Chapter 54: The mission impossible

After the meeting at the Innovation family mansion, Marcelino, Jack, and Marielle walked out with envelopes containing their final missions. Everything now led to the crowning of the next head of the most powerful family in the world. They knew every move, every decision, and every action would be scrutinized by the family. There was no turning back; they had to fight for everything.
Marielle’s Point of view

When Marielle arrived at her mansion, she immediately opened the envelope. Even before she finished reading, her pulse quickened, sensing something was wrong. When she finally finished reading her mission, she slumped into her chair. Her task was to hack into the network of one of the three celestial families—the Vermudez family, ranked third among the celestial families.
“Hacking?” Marielle whispered to herself, unable to believe what she was reading. She knew her strengths. She was an expert in creating poisons and medicines, things that dealt with physical and chemical reactions. But hacking? That wasn't her expertise.

Her anger flared, and she felt her hands tremble. “That damn ugly gay Jack is the expert here! How am I supposed to do this? Should I ask for his advice and help?” she wondered, but she hesitated. They were competitors, and she didn’t know how to face Jack, who might just laugh at her.

She knew she had no choice but to face the mission, but she couldn’t shake the anger bubbling up inside her. “Old grandpa, Manuel must be trying to set me up for failure,” Marielle thought, but she knew she had no other option but to fight.
Jack’s Point of view

Meanwhile, Jack entered his room at the mansion with a slight smile on his face, but when he opened the envelope, it felt like the sky and earth had collapsed on him. His mission: to infiltrate and destroy all laboratories of the Conde family, one of the celestial families. These laboratories were known for developing drugs, poisons, and advanced weapons that had not yet been discovered by others.
“Damn it! Why this?” Jack shouted as he punched the table in front of him. His mission was far from his expertise. He wasn’t an expert in pharmaceuticals and had no experience dealing with weapons. Only Marielle was suited for this kind of mission, but this was the one given to him.

“When it rains, it pours,” Jack muttered to himself, but soon he felt a surge of determination. He wasn’t going to back down from this challenge. “That old man thinks I can’t do it? That’s where he’s wrong. I may be flamboyant, but I’m smart! And I’ll do whatever it takes to become the queen of this family!”

Jack could feel a mix of anger and excitement building up inside him. His flamboyant nature had always driven him to reach for the position he longed for. He knew that succeeding in this mission would bring him to the throne of the Innovation family. “I can’t wait, my dear John,” Jack whispered to himself as he planned his next move.
Marcelino’s Point of view

Meanwhile, Marcelino sat in his own room, contemplating his mission. When he opened the envelope, he found the most difficult and complex mission of all: to destroy the Assassin Guild, which was connected to the Conde family, one of the three celestial families.

“Assassin Guild?” Marcelino muttered, feeling uneasy. He had no knowledge of this. In their family, only the Hunter Association had connections, and the Assassin Guild was their enemy in the field of work.
As he read the details of the mission, Marcelino’s heart raced. He had no information about this guild. He knew his mission was dangerous, and only Jack might have the knowledge and connections to help him. But how could he ask Jack for help, especially when they were rivals for the throne?

Marcelino stood up from his chair and paced around his room, trying to figure out how to succeed. He knew he couldn’t afford to lose. His family and his life were at stake. “How am I going to do this?” he asked himself.

Jack’s Determination
Despite everything, Jack felt a strange surge of energy. Even if the mission wasn’t in his wheelhouse, he knew he could handle it. His intelligence and skills in hacking systems would give him an edge. But what excited him most was the idea that in the end, John would be his. Marielle’s failure would pave the way for his victory, and no one else would succeed but him.
Marielle’s Doubts

As Marielle continued to think, she couldn’t help but feel fear and anxiety. She knew she couldn’t make a mistake. She knew she had to be careful with every move she made. But how could she face a mission that was beyond her expertise?

Despite all this, one thing was certain for Marielle: she would do whatever it took to succeed, even if it meant humbling herself and asking for help from her biggest rival, Jack.
Marcelino’s Dilemma

Marcelino, on the other hand, was restless as he thought about his mission. He knew he couldn’t afford to make a mistake. He knew he had to call Jack and ask about the Assassin Guild. But how could he do that without Jack knowing his true plan?

Marcelino stopped and thought. He had no choice but to ask Jack for help. But he knew he had to be careful with every word he said.
In the end, Marcelino decided to call Jack. “Jack,” he said, holding the phone, “I need your help.”

Marcelino took a deep breath before finally calling Jack. “Jack, I need to know about the Assassin Guild. I know you have connections there. I need information, and I know you’re the one who can help me.”
Jack smiled as he answered the call. He knew this was his chance. “John, my dear John, what do you need? You know I’m always ready to help you.”

“I’m in a tight spot, Jack,” Marcelino replied, trying to hide his anxiety. “I need information about the Assassin Guild. I know you have connections there.”

Jack thought for a moment. He knew he shouldn’t help John because they were rivals for the throne. But he also thought it would be easier to succeed if he knew John owed him.
“I know where you can find information about the Assassin Guild,” Jack said, a smile playing on his lips. “But you know that information doesn’t come free, John. There’s a price.”
What’s the price? Marcelino sighed. He knew he had no choice but to accept Jack’s condition. “What’s the price, Jack?” he asked.

Jack’s lips curled into a smile. “Count me in on your plans. I want you to come here in my house and be sure that bitch rose will not notice of what your action! and follow me in everything I do. I know I’m close to becoming the queen of this family, and I want you to be the king by my side.”

Marcelino couldn’t stop his heart from racing. He knew the condition was risky, but he also knew he needed the information.
“Okay, Jack,” Marcelino agreed. “I’m in.”

Jack laughed, as if he had won a great battle. “Good. You’ll see, John, I’m your only ally in this fight. We will win together. I’ll give you the information, but remember our deal.”
Jack smiled as he thought about what was to come. He knew John’s fate was in his hands, and he wasn’t going to miss this opportunity.
