Chapter 42: Jack's Desperation
Jack’s heart raced with panic and anger when Rose caught him taking advantage of Marcelino’s drunken state. Marcelino lay there, stark naked, unconscious from the drugs Jack had secretly slipped into his drink. Jack knew Rose had long suspected his feelings for Marcelino, but he never imagined she would catch him in such a compromising position.
“That damned witch!” Jack muttered furiously to himself as he drove home. “Why did she have to show up and ruin everything? If it weren’t for her, I would have finally had John—the man I’ve loved for so long! You’ll pay for this, you meddling witch. Your time will come, and I will make sure you pay with your life!”
Jack’s mind raced with anger and frustration. His long-held fantasies of claiming Marcelino for himself had been shattered by Rose’s unexpected arrival. The chance he thought he had was now lost, snatched away just as he believed he was about to taste heaven itself.
Despite his foiled plans, Jack had managed to capture photos and videos of Marcelino in his vulnerable state. While Rose thought she had confiscated Jack’s phone containing the incriminating evidence, Jack, being the skilled hacker he was, had already saved copies in a secure location.
Now, safely in his apartment, Jack gazed intently at the lewd images and videos of Marcelino on his computer screen. “What a waste! Heaven turned to hell, all because of that damned witch!” he fumed, his mind consumed with a toxic mix of anger and desire.
“Rose thinks she’s so clever, but she doesn’t know I’ve saved everything. She’s gravely mistaken!” Jack chuckled darkly, his laughter tinged with malice and the thrill of his twisted victory.
“John, my love, my darling,” Jack murmured softly, his voice dripping with obsession. “If I can’t have you willingly, I’ll make sure you come to me one way or another. I have enough dirt on you to ruin your image, and I’ll use it if I must. Prepare yourself, John, because you will be mine.”
Jack’s eyes gleamed with a sinister intent as he plotted his next move, determined to manipulate Marcelino into submission. In his mind, Jack was already envisioning the moment when he would finally have Marcelino under his control, willing or not.
Meanwhile, in the heart of the Amazon, Angelic was finishing her own journey of transformation. Months earlier, she had embarked on an intense training regimen on Death Island, a remote place where only the strongest survived.
Three months ago, Angelic had a conversation with her father, Arnold, before she left for the treacherous island.
“Are you sure about this, Angelic?” Arnold asked, concern etched in his eyes. “The training on Death Island is unlike anything you’ve ever faced before. It’s a place where only the strongest survive. You know that, right?”
“I know, Dad,” Angelic replied confidently, though her voice carried a hint of trepidation. “But if I’m going to face the Innovation family and protect Monic and George, I need to be stronger. I can’t let anyone hurt them. Not ever.”
Arnold nodded, understanding the determination in her voice. “You’re right. And I’ll be here to look after them while you’re gone. They’re in good hands, Angelic.”
“Thank you, Dad,” she said, giving him a heartfelt hug. “I’ll tell them I’m going on a business trip to the United States. They won’t know the difference, and I promise I’ll come back stronger.”
“I believe in you,” Arnold said, holding her at arm’s length. “And remember, you’re never alone. I’m just a call away if you need anything.”
As Angelic prepared to leave, she sat down with her twins, Monic and George, to explain her temporary absence.
“Mommy has to go on a business trip, sweethearts,” she began, trying to keep her tone light. “I’ll be gone for a little while, but Grandpa will be here with you, and he’ll take great care of you both.”
Monic looked up at her with wide, concerned eyes. “But, Mommy, why do you have to go? Can’t you stay here with us?”
“I wish I could, darling,” Angelic said, brushing a strand of hair from Monic’s forehead. “But this trip is really important for my work. I promise I’ll be back before you know it, and I’ll call you every day.”
George, more reserved than his sister, simply nodded. “Okay, Mommy. But you have to come back soon, okay?”
“I will, sweetheart,” she assured him, pulling both of them into a warm embrace. “I love you both so much. Be good for Grandpa, alright?”
“Okay, Mommy,” they chorused, their voices a mixture of understanding and sadness.
With a heavy heart, Angelic bid farewell to her children and set off for Death Island, knowing that the trials she faced there would push her beyond her limits but ultimately prepare her for the battles ahead.
Meanwhile, Angelic embarked on her own perilous journey, arriving at Death Island after several hours of grueling travel. This remote and treacherous place lay hidden deep within the Amazon rainforest, a secluded haven for those seeking to hone their lethal skills. Angelic stepped off the boat, her heart pounding with a mixture of fear and determination. She stood at the edge of a world where only the strongest survived, where the weak perished and were forgotten by their families.
“This place is like a waking nightmare,” Angelic murmured, feeling the oppressive aura of the island envelop her. “It’s not for beginners. Only those with unhuman strength and determination can survive here.”
Death Island was infamous for its brutality. Many who entered never returned, their names erased from their family legacies. Here, life was cheap, and the leaders took no responsibility for those who perished. It was a place where one’s fate was sealed, a gateway to Hades itself.
As Angelic took her first steps onto the island, she couldn’t help but feel a chill crawl up her spine, her skin tingling with the sensation of unseen eyes watching her every move. The air was thick with danger, and the cries of unknown creatures echoed through the dense foliage.
“Are you Angelic?” a voice called out, rough and commanding.
Angelic turned to see a woman approaching her, a figure whose presence was as intimidating as the island itself. The woman was muscular, her body honed to perfection, and her aura exuded power and authority. Her eyes were as sharp as daggers, and she moved with the grace of a predator.
“Yes, I’m Angelic,” she replied, swallowing her fear and standing her ground.
“I am Cassandra, the head trainer here,” the woman said, her voice as harsh as the environment around them. “You’re late. I hope you’re ready for what lies ahead. This is not a place for the faint-hearted. You should have realized that before stepping foot here.”
Angelic nodded, trying to keep her voice steady. “I know what I’m here for. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to become strong, to learn everything I can to protect my family and myself. I will endure this, no matter how tough it gets.”
Cassandra smirked, a hint of approval in her gaze. “You’re brave, I’ll give you that. But bravery alone won’t save you here. We push people to their limits, and only those who survive become true assassins. Are you prepared to face that?”
“I am,” Angelic said firmly, meeting Cassandra’s gaze with unwavering determination. “I need to be strong, stronger than anyone else. And I have my reasons.”
Cassandra stepped closer, her eyes narrowing. “You’re not the first to come here seeking power. Many have tried, and many have failed. What makes you think you’re different?”
“Because I have nothing left to lose,” Angelic replied, her voice filled with resolve. “And I have everything to gain. I need to become a full-fledged assassin. I have enemies to face, wrongs to right, and people to protect.”
“Enemies?” Cassandra echoed, intrigued. “Who are these enemies that drive you to such lengths?”
“The Innovation family,” Angelic said, her voice laced with bitterness. “And especially Marcelino. They’ve taken everything from me, and I intend to take it back. But first, I need to be ready.”
Cassandra studied her for a long moment, then nodded. “Very well. You’ve got guts. Let’s see if you have the strength and will to match.”
As Angelic followed Cassandra deeper into the island, she felt a newfound determination burning within her. She knew the road ahead would be fraught with peril, but she also knew that it was a path she had to walk. She had to become strong enough to protect those she loved and to exact her revenge on those who had wronged her.
The challenges of Death Island had transformed her, turning her into a formidable force to be reckoned with. As she prepared to leave the island, her mind turned to her next move against the Innovation family.
“Soon,” Angelic whispered to herself, the shadows of the island retreating behind her. “Soon, I’ll be ready to face them all.”
