Arranged marriage Plan
Haness, The Kingdom Of Ruven
17 April 1918
The beautiful olive-skinned woman strode along the side of the road. Her dark brown hair glistened when exposed to sunlight. She was carrying a tray containing offerings that she had brought from her house.
When her feet stepped across a path that was used by many people, the sound of her anklets attracted a lot of attention. Her beautiful face stunned all eyes, including the figure of a young man on horseback who approached her with a faint grin on his lips.
"Are you deliberately attracting men's attention with your beauty?"
"Sorry, Your highness. I think it's very rude to ask a girl to talk on the side of the road like this." She said firmly. He tried not to care about this man who had caused chaos in his soul and mind.
The young man jumped from the back of his horse, standing in front of him with sharp anber eyes. He didn't understand why he couldn't conquer that girl. He was Nicholas, The Duke Of Haness.
He has a very beautiful face, a tall, muscular and strong physique as if sculpted perfectly by the most talented artist in the world. But why didn't this girl also give her heart to him?
Nicholas, who was annoyed at being ignored, pulled the scarf covering the girl's stomach, making her stomach visible. He grabbed her body, forcing her to look at him with both eyes.
"Please let me go, Your Majesty!"
"Your eyes always show hatred. What did I do wrong that you hate me so much, Soledad?"
"I think only people who use their hearts and brains can realize their mistakes, Your Majesty. Please let me go! I've done what you want, I've hurt my pride to make you satisfied. So please, let me go!"
"You hate me?"
"That's a rude question!"
"You hate me?"
"Your Majesty, I-"
"You just have to answer yes or no! Why do you keep going in circles?"
"If you know the answer, why do you keep asking?"
"That's because I want to hear it straight from your mouth!"
"I will be punished if I say so, Your Majesty. An emperor and crown prince cannot be insulted and insulted, everyone must pay the highest respect. Therefore, as much as possible, I will restrain it."
"You're very good at talking, aren't you? I want you to come back to the forest this afternoon. I'll be waiting for you!" He said as he climbed on his horse's back and prepared to leave.
"What?"
"Make sure you come, you understand?"
"B-but I-"
"I don't want to hear rejection. You have to come, whether you like it or not!"
Nicholas left after making Disha fall silent and freeze in place. Soledad wants to cry now, she doesn't understand why that man always forces his will?
"What's wrong? Why is your face so gloomy?" Ask Janet, Soledad's mother.
Janet sat on the sofa sipping a cup of her favorite Darjeeling tea.
"It's okay, Mom." She said, trying to hide her anxiety.
"Your father will come home tonight. We will talk about your match. You are 18 years old, you are old enough to get married. There are several application letters from several men. I hope you can choose the best one,"
"Should I?"
"What?"
"Should I get married now, Mother?"
"Why not? I married your father when I was 16."
"But I don't want to get married yet, Mother. Besides-"
Soledad feels hesitant to say that there is now a man she loves. But she and the man once promised that they would go on an adventure together, instead of living like other couples.
Life as a woman is not easy, being a partner to a man and giving birth to children. He doesn't want to live just to do all that.
"Soledad, can you hear me?" Janet tried to wake her daughter from her reverie.
Soledad is very beautiful and attractive to every pair of eyes that see her. Even though her appearance is not the same as other noble women, it is a different side of her that makes a Duke of Haness like Nicholas crazy about her.
"Did you say something, Mother?" Soledad asked after coming back to her senses from her reverie. Her soul so easily flies free every time she thinks about her dream of going on an adventure with Nicholas.
"Never mind, the most important thing now, prepare yourself because I have selected several potential men who will marry you."
"What? You chose a future husband for me without discussing it with me first, Mother?"
"Why should I ask for your approval? I'm your mother, Soledad. I have the right to you. Your father will come home this afternoon, I'm sure your father will also agree with the candidate I have chosen for you. You don't need to worry, your future husbands will come from among merchant." Janet said as she went to her backyard.
Soledad fell silent. He really couldn't believe that his fate could be easily determined without his permission. He really hated this, that's why he wanted to go as far away as possible, where he would decide for himself which path he would take.
"I hate my life."
