CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
TAMARA
I watched as he drove off and I was still burning with rage, who gave him the right to assume that I had nothing better to do than flaunt my father's money, only if he knew what really goes on in the Sanders house, it would be quite enjoyable to see him eat is words, everything I owned after my mother died was my hard earn money and I won't let him or anyone else say otherwise.
Once I got to the house Delia's smiling face was the first thing that greeted me and my previous angry mood had faded away.
"Why are you walking home at this hour, where is the young man that took you out, don't tell me he made you walk" Delia said with frown on her face
"It's okay Delia, he didn't make me walk, I was so tired of his bullshit that I had to get far away from him, are they home?" I asked hoping that they weren't, I wasn't ready for another round of drama this night.
"No, they went out to dinner with some clients"
"That's good,"
"Have you eaten, I have some leftover meatloaf, I can warm it up for you"
"No need Delia thank you but I'm too tired to eat anything else, I'm just going to go to bed, i need to wake up early because I'm going to the foundation tomorrow"
"Okay dear, sleep tight and good night, you are going to tell me how it went later when I'm free" Delia said, placing a quick kiss on my cheek
"No worries Delia'' I answered before I went up to my room to clean up and change into my nightwear. It was long before I got on my bed that sleep took me.
I was awake as early as seven so I could sneak out to avoid unnecessary questions, luckily they were still asleep so I ate the leftover meatloaf Delia had warmed up for me before she went to start her chores, after saying goodbye to Delia I left the mansion for the foundation. It wasn't easy to find a cab this early but eventually one came around and we headed for the foundation by seven forty.
It was quite early. So I didn't expect the others to have arrived yet, so I used my keys to get into the foundation and headed straight for my office placing the box of cupcakes I had gotten on my way on the nearest table, before going to take my seat on the coffee brown couch I my office with nothing else to do. I used the remaining time I had before the others arrived to get some rest.
Few minutes later….
"Wake up sleepy head, the sun is awake" a child's voice said and my eyes fluttered open, I found a girl smiling down at me, she looked so cute in her pink tutu.
"Why hello there, aren't you the cutest little thing" I said as I sat up straight picking the girl up and placing her on my lap.
"My aunt says I'm the prettiest princess in the whole world" the girl said giggling
"Well she isn't lying, you're the prettiest princess" I smiled, causing her grin to widen.
"You are pretty too, I like your hair, we can be pretty Princesses together, we just have to get you a crown" the little girl said.
"I like your hair too and I will love a crown, where is your aunt by the way"
"She is working but I'm mad at her so don't tell her I'm hiding out here, because she didn't give me the cookie I wanted"
"Oh that's not nice, what's your auntie name name little one"
"Annabella and my name is Selene" Selene answered while playing with a lock of my hair.
"Nice to meet you Selene, my name is Tamara"
"I know silly, Aunt Annabella told me and she also said you're the coolest boss ever" Selene giggled as she got off my lap to further explore the office then Annabella came through the office door.
"Oh thank God, Selene I have been looking all over for you, don't scare me like that, I'm sorry she woke you Tamara, the guys wanted you to sleep a little longer before we woke you, you looked tired"
"It's okay, she is a cute kid and she told me all your dirty secrets"
"Did she?" Annabella grinned widely as she chased Selene around the room indulging in her little theatrics. "Come on Selene, the other kids are arriving, won't you like to make some new friends"
"Yay!!" Selene cheered as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the office with Annabella laughing behind us.
"Aunt Tatiana,I made a new friend," Selene said, showing me off to the guys like a new trophy.
"I don't know how you do it but kids just love you like bear loves honey" Tommy said
"Are you jealous Tommy and stop being weird?, why would you compare my relationship with kids to a bear and its honey" I grinned, giving him a pack on the cheek as he engulfed me in a big hug.
"How are you doing Pumpkin" Tommy asked placing a kiss on my head.
"Just hanging in there"
"And how is that bastard treating you" Tommy asked his face contorted in anger.
"Let's not talk about him, I just want to enjoy my day with any drama"
"That's not going to be possible because the kids are pissed that they haven't seen you since the last time you bribed them with ice cream" Annabella said while trying to get Selene to stay in one place
"I know, I'm going to make it up to them I promise" I said turning to Tatiana who gave me a small smile.
"You look tired honey, are you overworking yourself again, it's not good for your health" Tatiana scolded, caressing my cheek gently.
"I'm sorry Tatiana, I will try to get more rest, where is Tina by the way, I haven't seen her in while"
"She is bringing the kids in" Tatiana answered them Tina and the kids walked in, they haven't spotted me yet so I used the opportunity to sneak up of them.
"Hey guys" I yelled and they turned instantly attacking me with hugs.
"Miss Tamara, Miss Tamara, we missed you so much" they all crossed and I smiled as they all stared at me with thoer cute smiling faces.
"I missed you guys too, guess what"
"Hmm, you are staying longer today" Tyler answered.
"Yes and I have another surprise for you guys"
"What is it" they all crossed
"If I tell you the surprise, will you guys forgive me for not being around, Anna said you guys are not happy with me"
"Depends on the surprise" Emily answered for everyone, she would make a good politician when she grows up.
"That's fair, so on my way here i stopped at Mario's and got your guys your favourite cupcakes" I answered and if it was possible for the smiles to grow wider it did as they attacked me with hugs again.
"Thank you" they all choruses
"I'm forgiven then"
"Yes you are" Emily said as they all gathered around me telling me all they have been doing since I was gone till lunchtime.
During lunchtime after they all had their packed lunch, I bought out the boxes of cupcakes and shared it round. I even got some for the guys too. Selene made sure she introduced herself to everyone and they all became friends.
At closing time each parent came to pick up their kids one by one till it was only the guys and I left at the foundation.
We cleaned up for the next day and as I was about to pack up and leave, I received a text from Mr Kingston telling me he wanted to see me at his office and I wondered why. I didn't want to go but to avoid further drama I decided it was best to see what he wanted but I didn't tell the guys where I was going after I left the foundation they would worry, especially Tommy.
So after saying my goodbyes I took a cab to Kingston enterprise and the building was beautiful as they say in the articles I read. I walked into the reception and went straight to the front desk, it was an older lady that was seated at the desk.
"Hello ma, I here to see Mr Damien Kingston" I said
"Do you have an appointment"
"I guess so I was sent an email to come see him, if not then I can just call him later if its a bother to check"
"Oh no ma, let me just look through the list, what's your name"
"Tamara Sanders" I answered as her gaze scanned the a paper she took out of her desk then her searching came to a stop.
"There you're, Miss Sanders, you can go up, his office is the last one on the top floor"
"Thank you"
"Just doing my job" she said before she directed me to the elevator to use, after thanking her once again, I walked to the elevator she had showed me and clicked on the top floor as the elevator door closed immediately.
Once I got to the top floor it wasn't that hard finding Mr Kingston’s office because there where like only like five offices on that floor and also his name was written boldly on it.
I walked in and his secretary was absent, confused as to what to do. I decided to go by myself. I knocked a few times and when I got no response, I opened the door and what I saw was not the least bit surprising but it was just too cliche.
