CHAPTER 16

After kissing her friend bye, Selena went to the parking lot. She sat in her car for a while; her body was shaking that she just couldn’t drive at the moment. After resting for about ten minutes, she started the engine and began to drive home. Something hit her though, Vivian had talked about the baby so she changed her course and went straight to the hospital.
After ten minutes, thanks to her name she went in to see the doctor. She was a bright woman and she liked her.
“Thank you for seeing me in such short notice,” she said as she sat in the chair that had been provided to her.
“It’s nothing. So, are you feeling sick or sick?” the doctor asked her.
“Not really. I just wanted to seek an opinion from a professional,” she said and she looked at her.
“Are you perhaps pregnant and planning on aborting?” the doctor asked her and she denied it right away.
“I want to see if I am pregnant and if I am, I wouldn’t dream of aborting my child,” she said and the doctor smiled at her response.
“I am a woman too and had been through three lovely pregnancies. Without doing the tests I can tell that you are there but I will still do it, we need to be sure than for us to do some guess work,” the doctor said as she stood up.
“Thank you.”
She spent another hour getting numerous tests and waiting for the results to come. When the results came she was nervous. What would she do if they came out negative?
She just didn’t know what to do anymore.
“Should we call your husband?” the doctor asked as she sat down in her chair.
“He is out of the city and I don’t want to raise his hopes up,” she lied.
“It’s okay then, I will tell you the results and I hope that you will accept the results as they are,” the doctor said as she opened the envelope.
She had never been that scared before. Even when she married her husband, she didn’t feel like this. Meeting Cleo didn’t scare her in the way that envelope was at the moment.
The doctor read through the documents and put a smile on her face.
“You don’t have to be that scared. Congratulations, the results came out positive. You are indeed pregnant and its three weeks,” the doctor said giving her the envelope.
She was excited; she didn’t know what to do with the news but found tears rolling down her cheeks.
“I am quite surprised to see such a joyous face about the pregnancy despite your age. You married quickly,” she said and Selena nodded her head.
“I got married at eighteen, a few months after I started my freshman,” she replied as she looked at the papers once more.
“I can tell that you love your husband. Just keep it up and when he returns please tell him and bring him with you for your checkup,” the doctor said.
“I will do so doctor.”
“I have put the time you should come for your checkups and of course you can choose another doctor of your liking,” the doctor said and Selena looked at her.
“I would like you to be my doctor. You didn’t judge me when you saw me, I feel comfortable around you,” Selena told the doctor from the bottom of her heart.
“Thank you for saying that. I will take my leave now and I will call to set up an appointment,” she said as she stood up.
“Do that, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call me,” the doctor said as she gave her, her business card.
“I will give you a call,” Selena said as she smiled.
When she left the hospital she was excited. She couldn’t wait to tell him but she had things to do first before that. She was going to wait until they resolved this Cleo’s issue before announcing the news.

It was quite disturbing when he learnt that Cleo had met his wife after he left the city. Because of his busy schedule he couldn’t return earlier. He returned back home after two days and when he got home his wife was not home. She was still at school and to make matters worse she had never called him to ask him about it.
While he waited for his wife to return he decided to make a meal for her. It was a shock to his staff but he had to do something to appease her anger. She might be a quiet person but he knew that she was a tricky one. Once she explodes she will cause a lot of damage.
He heard the car parking and he was overjoyed. Would she smile at him when she sees him? He hoped that she will do that. He walked to the door and stood there as she came. She stopped and looked at him. All of a sudden, tears began to stream down her cheeks. He had never seen her cry like this before. She was deeply hurt and it was his entire fault.
He walked towards his wife, and he hugged her. She didn’t try to escape from him which was a relief. He took her inside and he made her sit at the table. He served her food and to his surprise she ate it all.
He thought she would make a tantrum and refuses to eat but she proved him wrong. After having her dinner, she left and went to the bedroom. When he arrived she was taking a shower. Ever since she walked in, she didn’t say a single word to him. He didn’t know what to say or do at this point. When she came out of the bathroom she was wearing her night dress.
“We need to talk,” Sean said as he took her hand so that the two of them were sitting on the bed.
