Chapter 67: Jack suspected who Angelic really is.

The entire Conde mansion buzzed with whispers about the incident between Angelic and her cousin Markus, the son of Joshua by his second wife. The news spread quickly, stirring a mix of reactions among the family members.
"Dad, that deceitful woman! She’ll get what’s coming to her!" Markus fumed, his voice filled with anger as he spoke to his father, Joshua.
"Son, I know you're upset, but we have to accept that she’s incredibly strong. I’ve heard she’s skilled in various weapons and an expert in martial combat," Joshua replied, his tone calm but serious.
Markus was taken aback by his father’s words. He hadn’t expected Angelic to be so formidable. The thought of her being more than just a pretty face shocked him, yet the humiliation he felt continued to burn in his chest.
"But, Dad... how did she become so strong? She’s just...," Markus trailed off, unable to reconcile the image of Angelic with the strength his father described.
"Son, we must not underestimate anyone, especially someone like Angelic. She’s been through things we can’t even imagine. Be careful," Joshua warned, his gaze steady as he spoke.

Meanwhile, in the distance, Jack was carefully observing the mansion through his special binoculars, which had the ability to see through walls. He had partially hacked into the Conde family’s forbidden systems, allowing him to activate a tracing device to monitor the movements within the compound.
As he scanned the area, his binoculars suddenly captured the image of a woman who sent a shockwave through him. His heart skipped a beat as he zoomed in to confirm what he was seeing.
"No… it can't be! A-Angelic? How is she inside the Conde household?" Jack muttered to himself, confusion overtaking him.
His thoughts raced back to the time he first encountered Angelic. He remembered her as an ordinary woman, someone Marcelino had enlisted him to deceive as part of a mission that eventually led to the death of Angelic’s father. She was supposed to be a mere pawn, insignificant in the grand scheme of things. But now, seeing her here, in the very heart of the Conde family’s stronghold, shattered everything he thought he knew.
"This doesn’t make sense...," Jack whispered, his hands trembling slightly as he continued to stare through the binoculars. "She shouldn’t be here. Our entire plan… what’s going on?"
For a brief moment, Jack’s guard slipped. He was so absorbed in the shock of seeing Angelic that he failed to notice the danger creeping up on him. While he was blocking the Conde family’s forbidden systems, he didn’t realize that he had triggered a detection alert.
Suddenly, his alert device blared, jolting him back to reality. The loud beeping sent adrenaline surging through his veins. "Damn it!" he cursed under his breath as he quickly packed up his gear. He knew he had been detected, and if he didn’t move fast, the Conde guards would soon be upon him.
Panic set in as he scrambled to escape. His mind was in turmoil—not just from the immediate threat of being caught, but also from the realization that Angelic, the woman he had once dismissed as insignificant, was now somehow deeply involved with the Conde family.
As Jack sprinted through the forested area surrounding the mansion, he nearly tripped over a root, barely managing to keep his balance. His heart pounded not only from the exertion but from the shock of discovering that everything had changed.
"She’s not supposed to be here…," he kept repeating to himself, trying to make sense of what he had just seen. "If Angelic is here, does that mean...?"
But there was no time to think. He had to focus on getting away. His eyes darted around, searching for the quickest route out of the Conde territory.
Finally, when he had put enough distance between himself and the mansion, he paused to catch his breath. He checked his alert device, which was still flashing a warning, showing the proximity and speed of the approaching guards. Jack’s breath caught in his throat as he realized how close they were.
"This is insane," Jack muttered, his breathing ragged. "One wrong move, and it’s all over."
Even as he managed to escape, the weight of what he had just discovered pressed heavily on his chest. The image of Angelic inside the Conde mansion replayed in his mind, a nightmare he couldn’t shake off. With every breath, he felt the gravity of the situation sinking in, and he knew he couldn’t ignore it any longer.
The confusion and anxiety were evident on his face, a clear sign that the carefully laid plans had encountered a major setback. He knew he needed to contact Marcelino as soon as possible. But first, he had to ensure he was safe from the Conde guards and figure out how to process the shocking truth he had uncovered.
