Help With Conditions
Nicky's footsteps stopped, he completely forgot one thing. How could he forget that he came with Dalton, his dog.
"Oh my God, I forgot. How is this? Where did Dalton go?" Nicky panicked. He remembered that the last time Dalton was with him was when he was busy watching Soledad jump beautifully into the river. Meanwhile, the dog prefers to chase flying butterflies.
"Never mind, that dog has a sharp sense of smell, he can definitely go home by himself!"
"Dalton has never been to this place before, what if he gets lost?"
"Well, you can look for it yourself, I want to go home!" said Soledad as she continued her steps.
Nicky looked at Soledad's back with a blank look, not expecting her to experience this. Meanwhile the sky was already showing signs of darkening and it would be very dangerous if he remained in the forest.
"How about this ?" he muttered, Nicky felt scared. Even though it is not a dense forest, it is still quite dangerous.
After experiencing inner turmoil for almost 3 minutes, Nicky finally decided to look for his dog.
"Dalton!" he shouted, his voice echoing.
"Woof...woof...!" From a distance there was a dog barking, but the sound sounded very far away.
"Dalton where are you?" he shouted while walking in no particular direction.
Soledad stopped walking, even though she had tried not to care, her good heart was still hard to deny. Soledad turns around, trying to find Nicholas and help him look for his lost dog.
"You bastard, just give him trouble!" he muttered grumpily.
Soledad walked all the way to the river bank, but there was no sign of Nicky there. The wind started blowing hard, a sign that it would rain soon.
"Where is he ?" he thought, his feelings became chaotic.
"Nicky...where are you?" Soledad shouted, there was no answer, only the sound of water gurgling and the sound of the wind.
Soledad started to panic, she walked quickly while continuing to shout for the blue-eyed European boy. He even entered the depths of the forest which was starting to get dense, a place he had never been to.
"Nicky...Nicky, where are you?"
The wind blew harder and harder, the initially bright sky slowly turned black. Soledad shouldn't stay too long, because if she gets lost in the forest it will be very dangerous for a small child like herself.
"Huhu...Mama...help!" Soledad heard crying, she tried to find the source of the sound.
"Nicky...!" Soledad shouted again.
"Help me !" said Nicky when he heard someone calling his name.
Soledad stepped slowly, she came to the edge of a trap hole usually used to trap wild boars or deer. In the hole, which was quite deep, there was a boy whose clothes were wet and dirty with mud, with a sad expression on his face.
"What are you doing there?" Soledad asked pretending not to know.
"You idiot, you're still asking what I'm doing here? I fell and can't get up!" he answered while being incoherent in his anger.
"Hahahaha, what a shame, Young Master Nicholas Ferdinand Walter fell into a wild boar's trap, what a bad fate," teased Soledad, it felt like revenge had been taken without her having to bother getting her hands dirty.
"Do you think it's funny to see other people in trouble like this? Laugh while you can!"
"Why are you angry? Isn't it your own fault that you fell into that hole?"
"Never mind, hurry up and help me. I can't climb up, my leg is injured!"
"I don't want to, why should I help you?"
"You really don't have feelings, do you?"
"Okay, I'll help, but there are conditions!"
"What are the conditions?"
"Tomorrow at school, you have to admit all your mistakes to me in front of your classmates and promise not to insult me again!"
"Why is that a condition? I don't want to do it!" the answer was refusing.
"Well, if you don't want to, I just want to go home. Oh yeah, it's going to rain soon, if you don't get up soon, the hole will be full of water and you will drown and the snakes will usually come out to look for food. Good luck, good luck !" Soledad said frighteningly, Nicky, who was already desperate at first, became even more frightened when he heard the word that the snakes would come out.
"Hey, wait a minute!"
"Why ?"
"Okay, I'll do everything I say. But help me get out of this place, I don't want to meet a snake," he answered pitifully.
"Promise?"
"Yes, promise, help me quickly!"
"Just be careful if you break your promise, wait a moment!"
"Where are you going ?"
"Just wait there!"
"Hurry, don't take too long!"
Soledad looks for something she can use to pull Nicholas out of the hole. He found a long vine root and brought it back to Nicholas' place.
"What are you doing ?" asked Nicky, who was getting more and more anxious seeing the sky getting darker.
"Hold on to the tip of the root, I'll pull you up!" Soledad held out a tree root that she had tied to a tree and asked Nicholas to hold the root tightly so she could climb up.
Nicky climbed slowly with the last of his strength. When he was almost there, the root he was pulling broke and made him fall back into the hole. Soledad realized this and swiftly grabbed Nicky's hand, who almost fell.
"Please, please don't let go of your hand!" asked Nicky, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"N...I won't let go, just calm down, I...I'm strong..." Soledad tried her best to hold on to Nicky's hand.
Soledad's face turned red, Nicky, who was crying at first, was stunned to see Soledad's struggle to help him.
