Chapter 47: The New Assassin

Angelic stepped off the helicopter, the cool breeze of the Death Island School's landing pad whipping through her hair. Her mission had been grueling, testing not just her skills but her very resolve. But now, she was back, and the weight of her accomplishment began to sink in.

As she made her way toward the main building, the other students and teachers stopped in their tracks, their eyes following her with a mixture of awe and disbelief. They had heard whispers of her mission, the impossible odds, and the deadly target she was assigned to eliminate. Now, seeing her return, the whispers turned into murmurs of admiration.
"Did she really do it?" one student whispered to another.

"I heard she killed the target in less than a week," another added, eyes wide with amazement.
"Eight days," a voice corrected them. "She completed the mission in just eight days."

Angelic kept her face emotionless, her stride confident, but inside, she felt the weight of their stares. She wasn’t sure how to feel about the admiration. It was her first kill, and though she had steeled herself, the image of the target’s wife crying over his body still lingered in her mind. She pushed it away, reminding herself that this was the path she had chosen.

At the entrance of the main hall, Cassandra was waiting. The seasoned assassin’s face was unreadable, but there was a flicker of something in her eyes—pride, perhaps.
"So, you’re back," Cassandra said, her tone neutral, but Angelic could sense the underlying approval.

"Mission accomplished," Angelic replied, handing over the evidence of the kill.

Cassandra took the folder, flipping through the contents. She nodded, satisfied with what she saw. "You’ve done well, Angelic. Better than I expected."
Angelic remained silent, unsure of what to say. She was relieved the mission was over, but the gravity of what she had done was still sinking in.

"You’ve earned your place among us," Cassandra continued, her voice firm. "As of today, you are officially an assassin. But before we go any further, there's one last thing you need to do."
"And what's that?" Angelic asked, her tone steady but curious.

"You need to register at the Hidden Assassin Guild. It's a place where only the best of the best go. This will mark your entry into the world of assassins—a world where there's no turning back. Your name will be known, your skills respected, but with that comes great danger. Every assassin is both a hunter and the hunted."
Angelic nodded. "I'm ready."

Cassandra smiled, a rare expression for the usually stoic woman. "Good. I’ll arrange for your transport to the guild. Once you’re registered, you’ll be part of something larger than just revenge. You’ll have access to resources, contacts, and information that you can use against the celestial families."

After a brief exchange, Cassandra gave Angelic the coordinates and directions to the Hidden Assassin Guild. It was located deep within a mountain range, a place shrouded in secrecy and accessible only to those who had proven themselves.

Angelic took the information and turned to leave, but Cassandra stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. "One more thing, Angelic."
She turned back, meeting Cassandra's intense gaze.

"Remember why you’re doing this. The path you’ve chosen is dark and dangerous, and it will change you in ways you can't yet imagine. But if you hold on to your purpose, you’ll find the strength to carry on, no matter what comes your way."

Angelic nodded, understanding the gravity of Cassandra's words. "I won’t forget," she promised.
With that, she left the main hall, her mind already focused on the next step. The journey to the Hidden Assassin Guild would be challenging, but she was determined to succeed. This was her path now—one forged in blood and vengeance.

Back at the Conde Mansion, Angelic’s father, Arnold Conde, was awaiting her return. The moment she stepped through the doors, his stern face broke into a rare smile.
"Angelic," he greeted, extending his arms. "You’ve done it."

Angelic approached him, allowing herself to be pulled into a rare embrace. "Father, it’s over. I completed the mission."
"I never doubted you," Arnold said, stepping back to look her in the eyes. "You’ve made me proud. Completing the Death Island training is something only a few can boast about. You are one of them now."
Angelic felt a swell of pride but tempered it with the knowledge that her journey was far from over. "This is just the beginning, Father. There’s still much to be done."

"Indeed," Arnold agreed, his expression turning serious. "Now that you’re fully trained, it’s time to set our plans in motion. The other celestial families have had their way for too long. It’s time they faced the consequences of their actions."

"Tell me what needs to be done," Angelic said, her voice steady.
Arnold led her to his private study, where maps and documents were spread across a large wooden table. He pointed to various locations marked on the map. "These are the strongholds of the celestial families. The Innovation family, as you know, is the most powerful. But they’re not invincible. We’ve been gathering intelligence for years, and now, with you by my side, we can start dismantling their power."

Angelic studied the map, noting the strategic positions and the information written in Arnold’s precise handwriting. "And Marcelino? What’s our plan for him?"
Arnold’s eyes darkened at the mention of the name. "Marcelino is a key player in the Innovation family. He’s ruthless, cunning, and dangerous. But he has a weakness—his love for you. We can use that against him."
Angelic’s heart tightened at the thought of Marcelino. The man who had once captured her heart was now her enemy. "I’ll do whatever it takes to bring him down," she said, determination lacing her voice.
"We’ll need to be careful," Arnold warned. "The Innovation family won’t go down without a fight. But with our resources and your skills, we have a chance to turn the tide."

Angelic nodded, absorbing the gravity of their mission. "When do we start?"

"Right away," Arnold replied, his tone resolute. "But first, you must register at the Hidden Assassin Guild. This will ensure that we have the backing of the most elite assassins in the world. Once you’re registered, we’ll begin our campaign against the Innovation family and their allies."

"I understand," Angelic said, already mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. "I’ll leave for the guild immediately."

"Good," Arnold said, his eyes filled with pride and determination. "This is our moment, Angelic. Together, we will bring justice to those who have wronged us."

As Angelic prepared to leave for the Hidden Assassin Guild, she felt a sense of purpose and resolve stronger than ever before. The training, the struggles, the sacrifices—it had all led to this moment. She was no longer just Angelic, the woman seeking revenge. She was now a fully trained assassin, ready to face the world’s deadliest foes.
The time for revenge had come, and Angelic was ready to claim it.
