Chapter 51: The Assassin’s Infiltration

Angelic observed her surroundings carefully, knowing that with the tight security and heightened alertness, finding an opportunity to kill her target would be challenging. She had been given two weeks to complete her mission, and failure would mean she wouldn't pass the Assassin's Guild initiation. One morning, while surveying the area, she overheard that there would be a grand event at the Jackoller mansion that evening, hosted by her target, Luluten Jackoller.

Angelic decided this would be her chance. While walking around the estate, she struck up a conversation with a gardener working outside. The old man looked up from his work as she approached.
“Good morning, Uncle! The flowers here are beautiful,” Angelic said, smiling warmly.

The gardener smiled back, wiping sweat from his brow. “Ah, good morning, Miss! Thank you. I've been taking care of these flowers for years now.”
“You must have been working here a long time,” Angelic probed, her tone light but her mind sharp.

“Almost twenty years,” the gardener replied with a chuckle. “This house has many secrets. But be careful, Miss. The security is tight, especially today. There’s a big event tonight.”
Angelic’s interest piqued. “Really? What kind of event?”

“A grand gathering for VIPs. It’s a common thing here, but tonight will be special. Senyor Luluten will be in a good mood, but the security will be even tighter.”
“Thank you for the warning, Uncle. You take care,” Angelic said, slipping a small bill into the gardener’s hand before walking away, her mind racing with plans. Tonight would be her best opportunity.

As night fell, the Jackoller mansion came alive with activity. Luxury cars lined the driveway, depositing wealthy guests at the front steps. Security was tight, with guards posted at every strategic point. But Angelic was ready. She had studied the mansion for days, noting every security camera, every guard’s routine, and every potential weak point.

Disguised as a maid, Angelic moved through the mansion, carrying a tray of champagne flutes. She blended seamlessly with the staff, her eyes always scanning for her target. The ballroom was filled with opulence—chandeliers sparkled overhead, and the air buzzed with conversation and laughter. Luluten Jackoller stood in the center, surrounded by guests, his presence commanding the room.

Angelic slipped out of the ballroom and into the garden behind the mansion. The garden was one of the few places not constantly monitored by guards, only by cameras that she had already neutralized using an anti-detection device. She scaled the 15-foot-high wall surrounding the estate using a sharp object with a steel wire. Once over the wall, she activated the anti-detection device, rendering her invisible to the estate’s advanced surveillance system.

Inside the mansion, the guards coordinated their patrols through discreet earpieces.
"West side clear. How’s the garden looking?" one of the guards asked.
"All clear. No sign of any breaches," another replied.

"Keep it tight. We don’t want any surprises tonight," the lead guard instructed.
Angelic moved with purpose, avoiding the security beams. Every step was calculated, every movement precise. As she approached the mansion’s rear entrance, she disabled the lock on the door with a small tool and slipped inside. The hallway was dark and empty, just as she had anticipated.

She knew her target would eventually retire to his study after the party. Angelic made her way through the mansion, her footsteps silent. She had to be patient, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Angelic knew that tonight was her best chance to eliminate Luluten Jackoller. The tight security and constant surveillance made it nearly impossible to get close to him, but she had a plan. Disguising herself as one of the maids, she knew she could blend in with the staff and get close enough to strike.

Earlier that evening, Angelic had targeted a real maid who was on her way to the mansion. With a swift, calculated blow, she knocked the woman unconscious and dragged her to a secluded spot. "Sorry, but I need this more than you do," she muttered as she quickly stripped the maid of her uniform and put it on. The outfit fit her perfectly, accentuating her curves and giving her an appearance that was both alluring and disarming. She looked at herself in the mirror and smirked, "I make a beautiful maid... a beautiful killer maid."

To ensure her disguise was flawless, she activated a small device developed by her family—a cutting-edge piece of technology that allowed her to scan and mimic the appearance of another person. She chose the face of a famous model, someone no one would expect to see serving drinks at a party. In seconds, her face transformed, becoming even more beautiful, her lips fuller, her eyes more seductive. She let her neckline dip just enough to draw attention, knowing that her target, Luluten, wouldn’t be able to resist.

As she made her way to the grand hall, her eyes locked onto Luluten. He was surrounded by guests, laughing and enjoying the evening, completely unaware of the danger approaching him. Angelic glided through the room, her movements graceful, her presence magnetic. She caught Luluten’s eye almost immediately.

"Who is that woman?" Luluten asked, his gaze fixated on Angelic. "I’ve never seen her before."
"Senyor," one of his guards responded, "we hired some new part-time maids for tonight's event. We brought in the best from other regions so you could have a selection for... your private enjoyment."
Luluten’s eyes gleamed with interest as he continued to watch Angelic. His gaze traveled up and down her body, taking in every detail. He was already imagining what the night would bring. "Bring her to me," he ordered, unable to hide the desire in his voice.

Moments later, Angelic approached Luluten, her demeanor innocent yet undeniably seductive. "Good evening, Senyor," she purred, her voice sweet and melodic. "I’m Maria Kurimaw, your new maid. May I serve you a glass of wine?"
Luluten’s eyes narrowed with pleasure as he listened to her. "Yes, Maria, pour me a glass. And do it slowly. I want to enjoy every moment."
Angelic smiled and picked up a bottle of wine. She had already spiked it with a slow-acting poison, one that would take effect after half an hour. As she poured the wine, she kept her eyes on Luluten, her gaze never wavering.
"Here you go, Senyor," she said, handing him the glass. But before he could take it, one of his guards interrupted.
"Wait! Drink it first, Maria. We can’t take any chances," the guard demanded, suspicion in his voice.

Angelic’s heart didn’t skip a beat. She was prepared for this. Smiling sweetly, she nodded. "Of course, no problem." She lifted the glass to her lips and drank. The poison flowed into her system, but she felt nothing. The special ring she wore instantly neutralized the poison, purifying it before it could do any harm.

When the guard saw that Angelic was unaffected, he nodded in approval. "She’s clean," he said.
Luluten took the glass from Angelic, his eyes dark with desire. "Pour me another," he ordered, already downing the first glass. Angelic obliged, her movements slow and deliberate, knowing that each sip brought him closer to death.

"Meet me in my chamber after the event," Luluten whispered in her ear, his breath hot against her skin. "I want you to make me happy tonight."
Angelic’s smile never faltered. "I’ll be there, Senyor. I’ll make sure this is a night you’ll never forget," she replied, her voice dripping with seduction.
Satisfied, Luluten finished the second glass, not knowing that his fate was sealed. Angelic continued to serve drinks to the guests, biding her time. She knew she had about 30 minutes before the poison took effect, and she needed to be far away when it did.

As the minutes ticked by, Angelic made her way to the garden. There, she quickly shed the maid’s uniform and changed back into her original clothes. She had to move fast; time was running out. Once she was dressed, she scaled the mansion’s wall and disappeared into the night, leaving no trace of her presence behind.

Back in the grand hall, Luluten was beginning to feel the effects of the poison. His head spun, and he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He tried to stand, but his legs gave way, and he collapsed to the floor. The guests around him screamed, rushing to his aid, but it was too late.

"Senyor!" his wife cried out, running to his side. But there was nothing she could do. Blood trickled from Luluten’s nose as the poison did its work. His vision blurred, and the last thing he saw was his wife’s terrified face.
Within seconds, Luluten was dead, his glass of wine still clutched in his hand. The mansion erupted into chaos as the guards realized their master had been murdered. But Angelic was already gone, her mission complete.
She had taken another step down the path of an assassin, and this time, she felt nothing but the satisfaction of a job well done.
