CHAPTER 17

“Yes, we do,” she said as she shook herself from him. This was about to go on another level.
“I am sorry for what happened to you while I was gone,” Sean apologized and she looked at him.
“There is nothing to apologize for. It’s not like I didn’t know you had a past before I came. It’s not like there is much between us that we have to talk about all this. I will not ask you about what happened I don’t think I am able to handle it. I just want you to think hard about what will happen from now on.
I know our marriage wasn’t based on love from the beginning so don’t think about my feelings. I can handle them like I have always done,” Selena said and her words pierced his heart as if an arrow was shot right through it.
Every word she said was the truth and yet it hurt. Their marriage was not based on love from the beginning even when he knew that she loved him with all her heart.
He knew that she was worried about the future since she now knew about his relationship with Cleo from the past. It was too confusing for him too even when he was much older than her. So he understood her a lot, what she was going through at this moment.
“Don’t talk like that Selena,” he said trying to appease her but she didn’t bulge.
“I know that I am being childish right now but this is who I am. I don’t know what to say or what to think, which is why I will give you some time to think it over and decide what you are going to do next. I will sleep in the guest room for the mean time,” she said as she stood up but he stopped her.
“You don’t have to do that. I will take the other room, you sleep here,” he said and stood up.
He couldn’t quarrel with her now. She was the one hurting much but did she know how he was feeling too? She was young and wouldn’t be able to understand him but he was going to be the bigger person and see this through. He lost Cleo back then but he wasn’t going to lose anything because of her.

Selena cried as the door closes. He just left her like that in the room. Was he really considering thinking about this? Was it so hard for him to just tell her the words she wanted to hear?
If he would have just told her that she was the one he wanted, that he loved her, she would be not in pain like this.
After all the time they shared, was it so hard for him to love her or have some affection for her? Was she just another woman to him, whom he could have sex with and just discard?
Would she be able to even tell him about pregnancy now? Was she going to get divorced and become a single mother while she was still a teenager? The thought of losing him was so painful that she cried the whole night.
When she woke up the next day, she was so tired and sick that she called in sick to school. She was not going anywhere feeling like that and especially with her eyes so swollen like that.
She was not going to give those classmates of hers something to talk about. One way or the other, she was going to see this through and accept whatever was coming.
She loves him so much but she wasn’t strong enough o force him to love her. She wouldn’t be any different with Cleo. She was better than that. She was going to protect her child and if things didn’t turn out well, she will still take care of her child.
Her parents still love her dearly and they were not going to abandon her. She was going to do it and make it but now she has a headache to cure without affecting her pregnancy with the medication.

Things had been awkward between her and her husband ever since the night they talked about Cleo. It’s been a couple of days and she wasn’t seeing much of her husband. It really hurts but she wanted her husband to make a choice. She grew up in a family that showed her a lot of love and she wasn’t going to blackmail her own husband for some. Forcing someone to love you was just one immoral act she couldn’t do.
She took his pillow and sniffed it. That was the only thing she could do for now. She missed being around him and lot and she just wanted to be in his arms but he was proving to be hotheaded.
Selena picked up her satchel and headed outside. It was another day for school and she wasn’t going to miss it simply because she wasn’t talking to her husband and was pregnant.
When she came outside Richard was there to drive her to school. Ever since they started sleeping separately, Richard had been driving her to and from school. She could drive herself but it seems like her husband was being cautious.
“Morning ma’am,” Richard said as he took her bag from her.
“Good morning to you too, Richard; you know you don’t have to send me to school, I can drive myself now,” she said as she entered the car.
“I am just following master’s orders. He cares for you a lot, so please solve the issues between the two of you and return to be a happy couple,” he said as he drove away.
She wanted that too but there was nothing she could do since her husband was quite about it. maybe she was no longer in his heart, maybe she wasn’t there to begin with.
She sighed and closed her eyes as Richard drove her to school. She bided the old man goodbye and walked towards her faculty. She was happy to see a smiling Vivian so early in the morning.
“Why are you smiling like that? Did something great happen to you?” Selena asked out of curiosity.
“I have come up with a great plan and I am going to execute it tonight,” Vivian said as the two of them walked into the building.
“What scheme are you plotting now?” Selena asked as the two walked towards the hall they will be holding their first lecture.
“It’s not a scheme, trust me. My brother will be bringing him to the house tonight for dinner, so I decided to do it,” she explained.
“Aren’t you scared of your brother? You are trying to woo his friend.”
“That is a problem for another day. Just wish me luck,” Vivian said with a smile and she smiled too.
“I hope all will turn out well for you dear,” Selena honestly wished her well; it will be tragedy if the two of them suffers the same fate.
The two girls went to class and took their seats and waited for the lecture to begin. Just like any other day, it was going to be a long one and going back home was something she didn’t want to do but what else could she do?
Vivian had plans for the night and Sean will definitely be home late, she had to think of something quick or else she was going to end up depressed.
