Chapter 38: The hundred kilograms added

All the students at Venom Hunters were stunned by the skills and abilities displayed by Marcelino, known as John. They couldn't believe the significant improvement he had shown after two months of intense training.

“Is that really John? Why does he seem like a completely different person?” asked one of the students, who had witnessed the bloody confrontation between Marcelino and Victor. Victor was now in the clinic, unconscious and being treated for the severe injuries he sustained in his fight with Marcelino.

While Marcelino ran to strengthen his stamina, he noticed the thoughtful look on Anamae, his mentor.

“John, what’s your plan now that you’ve proven you’re not weak?” Anamae asked, observing his every move.

“Ms. Anamae, I want to continue my training under your guidance. I know it’s selfish, but I want to become even stronger,” Marcelino replied, full of determination. “I don’t want anyone stepping on me or my loved ones, especially Angelic.”

Anamae smiled, proud of her student. “That’s what I like about you, John, brave! If that’s the case, I’ll intensify your training. You have one more month here before the final test, so be more serious and focused.”
“I am ready, anytime,” Marcelino responded without hesitation.

“Take this,” Anamae said, handing him a bracelet. “It’s a special item developed in the laboratory of the Venom Hunter Association.”
When the bracelet fell, it hit the ground with a loud thud.

Marcelino was astonished by the bracelet’s weight, which seemed to be made of a rare metal.
“Pick it up. Don’t take it off, even when you sleep,” instructed Anamae, smiling.

As Marcelino picked up the bracelet and wore it, he felt its weight—20 kilos each. Despite its heaviness, he managed to execute his movements.
“I’ll get used to this scene every day,” Marcelino said to himself as he began his new training regimen.

Every day, he ran to build his body’s endurance. Afterward, he went to Anamae for combat training. Initially, he moved slowly, but he gradually found the right rhythm.
“You’re faster now, John,” praised Anamae as she observed his progress. She was delighted with Marcelino’s dedication.

“If that’s the case, Ms. Anamae, it’s only right that you increase the weight I’m carrying,” Marcelino suggested as they sparred.

“Tssk! I won’t underestimate you, John. With your abilities, you’ll surpass others,” Anamae replied, dodging Marcelino’s punches.

Their session concluded, and before leaving, Anamae instructed Marcelino, “Pick up the additional weights from my room later.”

After a few days, Marcelino had adapted to using the additional weights. He now wore a bracelet on each wrist and an ankle on each foot, all weighing a total of 80 kilos. He even added more weights to his clothing, making him carry a total of 100 kilos. Thanks to the proper development of his muscles, he managed it well, and his daily training resulted in significant changes.

Two weeks passed since Marcelino’s training regimen increased to 100 kilos. Now, he was sparring with Ms. Anamae. They stood in the center of the training ground, both ready for the match.
“Are you ready, John?” Anamae asked, a glint in her eye.

“Yes, Ms. Anamae. I’ll do my best,” Marcelino replied, filled with determination.
Anamae charged forward, and at first, Marcelino struggled. Each movement felt slow due to the weight he carried. Anamae landed several hits, but Marcelino didn’t give up.
“You’re slower today, John. What happened?” Anamae asked, dodging another punch from Marcelino.

“Sorry, Ms. Anamae. I’m still getting used to the weight,” Marcelino replied, trying to recover.
Despite his difficulties, Marcelino continued to fight. He studied Anamae’s movements and learned to dodge and counterattack. But he knew it wasn’t enough to defeat his mentor.
“You’re stronger, but you need to improve more,” Anamae said as they continued their sparring.

Finally, Marcelino decided to remove the weights from his body. One by one, the bracelets and anklets fell to the floor, each hitting the ground with a thunderous sound.
Anamae was surprised by Marcelino’s actions. “What are you doing?” she asked.

“I want to show you my full abilities,” Marcelino replied confidently.
With the sudden lightness of his body, Marcelino became faster. In a matter of seconds, he dodged Anamae’s attacks and retaliated with his punches.
“Impossible!” exclaimed Anamae, feeling Marcelino’s blows land. “I didn’t expect this!”

In one final move, Marcelino managed to knock Anamae to the ground, leaving all the students watching in awe.
“How did you do that?” Anamae asked, now sitting on the ground, catching her breath.

“I just focused, Ms. Anamae. Thank you for everything you’ve taught me,” Marcelino said as he extended a hand to help Anamae up.
Anamae smiled, full of respect for her student. “You’ve proven yourself worthy of all you’ve learned. Keep training, and you’re not far from achieving your dreams.”
