CHAPTER 29

With a smile he watched as Selena was joined by her friend and the two started giggling. Those two were really close and accomplices he could tell.
He began to walk towards the dining area when Victor joined him.
“Congratulations once again,” Victor said as he patted his shoulder.
“Thanks man, I can’t believe that she kept this quiet for so long without even saying a word. I didn’t know that she was capable of doing that,” Sean said still shocked by the revelation.
“You will be shocked about what these young kids are capable of nowadays. Did you know that Vivian knew and never said a word?”
Sean looked at his friend and laughed.
“I guess blood isn’t thicker than water after all,” he said jokingly.
“I love it though. It’s rare to find someone who is loyal to the extent of keeping such a huge secret for long,” Victor complimented the relationship the two girls have.
“That’s true; let me grab something for Selena to eat. Apparently, the baby eats a lot,” he said shaking his head.
“You are going to be a father now; I am very proud of you and envious to have found such a lovely wife like yours. I hope that soon I will find the love of my life too,” Victor said as they arrived at the buffet.
“You will. I will root for you,” Sean said with a grin.
He took a plate and began to fill it with the food that Selena liked. He filled a glass with some juice and walked towards the table Selena was seated. He put the food on the table and she looked at him with those eyes that always make him weak.
If people weren’t around, he would have just ignored the food and carry her upstairs and make love to her like there will be no tomorrow but that will have to wait until this whole party was finished.
“Thank you very much,” she said as she pulled the plate closer to her.
“If you need more just tell me,” he told her and she smiled.
“I will surely do that,” she said.
“What about me?” Vivian asked and she didn’t seem happy at all.
He laughed at the way she was reacting; it was normal for her to feel left out after what he had done but she had to forgive him since the only person in his mind was Selena.
“This is why they say brothers are the best,” Victor said as he put a plate in front of Vivian, who immediately put a smile on her face.
“You are the best brother. Maybe I should get married too and let my husband take care of me!” Vivian said and the four of them ended up laughing.
“You have a long way to go dear sister. You need to find a boyfriend first before you even think of a husband,” Victor advised and Vivian frowned.
It was very funny seeing how these two were acting like children when their age gap was that huge.
“That can be easily remedied,” Vivian said and they all looked at her.
“What are you scheming again?” Selena asked and Vivian looked at her friend with a smile.
“I will start to go on blind dates. I will talk to mother, she has always pestered me with that. I think I can do that now,” Vivian said and Sean didn’t get what she was getting at but he could hear that she was severely hurt and she was trying to do something reckless to move on.
He wondered what more these two girls were hiding from him.
“Are you sure that you can do that?” Victor asked.
“Yes, I am ready now. Don’t worry brother, I will be just fine,” Vivian reassured her brother.
“Okay then. Don’t think of anything that will upset you now and just celebrate,” Victor said and Vivian smiled at her brother.
“We better leave the ladies alone and have a talk with those men. They have been dying to talk to you,” Victor said pointing to the other corner of the room.
“Let’s do that then,” Sean said and looked at his wife, “I will see you later.”
“I will be fine so just go and do your thing,” Selena urged him.
After making sure that everything was okay, Sean left with Victor to have a nice chat with the business colleagues of his.

“That went very well, weren’t you scared?” Vivian asked her friend Selena as they have their food at Sean’s birthday banquet.
“I was scared, I could barely stand but it went well. He was happy and so was I. I am glad that he took it well,” Selena said with a sigh of relief as she indulged herself with food.
Vivian smiled at her friend. This pregnancy of hers had turned her into a pig. The amount of food she was eating was too much that when she came for dinner to her house her mother spotted it at once. She was happy for her and she was glad her mother didn’t judge Selena or advised her to not be friends with her.
“I am glad that all is well now, I just hope that I will be happy one day too,” Vivian said as she threw a slice of meat in her mouth.
“You are a beautiful girl V; you will have what you wish for soon. How about we try something for just one last time and see if Edward will not be affected?” Selena suggested and Vivian looked at her friend wondering what plan she had come up with this time.
“Tell me; what is it?” she asked full of curiosity.
