Chapter 17 So This Is Love?

ADAM
I watch her sleep and stroke a hand into her flawless cheeks. She's so beautiful inside and out and I am so happy that I have her yes I know that this would come. I know it's already coming. It takes how many days before I recovered after knowing the truth.
I admit that every time I saw her face, her presence on me, anger rose on me for their betrayal but you can't blame me. I'm already starting to fall for her. I'm starting to love her now. I am now loving her, that's the perfect word to say.
I remember when I was a child I was at their house, Mirana excuses herself to prepare some snacks for us and I was so impatient to show her my surprise and I walk to their kitchen when a girl catches my eyes she looked nervous at seeing me and her hands started fidgeting, I grab her hand and it was so soft and smooth. Her hands were warm and she struggled to escape. I was so shocked at that moment the way she acted it's so weird, odd and I found myself deep in thought.
I know this is already coming.
Flashback
"Hey, Scott why did you call me?" I asked as I sat comfortably and lifted my feet to the glass table.
"Keep off your feet please," he muttered as he placed a cup of coffee and a folder in the table.
"Open it," he added referring to the folder.
I frowned but I opened the folder and read silently the writings on it. I slowly read every detail until it sinks to my mind. I can't believe what I read.
"Ho-how did you know this?" I asked, still looking at the papers I was reading at.
He shrugged and I gave him a confused look.
"I didn't do any research on her background. I was planning to but I have this urgent client that I have to handle when this brown envelope with a folder inside is placed on my table. I asked someone of my stuff who leave a folder at my office and they just answered me that there was a delivery man who delivered it and since I was not at my office they just place the envelope on my table," he explained seriously and I believed on that
"I already read what's on that folder and I was too shocked so that's why I called you up," he added.
"Mirana has a twin?" I asked yes I already read it but I want him to answer it still.
"Yes," he directly answered.
"Mirana has a twin and its Marina Daughn Welch. Their parents already died when they were young.
Their parents died in a car crash and Marina was with them, they were at a party and they were just going home when their car crashed because the road was slippery at that time, that day was in a storm and only Marina survived. Their father died on the spot and their mother died on arrival. It was a miracle when Marina survived that tragic accident," he explained.
"And that Marina is," I stated and he nodded as if he already knew what I was asking.
"Yes Adam the Marina is the one who is your living with," he completely stated and I was lost in words, completely shocked by what I have heard and it keeps repeating and repeating in my mind.
"Yes, Adam the Marina is the one who is living with."
"I know you're shocked about this, me too. Is it meant to be sent to us and whoever it is is that he knows everything that is going on there? I nodded. I could not bear the following facts.
He inhaled deeply before starting to speak.
"It says that Mirana planned all of this. Mirana sends her twin sister, Marina to you. Mirana does love you, she can't handle breaking up with you that she might give in that's why she sends Marina to you. But what she didn't know was that Marina had a secret love for you, ever since. Mirana did all of that to a man named Marco; it didn't say the surname though. Mirana is now in Brazil but they are located in Paris. But here's the whole thing Adam, Mirana's coming back better prepare yourself then," he explained before sipping a coffee.
"This man who wrote this I think this is Marco, just my instincts," he added.
"Why?" That's all I can say for the truth slowly sinking in my mind, a jolt of pain stroke to my heart. All this time they're just playing around?
"I don't know either, it didn't say in here but is Marina telling you or giving you a sign on breaking up?" he asked and I know his mind is getting in investigator mode.
"No nothing at all," I answered and I think I already know the answer.
"That's why!" he snaps his fingers.
"She's coming back because Marina didn't do what Mirana told her and I think she's no good," he stated and took a biscuit from the table.
"You love her?" he asked and I frowned.
"Marina"
"Yes"
"Will you continue the proposal?" he asked as he took another bite of biscuits.
"Of course"
"Adam," Marina mumbled in her sleep and I stroke my hand on her cheeks.
"Yes, love?" I asked as I placed a kiss on her cheeks and her eyes fluttered to open.
"What?" she asked and even though the room was dark the moon was shining on us I can still see her blushing and I can't help myself to smile and pinch her little nose.
"Adam" she giggled and stared at me in the eyes.
"Are you not mad at me?" she asked and I could hear the pain in her voice.
I smiled and snake my arms into her waist and pulled her closer to my chest.
"You know I did," I answered and she bit her lower lip and lowered her head.
I lift her chin using my thumb.
"Don't bite your lips like that, I should be the one who's doing that," I chuckled.
"Yes I get mad, you can't blame me you lied," she started sobbing and I hushed her and embraced her tight.
"Adam I'm so sorry I didn't mean-"
"Shhh it's not your fault just let me finish first. Look at me love," I said and she turns to face me.
"I love you no matter what I love you just the way you are, I love you because you are Marina and not Mirana. Remember this love the ring in your finger symbolizes my love on you, your the one who makes me happy and loved just look at this ring and remember what I had said," I said and a single tear run on her cheeks and I wipe her tears using my thumb and gently kiss her in the lips.
"I love Adam," she said and cuddled me.
"I love you too love," I answered and kissed her hair.
"Now go to sleep," I added and I felt her nod.
