Chapter 26

It's been three days since the news propagated the news of queenie not being a dale ,the results seem to be the main thin on every mind .

I did speak to the editor of the news channel before hand about it ,and I hope he would do as we agreed .

Sitting in my new office which now feels normal unlike the first time which I was overwhelmed by it .

Even in the midst of all the troubles I was a bit happy about my fortune.


The office lime rings and ella speaks through the phone, "sir miss....


My office door opens and I see Sofia, she looks ravishing after she removes her coat and place it on the office couch.

"You haven't been picking my calls,why?"

"I have been busy working ,you know how it is over here ,"I replied


No I do not she answers ,go on tell me how it is !

"Okay its paperwork and meetings and t u en inspections, I have to secure deals ,inspect and make sure everyone is working ....."

I have to do the same too you know,I have to make sure you are working Arnold .

I am having some goods move to the new York and i hear you have refused to do the paperwork .

We can't work like that Arnold, would you like me to show you how ruthless I can be ?


I am not really a bad person Arnold but you have to help me so I can be good to you she says

I swallow hard as I hear those words.

We don't want Christine and her baby dying do we ?

Or your wife losing her life ,you know Arnold what I really do is business and most times it is all about those we care about .

If you don't approve of it before dark one of them will be dead and if you don't still the next will be taken until you don't have anybody to care for ,do you understand me?"

She stands and walks to the fridge beside my table and then she opens it ,she takes out a bottle of whiskey and a glass, she pours a bit into the glass and drops it in front of me .

And puts the bottle back into the fridge.

"Drink up" she says .

What!?

I said drink up now !

I could see her eyes burn with fiery cold howling in them as she watched me ,I took the glass to my mouth and then I gulped a bit into my system .

Good boy she says ,you see how easy it is to do what you are told right?

You have until the end of today to make things right ,she says walking toward the couch and picking up her coat .

I still can't help but watch her body ,I watch her put OK the coat ,I look at her eyes which have now changed .

They look innocent now ,she looks like the first time we met wild and innocent all at once .


I feel my body burn not out of fear but just desire even though I know she might kill me ,even though I know she is bad news I still crave her .

She walks out of the office without looking back ,I check my files for the one to include her container into the goods coming in.

For now I would like to do as she says while I find a way to Bend her under my wing .


My cell phone rings and queenie's voice is all I hear ,I could feel the pain underneath it but I know she isn't crying .


"Arnold the tests are out", she tells Out.

I wait to hear her speak ,the silence between us this minutes creates a tension that makes me stand from my chair and stare through the office window .

The results are out ,she repeats in a sullen voice .

Okay how was it ?

It is negative ,my DNA doesn't match that of my father or my mother ,I don't know what to do?

You don't have to do anything ,I will call you right back, I tell her trying to fix the situation ,it is not what I do but ever since I met quennie I feel I have evolved .

I cut the call and call jack ,"hello "he says in a calm and collected voice .

I hear the results are out ? I say to him.
Yes, are you calling me to mock me?
"No I am not "I say plainly ,I am calling to know what you want yo do about it?

What do you think I want to do about it ?
i will definitely find my other child and make sure my first child doesn't get eaten by the media ,you have to do that too,you have to protect queenie.

Queeenie is your daughter you should protect her ,I have spoken to the chief editor of the TBS news and he agreed to alter the results on air for some money,i will handle it ,I just want to know that we are on the same page .

This doesn't make us buddies .

I know then I hang up ,I pick up my phone and call the chief editor and tell him what to do .

He was shocked but still he agreed and sent a number for me to make the wire transfer.


I sigh and wait patiently for the news now,wondering who would be the the real child of the dales ,

Finding the real child would actually help right now ,we could strike a deal I tell myself .


"Freddy ! I say pressing my cell to my ear.

Hello he says ,I could feel his drunken voice from the other end I check my wristwatch to see what time it is ,"why are you drunk by this time of the day?

I am not drunk he replies me ,i just took a couple of drinks ,I can fly a plane in this state .

Cut that out ,I want you to do something for me Freddy, I want you to investigate something .

You see it's really private can you come to my office?
