was directly in front of me, I turned to face her.
"Oh, my goodness! It's Katherine Sanders!" I said, faking enthusiasm as she approached the bar. Katherine enjoyed being the center of attention, and I intended to capitalize on this by treating her like a celebrity. As I read about her online, I discovered she was a selfish, self-centered bitch who also likes to sleep around a lot, like a lot, she changes boyfriends three times a month, and if it weren't for her father paying and threatening the press, there would be a lot of incriminating information online that could ruin her life forever.
"Do you know who I am?" She asked, her voice raised due to the loud music, and she stared at me with half-lidded eyes, which fit the situation because she looked like she was about to pass out.
"Who doesn't, you're Thomas Sanders' daughter, his company is the best in the interior design world, I'm a huge fan!"
"T-that's right, my father is the b-best," she slurred, losing her footing and nearly tripping over herself. I quickly reached out and caught her, holding her steady giving me a grateful smile
"Thank you, y-you s -saved me," she stutters, and she appears so drunk that I wonder how much she's already consumed.
"Let me buy you a drink," I said, watching her pause. I quickly added, before she could say no, "it would mean a lot to me to have just a few minutes with such a beautiful woman as you." She smiled, nodded, and took a seat next to me.
"Just a few minutes, then. I need to return to my friends. You're lucky that you're handsome "She purred as she twirled a strand of her hair around her finger.
"Bartender, one bottle of your best vodka!" I placed my order, and he quickly brought it over, along with a few shot glasses.
"How did you know I liked vodka?" she asked, assessing the bottle with a huge grin on her face.
"Lucky guess, thank you so much for giving me a few minutes; the pictures don't do you justice; you are quite lovely in person" I said, and her eyes lit up at the compliment.
"Of course, duh, this takes money and time, but those paparazzi just get me on bad days," she said as she drank from one of the shot glasses.
"But they say your sister Tamara is more beautiful, which is a lie; you can tell who the attractive sibling is just by looking," I explained.
"They're obviously lying Tamara is so plain there's no way she's pretty," Katherine grumbled angrily as she took another shot of vodka.
"I know, but I heard she's getting married to Mr Kingston, one of New York's most eligible bachelors; how do you think she got him to look at her with her plain looks?" I cringed a little at my character, wishing I didn't sound so stupid.
"Not by choice," she said, leaning a little too far back for my liking, so I drew her closer to me to keep her steady; I don't want her to get a head injury before she tells me what I wanted to know.
"Not by choice, what do you mean, according to the media, they're in love, it's a practical Cinderella story."
"It's all an act, they don't love each other, because he loves me, I know he does," she said, her eyes welling up with tears.
"How come you say it's an act, Katherine?"
"Because Tamara is only marrying him to keep the company from going bankrupt," She responded, and a huge grin appeared on my face. If he used the fact that her father's company was going under to get her to marry him so that in turn he would save their company. Which means, he didn't love her and the two of them have been lying to everyone from the very beginning, oh Damien it's going to be fun watching you lose everything you have worked for.
But there was still one little issue, it's my word against theirs. So I have to either get rid of Tamara Sanders or get her on my side. Since I had gotten what I came for it was time to leave and head home.
"Oh look at the time, it was great meeting you Katherine, enjoy your drink," I said as I paid the bartender. I don't feel bad for using her because, to be honest, she was kind of a bitch, so she deserves whatever repercussions this truth-reveal will bring.
"Oh w-well by....e, Stranger, Thank you for the dr...nk, h-have a niceness n-night" She slurred, taking another shot before leaping off the chair, holding the vodka bottle in her hands, and returning to her friends.
I then left the bar and went home; the first thing I took off was the wig, which was itching like hell before I took out the coloured contacts I was wearing.
I smiled slightly as I stared at myself in the mirror of my bathroom. My plan was finally coming together and I'm not going to let anyone stand in my way.
